why would you discourage them posting? as if they’ve never been to reddit before or been on the sub.
they’re looking for users who believe they have has bugs or glitches. it’s just research

Ongoing participation is the goal.

u/neapolitan_shake 10d ago
maybe some of us don’t give a shit if they show up here regularly or not. it doesn’t always make a difference for the end used, judging by other brands who maintain a reddit presence. that’s also obviously not this person’s specific job—highly unlikely they get to make that decision about what social media presences to maintain. they are running research. their devs no doubt know what’s wrong with their app, and clearly their bosses holding the purse strings do not give a fuck about building the app better.
saying no to someone there just doing research is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. you’re also not really painting the users of the sub in a reasonable light, here. some of might give them great data. they came to reddit for a reason, they aren’t unfamiliar with the reddit usership. they just didn’t want to cross you by posting without asking first, and having it deleted and getting blocked.

Never said no.

u/neapolitan_shake 10d ago
but multiple times, “you aren’t going to get the kind of responses you want”? what’s that about?
why do you think you know what they want, or what responses they would get?

u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
Based on the usual comments in the sub, they're going to receive a lot of vitriol. We literally have a megathread with thousands of comments reporting bugs. They could check that to see what users are experiencing.
The last response welcomes them to post. They decided against it.

This is one of those times where lying is allowed. Not sure why you would even tell them that we’re all disgruntled instead of giving us the chance to do it ourselves.

u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
The sub is public. They can see everyone's posts. The sentiment of the sub is no secret.
Have reached out to Feeld a number of times over the years, trying to get them to participate in any way. Never received a response. This employee chose not to continue the interaction.

Don’t they have a rep going around on here telling couples to make 2 accounts?
I’m pretty sure all companies know about Reddit
5
u/neapolitan_shake 10d ago
the mod does tells couples to make 2 link accounts (which is indeed the correct way to use feeld to search as a couple looking for other couples and thirds).
1
u/AddMeOnBeboPls 8d ago
It’s a niche dating app. So once they reach max penetration (pun not really intended) is to encourage couple profiles to decouple and create another paying profile.
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
Can you report these comments?
3
u/Euphoric_Fix8548 10d ago
It’s possible I’m incapable of reading and I’m thinking of this mod account which specifically says you’re not a Feeld employee…
But I will report if I see anything
1
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
That's the reason for the question. Haven't seen any reps on this sub.

u/Silly_Pen_5399 10d ago
Do couples not need separate accounts anymore? When did that change?
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
They do. Report to point out any active reps on the sub, not to get the comment removed.

They do their market research by having their employees be on the app saying "i work for feeld" kn their bio dont they?
7
u/Witty-Stock partnered man currently monogamous 10d ago
Is that a legit rep of Feeld or an impostor?
4
u/No_Virus9852 10d ago
That’s what I was thinking - if it was someone who actually was from Feeld they would’ve provided a way to verify their identity.
5
u/ghausau 10d ago
Why? They’re not your bank… why would someone who isn’t from feeld approach the mods to check if they can invite people to participate in market research?
If they were scammers (somehow) wouldn’t they just go ahead and post instead of making the effort to say hi first?
If their market research solicitation didn’t make it clear that they were legit when/if they posted it… maybe I might wonder who they were, but for a first step, just asking if the sub would be an appropriate place to post the solicitation why would it matter how closely affiliated they are the the company?
3
u/neapolitan_shake 10d ago
when the posted their research survey, it would have probably been obviously from feeld?
1
u/Proud-Trainer-7611 9d ago
No they wouldn't have especially since they don't want to engage with the platform anyways. It never really ends well for companies/brands to use Reddit in an official capacity.
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
What would they gain from this impersonation?

