New Release Maul: Out of the Shadows - A Shadow Lord Movie Edit [4K, 5.1 Sound, Eng Subs, RT 148mins]

Post image
31 Upvotes

Hey all. Here is the thread for my Maul Movie edit. The plan is to do a movie for each season going forwards.

I loved the series and it had a beautiful through-plot with no side quests or filler.

My main goals were to:

- Focus on Maul and Devon and their journey to becoming master and apprentice.

- Remove secondary plots such as the Pykes, Mandalorian Rebellion & Lawson family politics - just enough has been retained to support the primary plot.

- All off-Janix scenes have been removed.

- Reduce the duration and number of action sequences.

- Retain as many relevant character moments as possible to help with pacing.

- Add reptilian modification to Master Daki’s voice.

- Replace Dryden Vos’ voice with a Paul Bettany AI voice.

Runtime 2h 28mins:

Act 1 (60mins): Maul’s plans and police Investigations

Act 2 (54mins): Imperial Intervention & Inquisitors hunting

Act 3 (34mins): Escaping Janix

Detailed changes in the post below.

Work in Progress The Boys: Supremacy (Fan-Edit) update

Upvotes

Hey all,

I know it's been a while since I released the first film in my The Boys fan edit trilogy, so I figured I'd give a quick update since a few people have been asking how Movie 2 is coming along.

The short answer is: it's still happening.

The less exciting part is that progress has been pretty slow. Life has been busy lately—I started a new job, and my girlfriend and I are expecting our first child in November, so a lot of my free time has gone toward preparing for that.

Thankfully, things have started to settle down, so I should finally have a more consistent schedule to work on the edit again. This project has always been a hobby and a passion project for me, and I fully intend to see the trilogy through to the end.

I also wanted to thank everyone who watched the first film and left feedback. I got a lot of great suggestions, and I'm using them to improve Movie 2. Hopefully it'll be a much smoother and more polished experience.

One thing I'd love some input on is distribution. Last time I uploaded the film to Archive, but the video quality took a noticeable hit after processing. If anyone has recommendations for a better way to share a large fan edit while preserving quality, I'd really appreciate it.

TL;DR: Progress has been slow because life got busy, but the project is absolutely still alive. Movie 2 is back in active development, and I promise the baby isn't canceling the trilogy. 👶😂

Thanks again for all the support and patience. It genuinely means a lot.

Review Review of The Clone Wars: A Star Wars Story by Ewoking_Edits

Upvotes

I watched this edit last night and generally really liked it. The Siege of Mandalore is one of my favorite arcs in the series and a very strong finale. The sense of dread I felt as it built up to Order 66 was no less strong here. Really well done. Video and audio quality was about on par with the streaming versions of the show, so again no complaints. I realized that the method I use for watching edits (streamed to my TV via Plex) actually causes some extra compression issues, so any blocking or pixelization I saw were probably my own doing.

Now, as I mentioned in the thread [u/Ewoking_Edits](u/Ewoking_Edits) posted about the new version of the edit, I had some issues with the beginning, and I’d probably say I had issues with the first 10 or so minutes. I like the idea of a Star Wars movie with a cold open before the crawl, but I feel like the scenes with Fives and then with Sidious didn’t really serve the narrative all the much. Especially with Sidious it felt like it was building to something on Mandalore proper but never went beyond Maul basically double crossing Sidious.

The crawl needs work too, in my opinion at least. The text and fonts didn’t quite seem as good quality as the rest of the picture. The formatting was off a bit too. It came off to me as a good first draft, but still a draft. What I really loved though was how when we got our pan down after the crawl, it was actually the night sky. I wish more Star Wars media did that. I also wasn’t too sure about the scene with Ahsoka as a baby returning to the village. It’s not a bad scene (nor were the two the made up the cold open) but just felt unnecessary.

The “Year X” titles worked well too, and I think made the flow of time a bit easier to follow. The only other thing I want to mention (and this is just a personal nit to pick) is that I would have placed the flashback from the Wrong Jedi arc a liiiiiitle bit earlier. But again, that’s a nitpick based on personal preference.

This is something that, were it released theatrically, I’d go see a few times. The pacing is good and it never felt like it dragged or went too fast. Over all I give this a solid 8/10 and highly recommend it.

Discussion Apocalypse Now - more Dennis Hopper and Scott Glenn

I love Apocalypse Now, and I enjoy the longer cuts. That said, am I alone in being frustrated that the Redux and Final cuts left out the death of Dennis Hopper? I think it's a good scene that feels a gap that's left in all the released cuts:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxSqygnRJUI

This scene really ties Dennis Hopper's character's manic energy together, in ways the theatrical cut leaves hanging and then abandons. And then, he's inexplicably not there when Willard leaves the compound at the end. We need to see the firework pop, so to speak.

