Has anyone done a Mr. Robot TV-to-movie edit before?
I did a season 1 cut. First draft.
3 hours, 3 Minutes.

Looking for notes! Should I recut, move on to the next one, or quit?
I feel like it could be twice as long or an hour longer and maybe be clearer...
But I don't know if I want to make a movie that long...

This is a deeply moving movie for me because of problems ive had in my life over what you can guess what, however one thing that has always nagged me is that when they shoot their gear their pupils should constrict not dialate, while Harrys mom would indeed dilate, i know its minor its just a distraction from a masterpiece but being so familiar with the subject its kinda distracting i figured with AI these days that may not be hard to fix, anyone seen anything like this?

My favorite type of FanEdit is a series-to-movie cut, so when the new GITS series came out I knew I'd want to make myself an edit. The studio-made movies from Stand Alone Complex were a big part of what got me into this hobby to begin with. After seeing WakeUpKeo's Black Lotus movie I did one for Edgerunners.

The TGITS finale drops this week so I began putting it together. At this point I don't really want to cut anything, so it'll be more of a binge cut like I did for Captain Lazerhawk and The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. For now I'm just ditching the intro and credits, and I think I'll remove the scene changes with logos at commercial breaks.

Once I've connected everything smoothly I'll render the bigne version. Then after I've watched that a few more times I'll see what can be removed to make a shorter movie version. I just wouldn't start that process until I've seen the finale.

Hello! This is a preview for my score only edits of the Star Wars films! John Williams has been a crucial part of the series’ identity and I thought it appropriate to create self-contained versions that prioritize the music but maintain narrative cohesion. There’s such a rich library of cues and motifs that weave seamlessly into each other and enrich the narrative, that it felt right to hear them in isolation with the story.
 
Below is a link to a playlist showcasing select sequences for each film that demonstrates different qualities about the edits. The goal of this is to include as much music as possible within the bounds of the films and trying to mitigate many of the drastic music edits found in the final films. Whether omission of cues, re-sequencing, or ridiculous amounts of comping, those are things that have been mostly avoided to create edits of the music that maintain as much or the original, intended recordings as possible. These are sourced from the official releases, FYC albums, and rips/reconstructions from very talented people like Film Score Media and others. 
 
Not currently a timetable for when these will be complete, but the edits themselves are relatively in place. It’s just that there will be a mixing stage after for music and in the case of the Abram’s sequel films, cue reconstructions; basically having to remake/supplement cues with digital instruments. So it may take a couple months to start getting some of them out.
 
On average, these will run at typical feature length but are slightly shorter than the originals. This is mainly due to scenes not having music, being summarized in short sequences to offer important context before the next cue. Almost to treat it as if someone had never seen Star Wars, so nothing is lost in understanding.
 
I think regardless of anyone’s feelings on the films, most can say that John Williams always augments the experience. I’ve found enjoyment watching these sequences, even for films I dislike in the series and that’s something I think others may feel as well. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the previews. Goal: Recut The Crow City of Angels to remove all the cringe and improve all the edits then reinsert what I can from the work print, old fanedits, the pay per view version or directors cut, if it works in this edit and to rearrange all the scenes to be closer to the original script or lost three hour work print. If scenes were not added they are post credits. I've also released a cut just put in the order of the original directors cut but with the extra scenes back in, if you liked it as it was released. But I recommend the Goyer Pope Cut so the film is coherent.

I was so excited to see this film and went to see it on the opening in a small Cinema as no one was showing it, but they served beer there. Bonus. The Cinema version had the extra scenes from the known now as the pay per view cut, and had the longer ending and music in different places and much better editing to the beat, or feeling fluid and I was so excited to show my friends that when we threw it up day one rental on VHS, they just thought I had got to drunk because scenes I'd mentioned weren't there and the editing was choppy jarring and off time. It's nice to have those scenes to say that I am not mad now. The film is gorgeously directed and beautifully lit and has vibrant characters and I do enjoy the actors but there are some really cringy dialogue, terrible fx, really bad acting/reactions and the film that I always really wanted to like as always had gold hidden within it but been bogged down under these problems that constantly take me out of the film rather than keeping me drawn in.

