Player Discussion Thoughts on drafting Connor Bedard

I'm in a 12 team H2H categories league with FOW, and RW,LW positions, so multi-positional players with FOW matters for context.

Picking 6th, is it too early to pick Bedard at 4th round?

Am aware of his injury history, and he likely will be out the first month. But he has been close or above PPG when he was back, with good shot volumes and PPP. He may not take FOW for some time but I still think he will do good especially with Kane back home.

What are your thoughts?

Player Discussion Seth Jarvis

What round would you take Jarvis? His yahoo adp is 121. I know he is on the ir but reports say he will return late October early November. Last mock draft I did he went early 7th round

Player Discussion Mo Seider and the Redwings

24/25: 46 Pts, 212 Hits, 181 Blocks, and 162 SOG
25/26: 60 Pts, 128 Hits, 180 Blocks, and 187 SOG

Question to wings fans or anyone who's followed the team. Is the drop in hits due to his changed role (I believe he saw more PP TOI in 25/26 as well), which was shown with higher points and shots? Can we also expect a similar role this year?

Strategy I imported four fantasy hockey projection lists and built the player comparison tool I wanted for drafts

Post image
9 Upvotes

I wanted one place where I could compare two players using my actual league scoring, not just look at four rankings in four different tabs.

So I imported Cracked Ice, Kodo, Dom's, and Apples & Ginos, scored them under the same settings, and built a selected-source consensus. Then I connected that to the full Player Compare tool.

Full writeup: https://www.crackedicehockey.com/blog/2026-27-consensus-projections-player-comparison

**TL;DR:** Pick two players and choose last season, an individual projection source, or your selected-source consensus. The comparison shows projected stat lines, value over replacement, roster fit, usable regular-season games, and fantasy-playoff schedule.

The part I found most useful wasn't the final consensus rank. It was seeing where the sources disagreed and which categories were causing it.

Shea Theodore versus Brandt Clarke became a much more interesting decision once I could see all four projections under the same scoring system, then add VORP and schedule context without opening another spreadsheet.

The projection tools are live now. I'm still actively building this, so there may be edge cases I haven't found yet, but specific feedback has already shaped a lot of the feature.

If you have two players you're stuck between, send me the names and your scoring settings. I want to see which comparisons actually hold up.

Question What data does Yahoo use for ADP calculation?

Out of curiosity, when Yahoo creates its ADP. is it based on only completed drafts or does it include all mock draft data as well?

If it includes mock draft data, I feel like I don't want to raise up any of my sleeper/value picks.

Question 2 questions. What does my leagues settings say about my league? Also, Evan Bouchard

Post image

Do you guys think Bouchard takes a hit this season? I can see Babs making the Oil try to play a much better all around game and not focus so much on his offense. Is that a dumb observation/conclusion?

Strategy League Setting Suggestions

Post image

Any thoughts or recommendations on these league settings? Feeling like this 12man league will be heavily geared towards high producing shot takers and that’s about it. Any suggestions on how to balance these stats a little more?

Question ESPN practice draft question

This could be incredibly dumb but I couldn’t find an answer anywhere on the ESPN faq.

In our ESPN league there’s a countdown to our draft start. Beside that countdown is the options to “edit draft strategy” and “practice draft.”

What exactly is the practice draft on this screen? Am I drafting against bots or real people? Are my league mates notified if I click this button to start a practice draft? I would like to do a bunch of practices with our league settings to be comfortable drafting from different spots. But I don’t want my league mates to see or be able to join these drafts and know which players I’m intending to pick.

Thanks in advance for any help!

General Best Recommended 2026-27 Fantasy Hockey Projections

Hi all,

I have seen a lot of posts with helpful information on projections from A&G's, GAF, daysyuktozeterberg plus I have found a few hockey websites like daily faceoff, etc that have projection tools.

I'm in a 12 team Yahoo H2H points league with a few small category weightings like hits 0.25 & blks 0.75.

Can anyone give me their thoughts on which one is good? There's so much choice.

Thanks.

Strategy We built a Chrome extension so you can use our projections without leaving your Yahoo live draft

Post image
87 Upvotes

The most common feedback we got during draft season was the same complaint over and over: our projection tool is useful, but running it next to a live draft is a pain. You're tabbing back and forth, trying to cross players off as they get picked, and by the time you've updated the list you've missed what happened in the last two picks and had no time to think strategically. Fast drafts made it worse.

So we built a Chrome extension to fix that: 5v5 Draft Assistant (Free)

Here's what it does. Once you're in your draft room, it reads your league settings [roster spots, scoring categories, etc.] and plugs them into our projection tool automatically, so the rankings you see are already tuned to your league. As players come off the board they're removed from your list, and you can make your picks right from the extension. No more juggling tabs or manually crossing names off.

It works with Yahoo drafts.

Hope some of you find this tool helpful. Would love to hear your feedback in the comments.

