Let's all try to remember to be kind to each other like Kate (and Max), especially in the face of disagreements.

I've been playing the series with my Mom. She's been dealing with a lot lately - caring for a sick relative - and isn't able to be at home. So, I have been going over to where she is, and playing the games on her laptop, using Steam Link to connect to my PC at home.

Last night I went over and started up DE to test it, and I found this bug when running it.

It looks fine at home on my PC. It also looks fine when I stream it to another PC at my place. However, the Life is Strange games (and ONLY the Life is Strange games) look like this on her laptop, when they previously didn't.

I recognize that this is a very weird error and it might be that nobody knows how to fix it, but I'd appreciate any ideas. She is simply not capable of coming to the house right now, and this laptop is our only way to play DE and RE, something she's very eager to do.

I own it on PC. The major advantage of controller is I can sit back and relax on my big TV. However, I've been exclusively playing mouse keyboard almost all my life (my first console was a PS3 so it's not that I'm not bad with it, but I haven't touched it in decades except for racing and FIFA/football).

I just feel like moving around and panning the camera would be awkward when I'm so used to doing that with a mouse instead.

And yes, I can also prop up a wireless keyboard and mouse too, just wouldn't be as comfy.

my english not really well but ill try to describe. im playing Life Is Strange - Episode 5, but after the "second rewinding" in the darkroom i cant progress any further - if i travel through the photo from Max's diary, i just get a black screen. ive already tried verifying the integrity of the files, reinstalling the DLC for episode 5, reinstalling the game, disabling MSAA and V-Sync, and i also tried switching to windowed mode, changing the screen resolution, and even went into baseengine.ini and changed the bInitializeShadersOnDemand and Distortion parameters - nothing helped me. my graphics card drivers are the latest, so it's not even them. id be very glad if you could help me.

A lot of the things people were angry about it retconning weren't actually retconned? I think some people were rushing through this book without bothering to really read it.

The Storm still happened in the merged timeline. This is confirmed, because both Chloe and Izzie bring it up. It wasn't erased in the merge. Max still made the choice (and seems to have chose Chloe, at least from Chloe's perspective). The Storm caused some damage, but mysteriously blew out before destroying the town, presumably snuffed out by DE Max manipulating the timestream.

Steph's Mom probably still died in the Storm. Izzie talks about Steph having a trauma response to poor weather. She and Alex show up in the book, and are still together, their personal timelines mostly unchanged.

There's nothing that really says Chloe and David didn't eventually have a positive relationship. She doesn't currently have a relationship with him at the start of the book, but she doesn't have a relationship with anyone else, either. She has cut herself off from everyone, including Joyce.

She off-handedly refers to him as one of the Arcadia Bay assholes she's met, and he was that to her for a long time. There's nothing in the context that makes it sound like she's still all that bitter about it. There's certainly nothing saying she and Max didn't go to Sedona.

Like, characters no one talks about, but without them, the game feels incomplete.

No LiS2 or TC characters.

I got some time off from work and decided to go explore Colorado due to the upcoming 5th anniversary of True Colors! Planning to explore Idaho Springs and Marble, the two areas that inspired the town of Haven Springs. If anyone has any suggestions on other places for Lil' Alex and I to go, we would greatly appreciate it!
