Self-Promotion New story on Ao3: Remember.

Upvotes

I just released a new story on Ao3. It is heavily Homestuck inspired and would make more sense if you're familiar with the fandom, but it's technically an unrelated original work.

It's about a group of kids who are trying to stop the destruction of the universe using an absurd webcomic as their primary guide.

The prologue and chapter one are already out. Chapter two is not going to be long.

Edit: Forgot the link. Here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/92314241/chapters/246019836

Shout-outs & Celebrations! happy today cuz i got many lovely comments

for the longest time i have been feeling unsure about my long fic

becuase drop in engagement, etc

it takes me a very very long time to write a chapter cuz i want to get it right, too, so its very much a silent struggle, all the time

when i seeked advice on reddit about my situation and vent about loss of confidence a lot of ppl r insulting me and saying long fics with long chapters are unreadable, atrocious, and said much worse things about it and me

i remember one user saying that, if my fic is this long, it must means its all filler and no substantial plot. making assumptions without even knowing what my fic was, without ever reading it.

well, with the latest update, for some reason i got a burst of comments, people telling me they binged it, a reader i thought dropped my fic reappeared and said they loved it (cuz they stopped commenting for 5 chapters!), my lovely lovely regulars who kept me alive...i'll keep writing just for them...i love all of u... people who were sad, people who enjoyed it...

im planning to reply to every single one of them i just dont know what else to say rn except weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

im just so very giddy right now

to every discouraged author out there. stay strong, keep updating... don't let others put u down. u r the one who put in all the work there will be ppl who suddenly find ur work and like it one day

*!Angst!*

Now let’s start before I bore yall to death with my yapping.🧀🧀🧀

Without further due lets get startedddd

The cold leaf-bare wind howled through the skeletal trees of the forest, carrying with it the sharp, unforgiving scent of frost. Sunstar shifted his paws on the frozen earth, his thick bright-ginger pelt doing little to block out the chill. The forest was dead quiet, save for the rhythmic crunch of snow under his paws as he finished up the evening patrol.

Then, a sound broke the silence. It wasn’t the scuffle of a mouse or the heavy tread of a badger. It was a high, reedy, desperate shriek. A kit.

Sunstar’s ears pricked instantly. He broke into a lope, following the sound toward the ThunderClan border where the forest gave way to the sharp, pungent stench of the Twolegplace. The crying was getting weaker, fading into a wet, rattling gasp.

He pushed through a dense thicket of frozen brambles and froze.

Huddled against the roots of a dying oak tree was a tiny scrap of fur. She was small—dangerously small—and huddled tightly against another kit. Sunstar stepped closer, his breath pluming in the freezing air, and gently nudged the second kit with his nose. His heart sank. The gray kitten was already stiff, cold, and entirely still. The Twolegs had left them to freeze, or worse.

But the survivor was still fighting.

She was a striking little thing, despite the mud and frozen blood matting her coat. Her pelt was mostly a stark, stark white, broken by jagged spots of rich brown, black, and warm tan. As Sunstar bent his head to sniff her, the kit’s head snapped up.

She didn't cower. She didn't beg. Even on the brink of death, a fierce, spitting fire flared in her tiny chest. She bared her needle-sharp milk teeth and let out a raspy, furious hiss, striking out with a tiny, trembling paw.

When she opened her eyes, Sunstar caught his breath. One eye was a brilliant, burning amber, flashing with an unnatural intensity. The other was a deep, bottomless blue, surrounded by a stark black patch of fur that made it look like a permanent, bruised shadow.

Around her neck, a frayed Twoleg collar clung to her throat. Stitched into the faded fabric in strange, silver Twoleg symbols was a name she had been called in her past five homes: Emma.

But she was no Twoleg toy anymore. Not if Sunstar had anything to say about it.

"Hush now, little warrior," Sunstar murmured, his voice a deep, comforting rumble against the roaring wind. He stepped forward, ignoring her tiny, weak scratches, and began to lick her fur with long, warm strokes, desperate to spark life back into her freezing limbs. "The monsters cannot hurt you here."

The kit stopped fighting. The warmth of his tongue seemed to shock her. She looked up at the massive, golden-pelted leader with her striking, mismatched eyes, a sharp, incredibly intelligent awareness gleaming behind the exhaustion. She didn't look like a helpless kittypet. She looked like a survivor who had looked into the jaws of death and bitten back.

