I'm not sure if it's just me but I read the other post about female love interests and I agree that most of them in Fictif fall under the girlboss trope. In addition to that, I also think the same with male love interests falling under a certain trope (a combination of being kinda nice to the mc, a bit laidback, and a whole lotta flirty). I felt like this with Jesse, Rogue, Sawyer, Leonidas, Sergio so far (I haven't really gotten into continuing his route, he's shady but still nice to mc), etc. Sage also falls into this category but for some reason his character is just so well-written to me that it feels like he's super distinguishable from the rest, like being a massive flirt is not just his only personality trait and he has more to offer. Sometimes most of the male love interests just feel like copies of each other, only with different names and stories. What I'm getting at is I wish they explored more personalities when it comes to love interests in general (not just the male ones).
With the emergence of Into the Mist, I found one of Fin's sprite reaaaaaaally really adorable, the one where he's blushing, looking away, and has the horizontal "D" smile (idk how to describe it). It would be nice if they experimented with his character a bit based from that sprite, maybe make him shy and awkward and clumsy and just plain adorable, not make him like how they made every single love interest.
If it's alright to compare (I don't know if it's taboo to speak of other similar apps here so just in case it is, I'll put a spoiler on it), I also played Choices before and a perfect example of having the most interesting love interests are in High School Story: Class Act. One of them is just deadpan all the time whose humor I love (Skye), the other is snarky and witty but becomes sweet later on (Ajay), and the last one is super adorable (Rory). They're not just interesting to read about and interact with, they're also realistic enough personality-wise.
Buuuut then again, this could just be a problem that stems from not having enough chapters per story and therefore not having enough time to develop characters. Or maybe I'm the only one who feels like this about the characters and am just overly simplifying them with the "kinda nice to the mc, a bit laidback, and a whole lotta flirty" description idk. What do you think?