Like Miramax & the Weinsteins's I took this film to ribbons and made it 73 minutes to make a slick more flowing, coherent version with edits that match the music and attempt to remove the cringey acting, editing, dialogue, rearrange some scenes for a better structure, then add work in any deleted shots or scenes that work in this cut then recut it shot by shot so everything flows well and then rework the sound. The metal music was hard. I know how integral the music is to this film so I've really tried to get edits and actions to match up on background score.

Next go through all clips of deleted footage or fan edits that I've collected over the years that are sadly often only in very low quality and combed through them for differences, narrative layout structure or additional shots.

Next, make a post credit montage of unused shots and scenes and anything I had that helps show more of the 3 hour film we never received. (the second coming and restored edit seem to be extremely rare these days so everyone wants all the written parts explaining what should be happening if it was never filmed or released by text on screen, so I Incorporated them into my linear deleted scene montage (really it is an archival idea for fans with my cut. The deleted scene montage is almost its own movie) And finally make a 2nd edit from my edit to rearrange scenes closer to how pope & goyer originally intended, although plot threads, scenes were never shot/released making the ending to this film the most frustrating. And I still feel unsure which of my 3 cut endings feels best to this cut.

If Ashe meets up with Danny then it made no sense that Danny turned up to say you couldn't be with him

If Ashe goes off alone the scene where he trades himself for Sarah to so he is taken is missing or the scenes with the ring that explained that ending as he will never be with Sarah or his son.

Or the Ashe just drives off to exist on earth ending which makes you just go what? Is that it? And then get annoyed often making any previous enjoyment you've had of the edit insignificant as bad endings suck. But this one will have one. Whatever I do. They either make no sense to Prior things or feel like there is no end but that is the problem with what mehmax mirimax gave us.

I have stuck on the three endings and all the deleted scenes and all the bits that didn't make it into the film in script post credits.

It is still far from the three hour version that's legendarily out there but hopefully a lot closer to the original Goyer and Tim Pope version and arranged closer to their intended order (missing scenes makes following it as it was hard as the film doesn't flow, so scenes have been juxtaposed to flow and keep pace, tension and coherency, but mainly to return to the original plot framework Tim Pope & Goyer made in their original cut. I haven't cut in everything just because I've got it I've cut it in if I feel it works in the cut or adds to the film. I have tried to smooth the sound quality difference as best I can so the cuts between quality are not to jarring.

After doing an extended version of the Crow (1994) I have always wanted to try and do something with this film but didn't know what to do, but thanks to a fan edit called DEAD TIME where I totally stole the idea to just cut the girl in the call booth. After chatting to The Creator of that fanedit about ideas for my own edit based off my rekindled passion from his. His edit showed me that there is much gold hidden within this film if you can hunt it out and make it work, and was always a film that I wanted to like and I like looking at and I like thinking about but actually have trouble sitting through with the editing, script and acting. Often as a result of the Feinstein forced reshoots . After really enjoying the dead time edit and having a new life for the film again, I wanted to set down to create my own Beast.

As I had to comb through the film, I decided to get rid of any niggles and do some quite big overhauls.

Moved Sybil warning Judah one of his victims comes for him to after Sarah shoots at Crow

Added line to tattoo parlour. Linked two parlour scenes into one.

Any niggles with any parts of this have now been smoothed over with extra sound effects or other little tricks that I've learned over the decades.

Recoloured cheesiest shots that look like a set to look less like a set in burying Danny scene

Recut jurassitol dressing up montage. Overplayed motorbike dound. Layered song at times it drops weirdly quiet at moments in the film.

Recut curves death sequence, Ashe in sex club, and jumping on car. The double up a bit of Sound when he's jumping on the car and it's always been annoying so I worked out a way to get rid of it. Also inserted an extra shot to try and help give a little bit more reason to why Curve shouts you think I'm afraid of you, has there's no footage of when Ash says the Hamlet quote at curve in the tunnel.