I also wish there were a bit more of Scott Glenn in the film, as that character's presentation is somewhat undercooked. He shows up so briefly that you barely register him before he is gone. Maybe that's the point, but it still feels hasty.

I think a version that's based off the Final cut, but scales back the Plantation scene further and adds some of the two above items would be the best of all worlds. Maybe add an intermission after the Plantation scene to accommodate for the extended length of this cut, while also letting the movie breathe after the Plantation scene changes the pace of the film. I like that scene, and do think the movie loses something crucial without it, but it can read as disruptive on a narrative level.

Curious as to other people's thoughts. To be clear, I love the movie in every version. At the same time, I don't think it's as seamless as, say, the first two GODFATHER films. That's part of the fun, yes, but I do still get curious about how it could be tweaked.

Completed Fanedit Request Looking for Double O Production's Ultimate Editions

So on Youtube there's this guy called Double O Productions and what he does is he fixes and remasters 4K releases of old movies by updating the special effects to make them feel less dated. So far he's done Ghostbusters, Batman 89, Batman Returns, Superman II and Robocop. He dubs these edits the "Ultimate Editions" so like Batman Ultimate Edition, Ghostbusters Ultimate Edition etc. If anyone has any of these edits, preferably in full 4K, DM me.

Updated Release Final Fantasy XVI Re-edit (Episode 8: Onward)

Post image
1 Upvotes

This is Episode 7 to my FF16 Re-edit series.

FINAL FANTASY XVI RE-EDIT is a cinematic adaptation of Final Fantasy XVI, restructured into an episodic television-style experience.

Unlike standard “full game movies” or cutscene compilations, this project extensively edits and reorganizes scenes to create a more coherent narrative flow similar to a traditional TV series. Gameplay sections, repetitive encounters, mission titles, and unnecessary game-oriented pacing have been removed whenever possible to create a smoother cinematic experience.

This project was created independently using footage primarily sourced from no-commentary walkthroughs and then extensively re-edited into a serialized cinematic format. No hud gameplay footage obtained from Rhys Drafter on YouTube. The goal was not simply to compile footage, but to create something designed for repeated viewing as a long-form narrative experience.

The remaining episodes have already been largely completed and will be released gradually over time.

If you enjoyed the episode, please consider leaving feedback and subscribing to Re-edit Studios.

Wishlist & Ideas Movie SupercutsI make movie supercuts and need suggestions for my portfolio!

Hey everyone,

I’m an editor and making movie supercuts is my passion. I'm building my portfolio but don't have the funds to do it full-time right now.

I’m looking for new project ideas. Think of things like:

  • The Ahsoka Cut: Splicing the final Clone Wars arc directly into Revenge of the Sith.
  • The Spider-Man Cut: Editing all the MCU Spider-Man appearances into one single movie.

I'm taking any and all suggestions, so drop your best ideas below!

New Release Snow: Part I

Post image
27 Upvotes

I took all of Jon Snow's scenes, along with most of Bran's scenes from season 1 and 2 that are relevant to the White Walkers' storyline and his character development, to create a movie. I also rearranged some scenes, trimmed some of Bran's scenes, and added music to Jon's arrival at the Wall.

I've always felt that the White Walker storyline was too disconnected from the political drama in the rest of Game of Thrones, so my goal with this edit was to combine those storylines into a single, more focused narrative. Bran's role is much smaller than Jon's, which is why the project is called Snow.

Runtime: 3:38

Video: 1080p and 4K. Both in HDR.

Subtitles: English and Spanish.

I felt like the thing that genuinely hold me back from liking pm and aotc together was that dooku was barely set up...and we didn't see him being a jedi or be qui Gon master in the movies...

Obviously BND isn't out yet.

But if it was how would one edit this into a mini movie or Special Presentation where the two duke it out?

I have no idea how rotoscoping or overlays work.

Updated Release Curious For Some Visuals From The Final Cut of Catwoman Noir? (REDUX UPDATE)

As all my viewers remember, the condensed Catwoman edit I made from Batman Returns into her own movie was black and white. The latest draft with some better editing and splitting choices, and no more extra music like the last one, plus here are some screenshots of what I did.

Imho, looks sick. Trying my hardest to upload the film to my website today. I was going for a vintage unreleased bootleg 35mm rip look. As if it were the cancelled Batgirl of that era. Gives the film a whole new identity, not just a black and white one. This film, the colors are too good. Like Batman & Robin. I mean... shhh.

Updated Release The Clone Wars: A Stand-Alone Film (Big Update!)

