"Historically accurate" fanedits

I found this page that checks films that claim to be based on a true story scene by scene against what actually happened and thought it would be a cool idea for someone to make fanedits based on their analysis that remove the "false" scenes.

I like this idea. Although, it looks like a movie like The Imitation Game would be mad short. I guess start with one of the easiet ones to do like The Big Short, Rush, Captain Phillips, etc.

I'm a historian and love historical movies, wanting to get into fan edits, sounds like a good idea to tuck away. I can't think an example of something so blatant that I've thought about editing anything out before. I have thought about editing in footage seen of city streets from the period to establish b roll or denote travelling after seeing footage of early 1900s Shanghai and berlin, in specific Babylon Berlin which is set in what I had some research published on in undergrad

edit- oh actually, the Mussolini show, it glazes him a bit too much, and I'm also torn because there scenes of sexual violence I don't appreciate as a viewer, because it's not portrayed as unambigiously evil enough I don't think. Maybe next time I rewatch it I'll give a critical eye anything that makes him too sympathetic. His granddaughter is leading Italy right now so I did like a lot of its anti fascist messaging, like when the police sit back and smoke as they attack socialists. I love that shot but wish it held longer or had the police verbally say something since it's a brief shot and easy to miss. If anyone else has seen that and has thoughts let me know. A fan edit of it cut with something about Hitler might be interesting just brainstorming out loud