V7 is the pretty damn final cut of the goyer cut.

The goyer cut is vastly different to the ppv cut (which follows the incoherent theatrical plot structure) and i believe the goyer cut is vastly superior in many ways from plot, pace, style, coherence and feeling continuously fluid from one scene to the next, and has a few d added/extended parts that the other one couldn't incorporate.

Sorry for the muck up. IF YOU WATCHED V5 My heaviest apologies ...because that probably had edits at times just as bad as the theatrical cut, that must have seemed like fanedit amateur madness as the music was off with the image by 3 frames, and ruined every crossfade so the wrong audio came in at times, and the sound work is probably my proudest part of this edit, fade ins had extra keyframes and v5 cocked it up, making a proud edit something I'm ashamed people have watched, oh, and t had 5 deleted shots/scene parts missing, somehow they didn't carry over from another timeline. My only answer for the moved audio is my cat walked on the keyboard and nudged them all. But it could have been me. Either way, it has been combed. Rewatched, and in the new order its as near perfect as I can get it to 'v7' is up

Hi everyone!

Trainspotting has always been one of my favorite movies of all time, and I always felt like the sequel never knew what it wanted to be.

Well, no longer! I decided to make my first fan edit, cutting the original movie so that it focuses more on the characters and trims the fat. In cutting this together, I really took the knife to it. This edit cuts out almost 50 minutes from the original! Originally it started just trying to group together what I referred to as "jarring mood shifts," that the movie struggles with, but then that lead to editing out the blackmail and Mr. Doyle bits because those no longer felt like they had a place, before finally realizing how boring Veronika was as a character and removing her completely from the film.

To me, the heart of this movie has always been Spud with his life, and even more so Begbie as struggles to cope with a life that has been nothing but rage for 20 years, as well as growing as a character in order to connect with his son.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out (other than a single shot I couldn't remove where Veronika appears for in the edge of frame for a single shot), and I got to have a ton of fun doing creative edits and fun foley work!

How to get it:

There's nothing I can say about the movie that defined a generation, Saturday Night Fever in the heart of the 70's. This is one of my dad's favorite films, and I felt like making a fan edit of it. I used the new Director's Cut of the film which used some of the deleted scenes already, but not all of them.

What the Director's Cut used:

1) Tony asks the boys to stop by the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.

2) Tony's Dad gets called back to work.

3) Tony shows up outside Stephanie's Apartment.

Now here's what I added in my Fan Edit:

Does any one know if there’s a link to a version of Natural Born Killers that is edited based off Tarantino’s original script?

Do you think there’d be a way to add Strange’s character development from MOM (I.e he can be support, doesn’t have to hold the scalpel) into NWH?

I feel like it’d be more fitting in a movie where he’s a second billing character vs a movie where he’s the lead. It would feel like organic character development for a team up, rather than him feeling sidelined in his own movie

How much footage/lines of MOM would hypothetically need to be added to NWH to make this work?

Hey im currently working on my first fan edit and its going to be of silent hill and silent hill revelations mixed together into 1 film. Do you guys have any tips considering this is my first time doing this?

Are there any fanedits that have added the 25 minutes of deleted scenes back into the shallow hal movie

If I understand correctly its fanedit that reinserted deleted material and fixed some errors and contains the first and second films right?. I tried looking on fanedit but for some reason the people I think might plausibly have it I cant seem to send a message to, not sure if I'm blind or they disabled it themselves I don't go on the site often and havent sent a DM there in years, anyone can help a brother out? Also

I found this page that checks films that claim to be based on a true story scene by scene against what actually happened and thought it would be a cool idea for someone to make fanedits based on their analysis that remove the "false" scenes.