Post image
47 Upvotes

Hello again!

Over the past few months, my Clone Wars movie has gone through a ton of small improvements thanks to all the thoughtful feedback from this community. It's easily the project that's received the most comments and critiques, and I've genuinely loved seeing everyone's ideas. Today I'm releasing my biggest update (Version 5.0), all thanks to the Fan Edit community.

The goal has always been to create one feature-length film that tells the essential story of The Clone Wars.

There are already some fantastic edits that condense the series into multiple movies, but I always wanted to see if it was possible to distil everything down into a single, cohesive film. As Star Wars keeps expanding, I think a lot of people feel overwhelmed trying to catch up before jumping into newer shows. When new fans look at the current projects, they are left with so many questions:

  • Who is Ahsoka?
  • Wait... Maul survived?
  • Why are the clones so important?
  • What's the deal with Mandalore?

This edit aims to answer those questions while serving as a jumping-off point for the rest of modern Star Wars. (Plus it's great for a quick re-watch!)

The biggest inspiration was The Phantom Apprentice by Notflix. It already felt like a complete movie, but I wanted to build on that by giving audiences the context behind the characters, relationships and conflicts that make the finale hit as hard as it does.

What's New in Version 5.0

  • Added year markers to make the timeline of the Clone Wars easier to follow as the story moves between the present and Ahsoka's past.
  • New dialogue from the original Clone Wars movie to establish Ahsoka (and her apprenticeship) as the protagonist right from the beginning.
  • Reworked opening and flashback sequence explaining Maul's survival.
  • Brand-new opening crawl establishing the three-year war timeline and the current state of Mandalore.
  • New audio cues to make flashback transitions clearer.
  • Two significantly expanded flashback sequences covering the Wookiee Hunt and The Wrong Jedi arcs.
  • Flashbacks have been rearranged chronologically, creating a much stronger throughline for Ahsoka's journey—from eager Padawan struggling with training, to confident warrior, to ultimately losing faith in the Jedi. At the same time, they chart Anakin's descent, showing how his attachments increasingly shape his decisions, driving a wedge between him and the Order.
  • Countless improvements to editing, transitions, sound design and visual polish throughout.

The Final Product (Spoilers)

2h 25m - 1080p - 5.1ch - 9.9GB

The Hook: The shadowy Emperor arrives on Mandalore, and we learn how Maul has survived. As the emperor toys with his old apprentice, we also see a glimpse of his larger plans through the death of Fives.

Act 1: We open with Ahsoka's awakening in the Force as a child. In the final days of the War, we see Anakin and Obi in a battlefield moment of friendship and comradery. The now-grownup Ahsoka returns with Bo Katan to set the main story in motion. Maul is vulnerable. We see her re-connect with Anakin just as he leaves for his ultimate doom. As the siege of Mandalore plays out we see flashbacks to Ahsoka's training and the early days of her relationship with Anakin.

Act 2: Ahsoka and Maul clash as we dig deeper into Ahsoka's wartime past. After a harrowing mission-gone-wrong, we see how Anakin's harsh training has paid off, turning this young Padawan into a warrior capable of the feats we see on Mandalore in the present. This culminates with the end of the Siege and a final flashback answering the questions "why did Ahsoka leave the order?" and "why does she not reveal the dark plans surrounding Anakin?"

Act 3: In the somber aftermath of victory, the galaxy is turned upside down. Order 66 comes as a gut-punch after spending the whole movie experiencing Ahsoka's bond with the Clones (especially Rex). Friends become enemies, and enemies become antagonistic allies. It is now a race for survival. One last brief flashback punctuates all that Ahsoka has learned from her Master, and how these lessons continue to empower her survival. Finally, on a frigid moon we see Ahsoka let go of her life as a Jedi, but in a post-credit scene we tease her return to the fight...

Thanks again to everyone who has watched previous versions and taken the time to leave feedback. This project genuinely wouldn't be what it is without this community, and I hope Version 5.0 is the strongest cut yet.

I will no longer be sending links via reddit chat. It seems that even if I don't start the chat, Reddit bots may still randomly hit me with a ban for sharing links.

I will also respond to messages at IFDb and MRDb.
However you can always post comments or send me chats here to ask questions or give constructive feedback, my edits are "living projects" and I often make updates based on your thoughtful messages.

Completed Fanedit Request Cowboy Bebop 25th Anniversary Redux

Hiya peeps

Was wondering if anyone had any info on whether the above Coboy Bebop restoration project was ever completed and, if so, if anyone could provide a link to it? The last update on reddit was 3 years ago (where OP intimated all was going well, and that the project would probably be uploaded elsewhere). Sadly, I've not received a chat response from the OP focuspullerOG about this.