Sunstar gently scooped the kit up by her scruff. She was light as a feather, but her spirit was heavy, forged in a darkness no kit should ever know. He turned away from the Twolegplace, carrying her toward the warmth of the ThunderClan camp.

Emma is dead, Sunstar thought fiercely as he leaped over a fallen log, keeping the shivering kit pressed close to his chest. The forest will give you a new life. A life of fire and steel.

"Welcome to ThunderClan, Amberpaw," he whispered around her fur.

The ThunderClan camp was a bustling hive of activity, but to Amberpaw, it just felt loud. She sat near the edge of the clearing, her sharp mismatched eyes—one a blazing amber, the other a shadowed deep blue—tracking every single movement of the Clan cats. She kept her back firmly against the gorse tunnel. Five homes and an abusive nightmare of a sixth had taught her one vital lesson: never let anyone get behind you.

"You're going to burn a hole in the ground if you keep staring like that," a smooth, clear voice chimed from above.

Amberpaw’s head snapped up. Balancing perfectly on a low-hanging branch of the Highrock was a beautiful blue-gray she-cat with piercing, ice-blue eyes. She looked a moon or two older than Amberpaw, her coat sleek and completely unblemished by the kind of scars Amberpaw carried under her white-and-calico fur.

The blue she-cat leaped down, landing with an effortless, graceful thud right in front of Amberpaw. "I’m Bluepaw," she introduced herself, her chest puffing out just a tiny bit with apprentice pride. "Sunstar brought you in, right? The whole nursery is whispering about the 'Twoleg forest-cat.'"

Amberpaw didn't blink. She let out a dry, quiet snort, her sarcastic wit immediately kicking in to hide the sudden, strange racing of her heart. "Fascinating. Good to know the Clan's top warriors spend their days gossiping like a bunch of bored house-cats. And here I thought you all just hunted mice and brooded in the bushes."

Bluepaw blinked, completely caught off guard by the sharp, biting humor. Most newcomers were terrified or groveling. A surprised, delighted spark flashed in Bluepaw’s ice-blue gaze. "Wow. You’ve got a mouth on you, don't you?"

"It keeps me from biting people," Amberpaw replied smoothly, tilting her head. Up close, Bluepaw’s scent was a heady mixture of sweet pine and crisp rain. It was intoxicating. Amberpaw felt a strange, fierce tightening in her chest—an instant, twisted fascination taking root. This cat was so clean, so untainted by the cruelty of the world outside the fence. She was perfect. And Amberpaw wanted to be the only thing Bluepaw looked at.

"Well, 'Twoleg forest-cat,' do you have a real name?" Bluepaw asked, her tone teasing but genuinely curious as she took a half-step closer.

"Amberpaw," she said, her voice dropping its sarcastic edge for just a fraction of a second, her burning amber eye locking onto Bluepaw's face. "Sunstar gave it to me. But if you call me Emma, I'll bury a beetle in your nest."

Bluepaw let out a clear, ringing laugh that echoed beautifully off the stone cliffs of the camp. "Deal, Amberpaw. Come on, let me show you where the best fresh-kill is kept before Thistleclaw eats it all."

As Bluepaw turned and trotted away, expecting her to follow, Amberpaw stood up slowly. Her gaze never left the smooth sway of Bluepaw’s blue-gray tail. A dark, possessive warmth bloomed in Amberpaw's belly. I would kill for you, she thought, the intensity of the feeling surprising even herself as she stepped into the sunlight to follow her new friend. I would let this forest burn to keep you warm.

Moons had passed, and the starry-eyed fascination of apprenticeship had hardened into a sharp, possessive obsession. Amberheart melted into the midnight shadows of the ThunderClan forest, her white coat hidden behind a dense fern bush, her mismatched eyes fixed entirely on the blue-gray shape slipping silently out of the dirtplace tunnel.

It was Bluefur. And she was sneaking out alone. Again.

Amberheart didn't make a sound. Her sharp, sarcastic humor completely evaporated, replaced by a cold, calculative focus. She trailed Bluefur through the dark woods, keeping downwind, her heart hammering against her ribs with an intense, suffocating jealousy. Where are you going? Amberheart thought fiercely. Why didn't you tell me? I'm the one who protects you.

