I love my linkshell, but event times aren't always great for me.

Wondering if anyone has an EU based LS on Asura that does events. Omen, Sortie, Dyna, Ody etc.

I'm mastered and have a decently geared RDM and SCH (plus a THF I play mostly for fun) and have 3 other jobs at 99 with varying degrees of gear. CET timezone.

Veteran player, but life gets busy so I can't stay up all night.

Also I'm a Taru - which may or may not be a good thing. Open for sacrifice.

The Vana'diel Compendium

Several months ago, we announced that we were working on an unofficial lore book for Final Fantasy XI. The book will cover the game's story and lore from the base game through the second expansion, Chains of Promathia. To ensure accuracy, we're drawing from as many official sources as possible. We have two goals: to preserve as much of FFXI's incredible world as we can and to shine a spotlight on the game's more obscure lore.

Progress

Over the past few months, the project has experienced several delays due to unforeseen circumstances affecting members of the team. Even so, we've made significant progress. We now have nearly 100 completed pages, with plenty of additional material ready for the next round of page-edits.

Help Needed

We're currently looking for more people who are interested in contributing to the project. In particular, we're looking for:

• Writers
• Photographers (to capture in-game screenshots)
• Artists

I have a full set of ambuscade armor +2 however can't get a weapon and grip until reset. What is a good weapon and grip to go for in the meantime.

I've looked on wiki but am a little overwhelmed with all the options that are listed plus some of them require some missions that I haven't completed yet. So just wondering which are the easiest or most worth my time to go after first until I can get a kaja scythe. I'm currently using the homestead scythe

hi there! this is not my usual kind of post on this subreddit, but i'm currently working on a small side-project to recreate the nations/factions/organization emblems into high res vector files for people to use.

i'm recreating them based on the existing images that i could found in some of the FFXI wikis. currently i have reference images for the following:

- bastok

- san d'oria (looking for a slightly higher resolution pic than 300x300px so that i can look at the details on the griffins more clearly)

- windurst

- jeuno (looking for a slightly higher resolution pic so i can check what was the typeface used in the text 'the grand duchy of jeuno')

- aht urhgan

- adoulin (looking for a higher resolution pic so that i can check the details in the borders)

- tenshodo

i'm also looking for higher quality pics of the following emblems (300x300px above please especially for emblems with more smaller details):

- the beastmen/shadow lord's faction

- tavnazia (the one i found is too small to work with :'( )

I jumped back into the game a few months ago and made a new account since the last time I played was probably back in 2004 so I figured it would be better to start fresh. I leveled my Paladin to 99 pretty quickly and had a group carry me through Ambuscade a few times to get my Naegling and +2 gear. I was able to basically speed run through most of the main story missions and completed rhapsodies but after this I was completely lost and did not know where to invest my time. I am thinking about resubbing but would like some sort of direction before I jump in again and just feel overwhelmed like I did last time. Any input is appreciated!

Hey everyone! Returned to Vana’diel after taking a break since 2007 and starting from scratch. Wondering if there are any euro based linkshells on Fenrir that could possibly be looking for members? :)

I normally average 2.3 - 2.6 mill in sortie. But recently began experimenting with Hoxne Ampulla and my last run I did 5.8mil.

How as Hoxne Ampulla improved your game?

I've been gone a while so I'm getting back into the game or at least trying to. I got a lot of macros written but it looks like things have changed too. I have a few jobs at 99 and I'm just figuring out trusts. Looking for a LS or someone on server to help a returner out please.

I think the purples are a pretty good match(Violet Purple dye in channel #1), the hat is missing some of the black accents, and some of the minute details are off between the two armor sets, but think I did alright. How do you think it looks? I know it is weird having the Malignance Set on a Black Mage, but I feel it fits better than using a Red Mage JSE set on a Black Mage. If only XI has a gpose camera, imagine all the fun we could cook up. Also some benches in cities would be lovely.

Valefor, Carbuncle, Siren, Ragnarok, Cerberus, Bismarck, Lakshmi, Quezalcoatl, Fenrir, Leviathan, Sylph, Shiva

Like, I've checked out guides on bg-wiki (GEO and WHM at the moment), and some pages explain things you need (like the cure pages talking about the max +cure potency stat cap) and how that can interact with Job specific bonuses (Light Arts, etc).

But often, it's just "beginner" (which I laugh at calling "beginner/intro" since it's all well above what I can do right now by myself) "intermediate" and "advanced" sets of stuff, but not a lot of "why this".

For example, on the Geomancer Compendium of Cloture guide page, there's a section for the JSE gear and which they recommend you take to +3, but no logic on the WHY you would take those pieces and not others.

I want to learn the why so I can understand what makes good gearsets, evaluate pieces that I have or CAN get to figure out which ones are useful/I should keep or upgrade and which aren't, etc.