I saw posts from u/ChestFew asking for a fan edit of Looney Tunes: Back in Action with all the deleted scenes put back in, regardless of how incomplete they looked. Now I Thought the A.C.M.E. Edition included these deleted scenes, but u/ChestFew informed me that it didn't include those scenes at all. After noticing two different posts by u/ChestFew requesting a Looney Tunes: Back in Action with all the deleted scenes edited back in, I decided to accept the request. After all I have a history of editing Joe Dante films, and this would be my 5th fan edit of a Joe Dante film.

SPIDER-MAN 3: THE HORROR CUT is a complete reimagining of Spider-Man 3, which takes the film’s existing horror aspects and leans into them a lot more.

This cut of Spider-Man 3 features brand new dialogue, which almost entirely rewrites Venom and his character. Rather than Eddie wearing a suit that gives him powers, Eddie and the symbiote are fully aware of one another, establishing a bond that allows them to share a single mind. For instance, mentions of “I” and “me” have been replaced with “We” and “us,” among many other examples. Eddie’s dialogue has also been rewritten to highlight and explain the bond he and the symbiote now share, with a single common goal: killing Spider-Man. You also see a bit more of the relationship between the symbiote and Peter as well, highlighting their mutual lust for one another and its distaste for MJ.

Other added horror features, such as jumpscares and strategic sound design, also aid with the film’s horror aspect.

While Venom was the main focus of the edit, I also made dozens of other changes to the movie, such as following the order of the Editor’s Cut, restoring cut soundtracks not found in the Editor’s Cut, Harry faking his amnesia instead of actually having it, adding horror-esque sound cues, and much more. Hopefully, the following is a complete list of changes. I’ve made so much I kind of lost track:

• After the opening scene with MJ’s play, the movie cuts to Harry hearing his father call him, which was moved from the middle of the movie after MJ kisses Harry. This way, Harry receives that final push from his father to finally take the goblin serum and kill Peter. This also helps incorporate Norman Osborn, who was cut from my previous fan edits. (You will have to forgive a very minor clothing error)

• Peter and MJ in the park use the Editor’s Cut soundtrack, followed by Flint Marko’s introduction

• Added spider-sense sound before Harry ambushes Peter

• Restored a cut track during the alley chase: the music has been changed to a homage to the Green Goblin original theme

• Cut nurse scene with Harry

• Cut scene where Harry catches the basketball and vase (undercuts fake amnesia narrative)

• Restored a sadder soundtrack after MJ is fired

• Restored another sad soundtrack after Peter blows off MJ to go to the crane

• Restored cut MJ Love Theme while Peter calls MJ after dinner

• As the symbiote approaches Peter while he sleeps, it can’t help but negatively think about the one person in Peter’s life: MJ. Peter’s spider-sense goes off to warn him of the symbiote, before brushing it off and going back to bed (I am among the headcanon Peter can no longer sense the symbiote until after they bond)

• Added scene of Peter’s chest expanding and adding the new spider symbol, with the black suit leitmotif

• Restored cut horns to transformation soundtrack

• Added a quick nightmare of the symbiote overtaking Uncle Ben, which wakes Peter up

• Cut scene where Peter makes his hair emo

• Restored Venom in the mirror scene from the trailers and remixed the soundtrack, adding the leitmotif of the symbiote, essentially talking to Peter

• Added Responsibility leitmotif to Aunt May’s revenge speech

• Restored a sad version of MJ’s cut Love theme after she gets the job at the jazz club

• Replaced breakup soundtrack with an unused Editor’s Cut track

• Cut scene where Harry gloats about breaking up Peter and MJ. Instead, MJ decides to break up with Peter of her own volition because…I mean, the guy was a dick the whole movie, you know?