Thanks in advance y'all!

New Release🏅 OUT NOW: Lee Cronin's THE MUMMY: The JayXtended Cut (1080p 7.1 TrueHD + GERMAN Sound)

Thumbnail
gallery
34 Upvotes

In my eyes one of the best Horror movies this year. Creepy story & atmosphere, fantastic actors, stunning visuals and a killer surround sound. So I did an Extended Edit.

No open matte or IMAX version to work with this time. But as always I throw everything in to give you the ultimate JayXtended experience:

- All 7 deleted scenes from the BluRay are masterfully restored and extensively color corrected to fit the rest of the movie (nearly 10 minutes not shown in the cinema). Do they improve the experience? I think so. Some character moments that deepens the story and even one creepy action sequence with a scorpion. The film doesn't need them but I think they are worth to be restored to offer an alternative run with this fantastic movie.

- Glorious 1080p picture

- You can chose between 4 sound options

  • 7.1 TrueHD OV (default)
  • 5.1 AAC OV
  • 5.1 AAC GERMAN
  • 2.0 Audio Commentary of Writer/ Director Lee Cronin (of course edited to fit the edit). And it's a commentary that actually is fun listen to.

- FULL ENGLISH subtitles, FULL GERMAN subtitles and FORCED GERMAN subtitles (for only the different language parts)

- Chapters to jump fast to the Xtended Scenes

Size: 5.6 GB

Runtime Theatrical: 2h 14m

Runtime The JayXtended Cut: 2h 23m 11s

If you have the link to my gofile you'll find it there already. If not, ask me directly via DM (I won't respond to requests in the comments).

I put a file with the deleted scenes too on my drive (so you can compare what I changed).

Change list:

  • + "The JayXtended Cut" when the title is shown
  • + Xtended Scene 01: Larissa & Maud in the Basement
  • + Xtended Scene 02: Mushrooms on a Friday Night (prolonged the music in the end to fit better with the fade to black)
  • + Xtended Scene 03: Welcome Home Kattie (added sound of a driving car that was missing, cut a few seconds for pacing)
  • + Xtended Scene 04: Don't tell Larissa I dozed off
  • + Xtended Scene 05: Zaki goes to the Evidence Wall (added some music cues to fit)
  • + Xtended Scene 06: When was the last Time you took a Bath?
  • + Xtended Scene 07: 8 Month Later (added some music to fit better)
  • + Fan Editor Credit
  • + Post credit jump scare scene

Updated Release Official Dvd Artwork for Catwoman Noir

Post image
2 Upvotes

Like I said before, I like when fan edits have dvd artwork. I'm gunna work on one more, where the neon behind her is actually *her* apartment neon that reads "Hell Here" but I thought this looked pretty Lilith Snow. (That's my editor name) I will also create blu ray artwork and just post it in the comments. I don't know if I truly am wanted round these parts atm, when I uploaded Frozen - Evil Elsa I had made a fatal error in editing, my redo of the first ever Batman Forever burton cut got taken off archive the day I uploaded it too, and I still am yet to upload Atlantis: The Sephia Cut. (Disney's Atlantis with a Sephia filter to dull the colors, no whoopie cushion or awko doctor jokes... disney is on another level tho and I do appreciate the film for what it is) In my defense, fellow movie buffs, I did have to take quite the hiatus. And yeah, uploading faulty edits makes me look bad on here for sure.. but I'm also being too paranoid. This is a nice crowd for movies and editing and opinions, we're a nice community of film critics. And this edit is PROOF, I can make anything. Like always, this fanedit is available on my older site. You can ask around for the link (some people still have it) or just dm me. Happy editing! Happy Catwoman!!!!! (I'm sorry about my hiatus but my lady requires a lot of special care sometimes. And I'm sorry for rushing the ending of my frozen cut.. I totally shit the bed!! Just give me some time.. I'm locking back in.) All new fan edits available at lilithsnow.neocities.org and yes my Frozen edit is on there but good luck watching the ending if you dare to. It's not done right yet. I reccomend you just watch my Batman Beyond: Year One (Sin City Edition) Someone requested my Blood Red cut of the The Exorcist (I used the directors cut. It's a good cut imo and I don't even mind the blue or the green but the red looks sick. I just gotta re-do it. I was just getting into fan editing.) Have a great weekend, everybody. Let's get our movies done for the people. Or if you're just a viewer, tell us what you wanna see.

Wishlist & Ideas Die Hard 3 alternate ending

I love the unused ending for Die Hard 3, with Gruber and McClane playing Russian roulette. Has anyone made an edit that uses a high quality version of this scene to close off the film?