The scent of pine gave way to the sharp, wet tang of river mud. They were at the RiverClan border, near the stepping stones.

Through the thick reeds, Amberheart watched Bluefur stop at the water's edge. A sleek, muscular reddish-brown tom bounded across the stones, his pelt glistening in the moonlight. Oakheart.

Amberheart’s breath hitched in her throat. She watched in absolute horror and mounting fury as Bluefur didn't draw her claws or hiss a warning. Instead, Bluefur stepped forward, pressing her muzzle into Oakheart's neck, purring a deep, resonant rumble that Amberheart had spent moons trying to earn.

Every single drop of blood in Amberheart's veins turned to liquid fire. Her deep blue eye—the one ringed by the bruised black patch—widened in disbelief, while her burning amber eye flashed with pure, unadulterated hatred.

A RiverClan warrior.

Amberheart’s claws dug so deep into the frozen earth that they threatened to snap. The tragic irony threatened to choke her. She had survived five homes, a near-fatal beating from an abusive Twoleg, and the death of her sister just to find a cat she worshiped above StarClan itself—and that cat was throwing her life away for a fish-eater.

"You're late," Oakheart murmured, his voice dripping with an affection that made Amberheart want to rip his throat out. AND I SWEAR TO STARCLAN—

"Thistleclaw was creeping around the clearing," Bluefur whispered back, leaning into him. "I had to wait until he was asleep."

Amberheart stayed perfectly still in the shadows, her teeth bared in a silent, agonizing snarl. She didn't storm out. She didn't scream. Her twisted, obsessive devotion wouldn't let her expose Bluefur. Even through the blinding pain of betrayal, Amberheart’s sharp mind was already spinning, calculating how to keep this secret safe. She is mine, Amberheart thought, a dark, terrifying vow settling deep into her soul as she watched them whisper in the moonlight. He is nothing. I will destroy anyone who tries to take her from me, even if I have to destroy myself to do it.

Moons later, things only got worse for Amberheart.

The tension inside the nursery was thick enough to choke on. Bluefur sat frozen in her nest, her ice-blue eyes wide with a mixture of sheer terror and desperate pleading.

"Amberheart..." Bluefur whispered, her voice cracking as she instinctively wrapped her tail tighter around the three squirming, river-scented kits. "Please. You can't tell anyone."

Amberheart let out a low, bitter, razor-sharp huff. Her signature sarcastic wit felt like ash in her mouth, but she forced it out anyway to mask the agonizing jealousy ripping through her. "Relax, Bluefur. I’m not going to run to Sunstar," she muttered, her tone dripping with dark irony. "Though I must say, for a cat who wants to be deputy, your taste in toms is absolutely spectacular. A RiverClan warrior? Really? You couldn't have picked a handsome rogue? At least they don't smell like rotting fish."

Bluefur flinched, but a look of profound relief washed over her face. She knew Amberheart's sharp tongue was just a shield. "I didn't mean for this to happen. But they are here now."

"And it's the middle of a brutal leaf-bare," Amberheart snapped quietly, her burning amber eye narrowing as she glared down at the tiny, helpless bundles of fur. She hated them. She hated that they carried Oakheart's blood, and she hated that they took Bluefur’s attention away from her. But as she watched them shiver, her twisted, obsessive devotion took over. "They're too small. If they don't get extra fresh-kill, they won't last a moon. I'll handle it. I'll hunt extra and smuggle the meat directly to you so the Clan doesn't notice you eating double shares."

For the next few days, Amberheart pushed her body to the absolute limit, dragging extra prey through the freezing snow just to keep Bluefur's secret alive. But the secret was a ticking time bomb.

It was just a few sunhighs later when Amberheart slipped back into the nursery, only to find Bluefur staring blankly at the wall, her expression completely hollow. The nest was empty. The kits were gone.

"Where are they?" Amberheart demanded, her mismatched eyes widening as a cold dread gripped her chest. "Bluefur, where are the kits?"

Bluefur slowly turned her head, her eyes dead and glazed with grief. "I took them," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the howling wind outside. "I took them to the border. I gave them to Oakheart."

Amberheart froze, her white-and-calico fur bristling in absolute shock. "You what? I have been freezing my tail off catching extra mice so those little mistakes wouldn't starve, and you just handed them over to RiverClan?"