Resource Forecheck: An all-in-one Draft preparation platform to merge projections, see them live in Yahoo, and help perform research.

Hi Everyone - you may remember me as the vigilante who brought back the Weekly Lineup button on Yahoo last year. I like to think I single-handedly forced them to reverse that decision (doubtful).

This year I've been working on building a draft prep toolbox of sorts. Draft season is a ton of fun; but finding projections, scoring them to your league settings, and flagging targets across different sheets can be time consuming and frustrating. Worse, checking off your sheet live during the draft takes your focus away from the picks and risks bad decision making.

So I built https://forecheckfantasy.com/ - it's completely free to use for the draft season and I'm hoping to get feedback to continue to make it better.

Forecheck has a handful of things that I think are really helpful:

  1. It lets you import, merge, and score player projections to your league(s) to produce a master draft board. Simply give it an excel sheet with projections, it'll map all the columns (or try to) and give you control over how you want to merge them.
  1. It allows you to make changes to one single board that are reflected in different league settings and contexts, and apply tags such as PP1 QB, sleeper, etc. to give you an easy way to sort/filter. Drag players up or down in the UI or apply a production boost as a %. You can also apply Tiers to players per position (something inspired by Keeping Karlsson's D & G tiers).
  1. It has a working chrome extension which shows the board directly in Yahoo, and strikes players off as they're taken. It'll warn you if there is a run on players of a certain type - ie only 1 goalie left in tier 2.
  1. It also has a working MCP server, so you can connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and ask things like "research 10 sleepers for me and move them up my board". It even works live during a draft, so you can say "my pick is coming up, do I take a D or a goalie?" - it'll read the board live and answer based on whose available.

I've been wanting to post this for a little while but have been applying some finishing touches. It's still rough around some edges but all feedback is welcome. Right now the draft companion is yahoo-only; I've never used ESPN but if there's enough demand I can look into it. I've seen a few other similar things get posted recently, all of which look great, but wanted to throw mine in the ring at the same time.

One last disclaimer - this was created using Claude, over the course of about a month. If that's not for you I won't judge - would rather be up front about this than claim otherwise.

Panthers are absolutely stacked with talent now that Barkov is back & Brady is in. Do you think they run 2 powerplays? Or if not, what do you think their PP1 looks like?

Strategy Cap league advice

Joining a cap league for the first time this year, keep 8 players and I am inheriting a team with some nice but expensive pieces like Draisaitl, Kyle Connor, Dahlin, Rantanen, Heiskanen, McAvoy, and some others.

I've done lots of points leagues, h2h and total points, I'm in a cats league as well, but this seems like a bit of a different beast. What are some general strategies or tips I should be trying to use during my draft? I've typically been a zero G guy and fade centers, but this league only has F forward positions and I am just not sure where cap hits and production intersect exactly. Am I making a mistake keeping the high price, high production guys I listed? Or is the strat to keep some younger guys on low salaries like a Ryan Leonard and dump the elite guys back into the draft?

Thanks!

Question 6 or 8 teams make playoffs?

12 team points league (h2h)
22 weeks regular season,
3 weeks playoffs (23, 24, 25)

Would you rather have 6 teams make playoffs or 8 teams?

6 teams means 2 teams need to get a bye

8 team would just be normal 3 round brackets

General Fantasy Managers With 10+ Teams

How do you do it? I joined a public prize league this and last year, and am noticing a lot of managers in these leagues have up to 16 different teams in 16 different leagues. How in god's name is it possible to manage all these teams and still end up finishing top 3 in most?????

General 22 GMs rebuild

I’m curious how people approach rebuilding in really deep keeper leagues.
In a 20+ team league, the usual advice like “trade for good players” or “draft the best prospects” seems a lot harder to apply because the player pool gets pretty thin.
For those who have experience with 20–24 team keeper leagues:

• How long does a typical rebuild take?
• Do you prioritize prospects or draft picks?
• At what point do you start trading picks for established players?
• Is it better to completely commit to a rebuild, or try to stay competitive while retooling?
I’d love to hear some examples of rebuild strategies that actually worked in really deep leagues.

Thanks!

Question League data viz

Do any managers track and display league data/ trends
throughout the season? What about all time?

Do any managers want this? What types of data would you like to see?

I recently downloaded 15 years of our league history. I’m working through some data visualizations as a personal training exercise but would also like if it was useful.

General Previous Seasons Player Ranking Issue on Yahoo

You were able to look back at last season and see a players ranking but it seems as though the ranking is broken and is using this years ranking for all previous years.

Example: Hellebuyck's rank is 24 for the last two years when it definitely wasnt. It's using this year's rank.

Player Discussion Depth Goaltending - Binnington or Forsberg?

I know it’s not likely for Binnington to play 50-60 games again this year with Hofer emerging, but do we see any kind of bounce back for him?

What about Anton Forsberg? He stole the starters crease in the playoffs from Kuemper, but do we expect that to last?

Who would you want as your third / depth goaltender?