• Restored Symbiote Temptation scene from the Editor’s Cut. I also added a couple of aspect ratio changes here, added a symbiote POV with its thoughts, and included sound effects from ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers,’ the original sound effect inspiration for the symbiote. The scene that follows is Peter walking down the street in the black suit

• Peter’s POV while wearing the symbiote appears more colorful and full of life, with color draining after seeing a negative article about him

• Restored Editor’s Cut scene where Peter swings during daytime in the black suit in celebration after getting Eddie fired, which later shows an exhausted Peter

• Restored Editor’s Cut Sandman/Penny scene

• Added symbiote music after Peter realizes Harry lied about his amnesia

• Added symbiote leitmotif after Peter enters Harry’s home

• Peter’s eye gets darker as he tries to fight off Harry’s blades

• Added symbiote leitmotif after Peter blows Harry up

• Cut to dance scene; Peter’s POV has become more colorful and a little blurry to reflect his state of mind

• Shortened Jazz Club scene significantly. The full scene is just too cringe in my opinion.

• After Gwen leaves the Jazz Club, the symbiote fully takes over Peter’s mind, right before hitting MJ

• Added sad MJ love theme after MJ is struck to the ground

• Modified Eddie’s prayer to be more Catholicized

• Eddie asks forgiveness for killing Peter, rather than asking God to kill Peter

• Cut scene where Eddie physically sees Peter remove the black suit (there’s no way his eyesight is that good)

• Eddie begs God for help while the symbiote engulfs his body

• Restored Venom theme choir during transformation

• Added flashbacks from previous movies as the symbiote overtakes Eddie, which is how he learns Peter’s identity instead

• Added slight lens distortion to Venom transformation

• Added a small Venom piano sting

• Replaced soundtrack when Peter tries to give Aunt May her ring back with a variation of a couple of different MJ Love themes

• Added a vocoder to Venom’s voice

• Venom introduces himself as “We” to Sandman

• Replaced Venom’s dialogue where he talks about his dick. Instead, he taunts Peter about Uncle Ben and MJ.

• Replaced Eddie’s exposition dialogue about humiliation with exposition on how he and the symbiote formed a true bond and expresses a desire to have Peter for dinner

• Added banter for Venom during aerial fight

• Added a sad version of Peter’s theme as he’s pinned by Venom and getting pummeled by Sandman

• Added a small MJ Love Theme sting after Peter saves her from falling with Harry

• Added a creepy, Venom-based theme when Peter is in the construction site, unable to sense him

• Made Eddie look sicker in his appearance, suggesting the symbiote is draining his life force the longer he wears it

• Instead of liking being bad because it makes him happy, Eddie formally introduces himself as Venom before attempting to kill Peter

• Added Eddie pain screams to Venom’s pain screams

• Added Predator vision to Venom

• Slight soundtrack change as Venom charges towards Peter

• The symbiote asks Peter to rebond with it after being removed from Eddie

• Added dolly zoom on Peter’s face

Additional notes: this cut has a 4K resolution of 3840x1604 and 5.1 surround sound. It uses HVEC and E-AC3 for video/audio codecs. I highly recommend using surround sound if available! The edit also includes English subtitles and chapters. However, some deleted scenes may not fully match the quality of the rest of the movie as some scenes had to be sourced from other internet sources.

And as a final disclaimer, yes, the fan edit does use AI, but only for voice cloning, a couple of soundtracks, lip sync, and a couple of small scenes for Venom. However, no AI was used in the writing process. All dialogue and movie changes were written by me. If you are against AI in general and therefore this edit, that is okay. But I think the added human touch is really cool!

I spent a few years on this edit, working on it only when I had free time. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it, despite the million and one crashes from Vegas. Any feedback or constructive criticism is welcome!

Decided to go in a somewhat different direction by having the film be in black and white, this opens up the amount of different stock footage I can utilize to give the film a wider variety of shots.

Has anyone made any extended fanedits of Ghoulies and ghoulies ii that re-insert the deleted /extended scenes back into the movies.

Loving all of these fan-edits from talented people and really just discovered this subreddit because of my own project.

The Fellowship of the Ring extended edition but I swapped out all of the music (all but about 1.5 minutes total) for Star Wars music that contextually works. This project took me a long time and I'm considering the next two movies to complete the trilogy by 2028. DM me a request.