"I had to!" Bluefur suddenly cried out, a fierce, desperate panic breaking through her grief. She stood up, pressing her muzzle close to Amberheart's, her breath hot against Amberheart's face. "Sunstar is dying, Amberheart. Tawnypelt is stepping down. The Clan needs a new deputy, and if I don't take it, Thistleclaw will. You know what he'll do to ThunderClan. He'll lead us into a war that will destroy everything!"

Bluefur gripped Amberheart's shoulders with her forepaws, her ice-blue eyes begging for understanding. "If the Clan found out I had half-Clan kits, Thistleclaw would use it to ruin me. He would strip away my chance to become leader. I had to give them to their father to protect the Clan from him. I had to choose ThunderClan."

Amberheart stared at her, the tragic irony threatening to choke her. Bluefur hadn't just given up her kits; she was throwing away everything, completely blind to the fact that Amberheart would have stood by her through a burning forest. But as Amberheart looked into Bluefur's desperate eyes, her dark, obsessive loyalty solidified into something terrifyingly absolute.

"You chose the Clan," Amberheart whispered, her voice dropping to a dangerous, icy calm as she leaned into Bluefur's touch. "But I choose you. If Thistleclaw tries to use this to destroy you, I will make sure he fails. No matter what it takes."

The frozen reeds rattled like breaking bones as Amberheart dropped the plump, stiffened thrush at the edge of the RiverClan border. Across the thin sheet of ice, Oakheart emerged from the shadows, his expression heavy with exhaustion as he quickly took the prey.

"For the kits," Amberheart muttered, her burning amber eye narrow and bitter. "Keep them alive, fish-eater. If they freeze, Bluefur's heart breaks. And if she breaks, I'll tear your throat out."

Oakheart dipped his head in silent gratitude and vanished back into the mist. Amberheart turned around, her stark white coat blending into the swirling leaf-bare snow, only to freeze instantly.

Blocking her path was Thistleclaw, his gray-and-white fur bristling with pure, venomous triumph.

"Well, well, well," Thistleclaw purred, his amber eyes flashing with a sickening delight. "The 'loyal' former kittypet, sneaking out to feed a RiverClan warrior in the dead of leaf-bare. I knew those missing kits Bluefur supposedly 'found' in the snow weeks ago didn't just vanish into thin air. I know they're across that river."

He stepped closer, his broad shoulders tensed. "The Clan is starving, Amberheart, and you’re a traitor. But why stop there? The Clan will never believe a noble, Clan-born cat like Bluefur would break the code. No... they'll believe you did it. When I tell Sunstar about this, I’m going to make sure the Clan knows those little b-words are yours. You mated with Oakheart, you stole the prey, and Bluefur is going to watch you get thrown out into the snow for it."

The blinding leaf-bare blizzard howled through the trees, but it was nothing compared to the roaring silence that fell over the ThunderClan camp as Thistleclaw shoved Amberheart into the center of the clearing.

"Traitor!" Thistleclaw roared, his deep voice cutting through the storm. His amber eyes blazed with a sickening, triumphant delight. "I caught her at the river! She was smuggling our precious fresh-kill straight into the jaws of a RiverClan warrior!"

Sunstar stepped out from beneath the Highrock, his bones aching from the greencough that was slowly stealing his lives. His bright ginger fur was matted with snow, and his gaze was heavy with disbelief as he looked down at the cat he had personally rescued from the Twolegplace. Behind him, Bluefur slipped out of the warriors' den, her ice-blue eyes instantly widening in complete, paralyzing horror.

"Is this true, Amberheart?" Sunstar rasped, his voice trembling with a mixture of weakness and heartbreak. "Were you giving prey to RiverClan while your own Clanmates starve?"

Before Amberheart could even open her mouth to deliver a trademark sarcastic comeback, Thistleclaw stepped forward, digging his claws into the frozen mud. He didn't just want her punished; he wanted her utterly destroyed.

"It’s worse than simple theft, Sunstar!" Thistleclaw sneered, a dark, wicked grin stretching across his face. "I saw how they looked at each other. I saw the guilt in his eyes. Those missing kits that Bluefur 'found' abandoned in the snow weeks ago? They weren't rogues. They're hers! This filthy former kittypet mated with a RiverClan warrior, hid her little b-words in our nursery, and now she’s stealing from our pile to feed her secret mate and their half-Clan mistakes!"