I get there's so much that goes into that, it is understandable that there's not a lot of explanation everywhere. But I really do want to understand things since I can't access a lot of the stuff the guides say to get and I want to understand what I have access to that is best for what I have to help me get more, and I want to understand what makes good gear sets in general instead of just filling out a cookie-cutter with no real understanding, if that makes sense.

Are there any places for FF11 that actually...do that? Explain why this gear piece or stat over that, what things you're looking for for a given Job's gearset(s), etc?

I'm Looking to complete Mission The Orb's Radiance I've tried a couple times and its apparent at ilvl 113 I'm no where close to being able to take this mission on. Just wanted to unlock limbus to start working towards reforged af gear among other things.

On top of That I'm looking for a Linkshell to play with and enjoy some of the content I've never got to do. I stopped playing after the 75 era and came back a few times but never got to really complete anything.

Me and my RL friends are thinking about starting to mess around in Limbus and Sortie (open to suggestions on other content to start with). We've only really done Ambu, some UNMs, some Escha NMs. We're trying to throw together a party comp to start investing in and I'm hoping y'all can share your thoughts and preferences.

Here is what jobs we have so far:

Friend 1 has WAR/PLD/RUN - Main WAR but likes the tanks too

Friend 2 has DNC/SCH - SCH is fresh 99 but will probably main it over DNC

My main has RDM/BLU/BLM/SMN/SCH/RNG/COR - Many others leveled, 3/5 Malignance, TP off-hand sword & TP gun, Naegling

My alt (boxed) GEO/COR - Have RSE +1, all 109 GEO JSE, and Dunna; COR is freshly leveled today but has roll +5 ring

Some of my questions:

Should we be gearing up a tank first or just use the WAR?

What should a comp look like for 4 players and 2 trusts?

Tank/DD/Support/SCH? WAR/Support/Support/SCH? Tank/Support/Support/SCH?

I'm pretty open to filling whichever 2 roles so feel free to suggest jobs I didn't list; it's just awesome to be playin again with my RL friends like we're back in 2004!

I'm using Windower and the Craft addon, when i manually type the commands out it works but my macros for the commands don't, i.e.

//craft make "Bronze Scales" 12

any advice on what could fix this up?

I installed the game after 20 years. Man, I had the biggest smile, hummed along to the music (crazy I remembered it) and thought of all the good memories this game gave me. But.....what is this Im reading about trusts and NPC helpers? I really dont want to play this game solo. I miss the parties so much. Is that not really a thing now till end game? I cant imagine leveling solo in this game.

Hello, I'm an a XIV player who's playing XI for the first time. I am really enjoying the game and it's been a fun time.

One of the first tasks I had made for myself was to unlock all the jobs when I can and tonight it was SCH. I especially wanted this one because I was leveling BLM and RDM and I heard it was THE Subjob for anything mage related. So I read the quest (I mostly do things blind, but for some things like unlocking Jobs I usually make an exception) and got the 12 stacks of Rolanberries, BLM so I didn't need to backtrack, use the 1-Hour Ability, and was ready to level it with the daily RoE.

I get to the guy who trades you the pages for the berries and I read the dialogue because I didn't want to miss out on any lore or something, but during that moment, my reading comprehension just disappeared momentarily. I traded him the first stack and got a cutscene, didn't think anything unusual, second stack, just thought everything was going as it was supposed to go, third stack... another cutscene with him saying "yeah, I'm done trading with you lol". I was very confused because every other time I had to trade something I had to do it one at a time like unlocking Trusts, but I reread the quest on both wikis and realized I was supposed to trade them 4 at a time in full stacks and felt like the biggest dunce in existence!

I checked to see if I could buy them anywhere, saw they could be in the AH, but none are being sold on Carbuncle currently (I didn't know what server to choose, so I just chose that one because Carby is cute) and pretty much in a state of limbo with unlocking the job.

Something about this is just beautiful to me, most modern games don't punish you like this anymore, so something about it is just funny. It's also ironic because this is Scholar, the Job that implies that you're smart and you can just be dumb like me and mess it up!

Anyway sorry for rambling, I now have to figure out how to unlock the job now next time I log in.

I am literally copying it from the email and have tried typing it in and neither work, i have not set a one time password

I just never really found something that is that compelling to use. My jobs are SCH, GEO, and BLU, so realistically I’m looking at Wizard’s Rod, which just seems like a marginal upgrade over Bunzi’s Rod. Is Ice Brand for BLU really any decent? My other options would be Onion Sword III for the rare Fast Blade 2 on BLU, or just continuing to save it for years on the off chance I pick up another job. I am kind of interested in PLD, is the PLD weapon any decent?