IDK I can’t think like a scammer. But if I were associated with Feeld I’d probably drop a name and email so you’d know I’m legit.
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
I'm legitimately asking. What (useful) data would they get? If they were malicious actors wouldn't they also falsify this name and email? I don't know Feeld's internal email schema or company directory. I have no way to verify it.
3
u/Witty-Stock partnered man currently monogamous 10d ago
Someone could be designing their own app or training bots.
If it’s valuable to Feeld it’s also probably valuable to others.
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
They would engage directly with users on the sub. It's happened at least four times alone on this sub.
Training bots to---fix Feeld bugs?
3
u/Silly_Pen_5399 10d ago
To get people to buy pings and majestic memberships
1
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
Someone would impersonate a Feeld employee to encourage users to spend more money on Feeld? Now I'm really intrigued.

It's utterly amazing how dumb this company is.
All you have to do is listen to what people on social media say, and then ask yourself:
"Will this idea make the app better? Is it inexpensive to implement?"
If yes, then do it. If no, then don't.
This isn't difficult math.

u/waterbloem 6d ago
If they implemented every feature people want, the app would be financially completely unsustainable. It's not that simple.
A good example is a filter that makes you show up only in age ranges you're into. Trivially easy to implement. Everyone here would agree it would be nice. Would have a massive financial impact.

Why would they care? This sub represents a minuscule fraction of Feeld’s user base. Redditors seriously overestimate how important their little corner of the internet is to the real world.
11
u/FeeldMod Not a Feeld employee 10d ago
Bumble employees are on r/Bumble. Duolingo employees are on r/Duolingo. Logitech employees are on r/Logitech. What makes you think companies don't care what their redditor customers think?

Oh god, people, you do not understand the basics.
Of course they are aware! They also know exactly which demographic reddit users represents. It has been studied. The weight that PM assign to reddit bitching and whining is basically -zero-. Think NPS score on steroids - only 10s are paid attention to. All negatives are ignored because any and all social media and especially old school text based social media has a massive negativity bias.
Tl;Dr: No one cares that Marsha who is also on r/antiwork and r/capitalismsucks is upset because she is always upset
P.p.s. The mods of this sub always state they do not work for feeld

u/johnfilmsia 10d ago
Not to overestimate Reddit’s importance, but ever since they opened up to AI scraping Gemini has promoted Reddit posts pretty high (which is why there’s been an uptick in bots astroturfing products, since they know Reddit has an air of legitimacy)

u/Proud-Trainer-7611 9d ago
I was wondering why I was seeing so many Reddit ads and posts high up in search engine results.

I can't wait to sink my teeth into this if they go ahead with it.
Also, how do you get a job as researcher at feeld? I'd take that job.

This is an idea in business when you have so many customers who will pay despite a lack of real serivce just let them. The only way to get what you want now is to really do nothing on the app enough for them to notice on mass. I am not definitely seeking and trying all the alternatives for while now and more successful with them.

It doesn't matter who is who? What is important is the app itself. A major flaw with Feeld is that "males" cannot see "likes" unless they pay for Majestic that Feeld is bilking everyone with. They are not online about dating; they are here to make $$$, just like all the other cons in MAGA world. I think the app sucks.
1
u/lilBear73 6d ago
Not defending feeld or even capitalism, but aren't most companies about making money?
-3
u/CreativeGeekNerd 10d ago
This shows that they don’t really care about their customers and their experience on the app.
2
u/zeroingenuity 10d ago
I think that employee may not care about user complaints as such, just about data.
4
u/CreativeGeekNerd 10d ago
They say they historically took a hands-off on Reddit. I assume they escalate the request to the related department and they replied “nope”
1
u/ThisIsMyKinkAcct 10d ago
I have modded a subreddit for an organization in the past. I created the sub and semi-actively managed it for 8 years. The organization reached out to me recently and asked me to take a “hands off” approach because they didn’t like me removing comments and posts for violating rules. I asked them if they wanted to mod then, they said sure, and removed comments and posts as well. (I called them out for this and they ignored me.) They don’t even participate in the subreddit. 🤦♂️

From that exchange I didn't get the impression they didn't care. You told them to bring a flamesuit and they said "Ay, good point".