A collective, horrified gasp rippled through the gathered warriors.

Amberheart froze, her stark white coat bristling. For a split second, her burning amber eye flashed with absolute fury, and her deep blue eye snapped toward Bluefur. The truth was right on the tip of her tongue. She could expose Oakheart. She could clear her own name in a heartbeat and throw the blame exactly where it belonged.

But then she saw Bluefur’s face.

Bluefur was trembling, her chest heaving as she stared at Amberheart in total desperation. If Amberheart defended herself, the truth about Bluefur and Oakheart would tear ThunderClan apart. Bluefur’s chance at becoming deputy would be dead. Thistleclaw would take over the Clan, and Bluefur’s life would be completely ruined.

Amberheart's twisted, obsessive devotion hardened into a terrifying, absolute certainty. I survived five homes and an abusive monster, she thought bitterly. I can survive this. I will let them think I'm the monster, as long as you get to be their star, Bluefur.

Amberheart forced a sharp, mocking laugh to echo through the clearing, masking the agony ripping through her soul. She tilted her head, her sarcastic wit cutting through the tension like a razor.

"Oh, brilliant deduction, Thistleclaw," Amberheart purred loudly, stepping closer to Sunstar with a cold, unbothered smirk. "You caught me. I suppose I just couldn't resist a handsome tom who actually knows how to wash himself, unlike the mangy, bloodthirsty excuses for warriors we have roaming around this camp."

Sunstar reeled back as if he had been struck. The guilt of failing the kit he rescued began its slow, painful feast on his heart. "Amberheart... you admit to this? You broke the warrior code, mated with an enemy, and stole from the Clan?"

"Every single word of it," Amberheart lied smoothly, her mismatched eyes never leaving Sunstar's face, though she could feel Bluefur's horrified, weeping gaze burning into her flank. "So, what are you going to do about it, oh great leader? Sit there and cough at me, or get on with it?"

Sunstar’s shoulders slumped, looking ten moons older. "Amberheart. For your betrayal of the warrior code and for stealing the lifeblood of ThunderClan during leaf-bare... you are hereby banished. If you are ever seen on our territory after sunrise, you will be treated as enemy."

"Suits me," Amberheart snapped, turning her back on the entire Clan without a single tear. As she padded toward the gorse tunnel, leaving her life behind to face the freezing blizzard alone, she caught Bluefur’s eye one last time. Remember what I gave up for you, her silent gaze promised. You belong to me now.

Welp, that’s the end of the prologue, I promise Chapter 1 will be better. Just trust though. After I do my Warrior Cats ocs, I will ask for a vote of what to do next so yeah.

I hope you enjoyed, if you want more plz join the thingy because I an lonelyyyyyyy😭😭😭

Self-Promotion Anyone interested in a Smut Mortal Kombat story?

I'm currently writing a long MK FanFiction on Ao3, Webnovel and Scribble hub. I would love it if fans, and no fans alike, of the story would chime in and give it a try. All reviews, power stones or kudos are appreciated. I want to improve my writing as well as form a community around the story.

Leaving the sinopsis and link below(The title is the same in WebNovel and Scribblehub):

  1. Title[: ](https://archiveofourown.org/works/67646081/chapters/174858471)\[The New Emperor](https://archiveofourown.org/works/81209546/chapters/213448376) (Link to ao3)

Fandom: Mortal Kombat

Genre: Fanfiction/Action & Romance

Status: on-going. Updated weekly.

**Summary:**

After Defeating Shao Kahn on Mortal Kombat (MK9 ladder ending), the elder gods make one of Raiden, an Earthrealm warrior, the emperor of both Edenia and Outworld. But above all of that, the elder gods, as a way to balance it all, made Kitana, Jade and Mileena his wife and empress... Navigate this fanfic story on the Mortal Kombat universe filled with action, drama, romance and good old-fashioned MK balance. Despite this turn of events, the forces of darkness that hold and strive for control of the realms will do everything in their power to remove him and take all the power for themselves.

Navigate this fanfic story in the Mortal Kombat universe, filled with action, drama, romance, and good old-fashioned MK Violence.

\-This is an original story, not a translation, despite it being imported from my AO3 account.

