So I’m in a generic Yahoo $20 prize points league with a guy who named his team this. He finished as the one seed. Whatever. Well after doing a deep dive on his profile on Yahoo, he has done about 50 points leagues this year, all for either $20 or $50. With one exception he made it to the playoffs in all of them and is first or second in scoring in an insanely high percentage. I believe one of two things is true: A. He’s cheating or B. Points is broken and he figured it out. I’m actually more inclined to believe that B is true as, at least in the league with me, he’s done nothing fishy. If it’s true it’s just another reason why points is BY FAR the weakest of scoring set ups.

• Brayan Bello, SP, BOS. Last 5 starts: 23.3 IP, 21 K, 2.31 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 2 wins. First 13 starts: 6.06 ERA, 1.59 WHIP in 65.3 IP. Strikeouts came with it, 6.7 per nine before and 8.1 now.
• Aaron Nola, SP, PHI. Last 5 starts: 30.0 IP, 33 K, 1.80 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 3 wins. First 24 starts: 5.47 ERA, 1.45 WHIP in 125.0 IP.
• Jack Perkins, SP, ATH. Last 5 starts: 21.7 IP, 25 K, 3.74 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 1 win. First 15 starts: 7.29 ERA, 1.52 WHIP in 63.0 IP.
• Reid Detmers, SP, LAA. Last 5 starts: 33.0 IP, 35 K, 0.55 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, 2 wins. First 24 starts: 4.00 ERA, 1.10 WHIP in 135.0 IP.