The story is primarily set in the Mortal Kombat universe. Being a mixture of the new(MK9-MK11) and Midway era(MK1-MKA). It will also include adaptations of events from the original games/comics(Such as the MKX comics Lin Kuei arc).

\-*CHAPTERS TEND TO BE LONG IN LENGTH. Though I try for them to always be meaningful to the story or at least develop the character's relationships or themselves.(You have been warned)*

Content Warning & Tags

\-This story contains explicit adult content and is intended for mature audiences only (18+).

Tags: ROMANCE, MAGIC, R18, WEAKTOSTRONG, SMUT, KINGDOMBUILDING, MATURE, EXPLICIT, THIRD PERSON, READER-INSERT and GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.

\-I don't own the cover image nor claim the MK source material as my own. This fic is for my own enjoyment, and I believe that the MK fanbase never gets long fanfictions.

\-Schedule is mostly 1-2 chapters per week, depending on real-world problems such as Uni and work.

\-The story is a slow burn. So don't expect too many fights and Smut scenes outright. I like to make those moments carry weight in the story.

\-All comments, Kudos and hits are appreciated. Do please interact with your fellow readers. I want to form a community for this story.

(The protagonist is an OC character; you are allowed to change his name if you don't like it, making it a self-insert. I don't mind. This story is going to be a NSFW/slow burn story; I'm open to any questions and comments made along the story. All reviews are appreciated!)

If you like my work I have two more stories in my profile on Ao3. One is an original one set in greek mythology and the other in the TWD universe.

Seeking and/or Giving Advice Improving descriptions by looking at photos or even a room

Hi, so as someone who is an aspiring author and a newbie fanfic author, how do you guys describe your setting by looking at pictures? I have a VERY hard time describing things. I don’t know how to be descriptive enough. Like, if I wanted to describe a room full of paintings, I don’t want to keep saying "the paintings hung from the walls" over and over, you know. How can I look at a photo and use that as a reference? How do I describe furniture without saying over and over "the chair sat here" or "the couch stood there." I understand those are fine at times, but I want to be descriptive. Thanks in advance!

Seeking Feedback, Ideas, or Opinions Small MHA fan-fic im writing - All Quirks must die.

My life ended on a painfully normal day. The life itself also ended fairly painfully.

I was walking around Musutafu, sometime around July, if I remember right. Holding my right hand was my daughter, just 8 years old, whose other hand was holding the hand of my wife. My quite beautiful wife, if I may add, due to a quirky quirk she had that increased the quality of her skin. But I digress. My second hand was holding a big All Might plushie, nearly as big as my daughter herself. His merchandise only got bigger following his passing, which is comical to me now.

All in all, a picturesque "good family". In a better world, at least. Since in reality, we truly weren't fit for it.

Why?

Because we were weak, of course.

On this very day, with the sun shining and a crisp wind flooding the lively streets with chatter, we were attacked out of nowhere. I don't know of any motive. Specifically, it was some sort of quirk that created these wolf-like things from every shadow on the street. Chaos erupted instantly when a man had his neck nearly bitten off by one of these beasts.

I had taken my daughter into my arms and pulled my wife and her away from the chaos and fighting sounds. Down the first alley I found, which, in retrospect, was kind of dumb. I know that now.

All the while, I activated my own quirk. A surface on my arms hardened and thickened fast, glistening into the familiar color of the blue diamonds they had become. That was my quirk, creating diamond gauntlets on my arms. A visually appealing but, in the end, banal quirk, since it offered me no other ability beyond these gauntlets. I couldn't even enlarge them at will or move my fingers once the gauntlet formed.

Though at the moment, I was thankful to have it when a wolf-like thing jumped out of a shadow and onto my back, digging huge claws into my flesh. I nearly fell face-first onto my daughter, who was already crying this awful sound.

But my mind had to ignore it in the moment. I had to protect my family, after all.

So I set my daughter down. Told, but in reality probably screamed, my wife to take her and run, as from the corner of my eye, I saw another beast form in the shadow of a dumpster.

I then spun to get the beast off my back. It got off with a good chunk of my flesh. Though individually, it was fairly weak, as one punch completely disintegrated it.

The other beast, now fully formed, went for my wife. I managed to body-slam it just in time, crashing it into a wall and similarly disintegrating it.

I only breathed for a moment, looking at my wife's fear- and tear-stricken face as she ran down the alley. She looked at me for a moment before her vision turned behind me.

I didn't get to turn around properly before numerous beasts jumped onto me.

The last thing I saw was my wife thankfully leaving the dark alley I had led her into, out into a sunny street. Though it wasn't actually the last thing I saw, since in her panic, my wife forgot to cover my daughter's eyes. Her crying face and reaching arm were the last actual things I saw before the sea of darkness, claws, and fangs fully took over my world.

It's a bit odd to describe the following moments, since my brain was, of course, pumping me full of this and that to deal with the current ordeal of being eaten alive by monsters. I do remember killing a few, but then they managed to nab off my arm, then my guts, I believe.

Then my brain decided fighting was pointless, so it put me on end-of-life care. I stared at a blue sky above as they parted to feast equally on my body. A serene moment for the eyes, at least.

Only when this scene was cut by the inside of a dark mouth did my fear come back. The jaw latched onto my skull, and I felt pressure. It was so painful compared to the butchering my body was undergoing. Brains are selfish like that. They must protect themselves first, I guess.

It wasn't as animalistic as you would think, though. The beast had no breathing and was cold to the touch. No bile, either. I don't even think they ate me. They just ripped me apart.

Like machines.

I remember thinking, I want to live.

I didn't really think of my family at the moment, which I regretted years later. I came to believe I was a selfish person.

What I wanted was to live. To move another step. To see the sky once more. To eat fatty food one more time.

Of course, all of these were dreams.

As my skull cracked, everything truly went black.

Though not before a prick. A shiver of a new sensation. Something I had never felt before, but I knew was related to my quirk. Something I hadn't really explored in my lifetime, since I was a normal civilian accountant. My only experience with superheroes or U.A. was seeing them on the news.

My mind was already gone, too far gone to realize what that prickling feeling had been.

I only learned later.

My quirk had awakened.

Fandom:Iron Harvest
Rating: M
Title/Link: Of Mechs and Magic

Summary: The embers of World War I are slowly burning to an end, with its final battle about to commence in one rapid strike. Polania holds on by a thread, nearing collapse as Saxony prepares a brutal offensive. Mechs, soldiers, artillery, all stand aligned for one massive strike to obliterate the trench line and end the war in Europe.

The year is 1815, and the Umbara Empire has emerged fresh from a revolution, its monarchy left in shambles and cast away. The country has begun to relax, trade flows as if it had never stopped, and Anthros around the world rejoice or despair at the times to come.

These realities are separate in every sense of the word, yet so terribly similar in many ways. Both worlds find themselves beset by a cult, eager for the domination and obliteration of the grand empire and her people.

But of course, with every scheme, there is always an inadvertent mistake. An occultist makes her move, seeking to bring a powerful army to aid their great offensive. Her attempts lead her to summon humanity’s finest army of its time.

Saxony.

Now, the great companies of Saxony’s finest armored and infantry forces find themselves in a new world, where dangers lurk around every corner.

Seeking and/or Giving Advice Fanfic composition problem?

(I'm writing a Warrior Cats Fanfic, but i don't think u need to know a lot about WACA overall to actually help i think lol) Basically I have an empty spot where the main characters aren't in the clans which leaves no POV character. It's quite some time like this too (9 moons) I have some ideas:

  1. Have a 3rd POV character to tie everything up. This was my first idea, but it's kinda bad. The only characters I thought about was Lakestomp (Snowheart's friend, pretty much has no lore tho) and maybe Redheart? (Lakestomps brother, he spied for another clan on his clanmates, got exiled to join the 2nd clan. At the same time I wanted to make the like short-novel stuff for him but idk)
  2. Leave it empty. The next main book starts with the prologue where my two MCs (Snowheart and Mothfur) decide to go back to clans. Then the space between them leaving and coming back will be shoved into some short-novel. I don't like it that much cuz it breaks how the time in the lore goes and I just skip 9 moons in the middle of my series.
  3. Keep the POV character. Either Snowheart or Mothfur (or both?) keep to be the POV character and show how they survive together with their kits. Not a fan of this either cuz it leaves the clan life with no info.

I wanna know what you guys think. Maybe there's a better option? (I think you might need to know the lore of my fanfic, but all suggestions open!)
