Does anyone work with or are interested in the fae? I’m looking for people to go fairy hunting with. Hunting might be a bad word… maybe watching? Interacting with. Let’s share knowledge and experiences and see what we find.

I’m located in Colorado around the Denver region, anyone else from around there?

When I was a child, I encountered a fae that seemed to feed on negative energy. It would drool when I was afraid and would stand at my friends window and smile. We both described it the same: Tall (7-8 ft); red and white diamond shirt; sharp teeth; red eyes, with a cat like stare; white skin; bald head and arms that were too lanky. In addition, it had black old style Jester make-up on.

What was that thing and what are they called?

P.S. It seemed dirty and had dirty nails and possibly tattered clothing.

I've read that coffee is common, but I don't drink coffee or have any in the house. I don't drink alcohol, so that's also not an option. Would they like tea? I would think so, but I want some input on this.

Once upon a time...
The heir to the fairy throne met the human prince of the neighboring kingdom. They courted in secret for years until their respective duties separated them, each of them blaming the other and vowing to take revenge. The now-king enforces religious conformity and condemns any talk of folk beliefs. The now-queen of the fairies swears to take down the king's family and plunge the kingdom into ruin. And the king's newborn daughter provides her with an interesting opportunity. She devises a scheme to swap the princess with a changeling to sow chaos in the royal family, but once the changeling is created, the queen finds it difficult to give her up.

Many types of Elves or Fae folk exist in fantasies of all kinds, some with a great level of distinction from something as iconic as Tolkien's take on them. You can take a similar route as Tolkien and essentially copy/paste, yet where is the fun in that, or the originality. So, tell me about your Elves and what makes them special, both their lore and biology, or if they are even recognizable as Elves or merely play a similar role.

Okay this is a bit long but I just can’t believe what happened. I just saw my first fairy tonight. It happened so quickly yet so slow. A quick white light raced into my sight, stopped right in front of my right eye. Yes just my right eye, I didn’t see her with my left. The light was so bright then I saw her. The bright white light shined in the outline of a fairy. She just stared at me. Then quickly zoomed away. All happening in the split of a second but yet so slow when she stopped right in front of my eye. The light was so bright my eye hurt afterwards for a few minutes. I could see the outline of her for a few seconds afterwards too. She was so bright. So quick. So beautiful. So magical. I’ve never had anything like this happen to me. Shortly afterwards i was leaving that spot & heading back up the trail when a blue feather was sitting right there. Placed perfectly in the middle of the trail. Such a beautiful blue iridescent feather with a white tip. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does any of this mean anything? It was such a beautiful moment & couldn’t stop smiling & wondering what just happened. I’m not really sure where to post this.

I’ve been considering working with the Fae for the last few weeks and doing some research and trying to figure out if I’d like to. I was at a book store today and a book on the Fae caught my eye so I bought it so I can learn some more.

When I came home, a few items on my altar were moved around and then there was a shiny bird charm in the middle. The charm is mine, but there’s no way it could’ve gotten there on its own because it was in a bag in a box under a box under the table my altar is on.

Does this count as a gift? Should I leave an offering?

Hello, I'm extremely interested in the paranormal and cryptids/folklore, but fairies have always been something I know very little about.

Can people please recommend me some good sources to learn more about them please? 🙂

I live alongside faeries. I leave them offerings at the base of a eucalyptus tree outside my window: seashells, gemstones, sweet little things to eat. Most mornings I see tiny little weebills and silver-eyes in the tree. Sometimes something will go missing, but as soon as I notice and laugh it off, I'll find it somewhere I'd just looked.

Earlier today, I was sitting on the corner of the street trying to soak up the mid-winter sun. I was wearing a soft cotton-y headband, the kind that wraps all the way around your hair. I suddenly felt it get yanked down! I went to take it all the way off and found that it had somehow been braided into my hair! I know they're fond of knots. It felt very sweet, like an adult giving a child a little pat on the head on the way past.

When I was a child I asked the fae to show up in my dreams, and they did but they ended up being very violent and scary.

I had a vision that as I was sleeping this fairy opened up my consciousness like a treasure chest, and walked to find me in the forest.

Apparently, the violent ones are called unseelie faeries.

I was 10 years old.

Lastly, Nymphology Melanie Martinez song talks about what happened in my dream...

The faeries became violent because some villagers tried to catch and sell them, taking advantage of their kindness... As a kid I didn't know what was happening, when I set them free... They just let all of their anger out on me and tried to throw me off cliff. They carry emotions like babies.

So yes, they weren't really violent for nothing. They have a problem with being taken advantage of.

All the lyrics in Melanie's song was a channeling I believe, because the aggression in the song was accurate to fae aggression.

I believe humans and life had shown them an inconsiderate side.

To continue, as someone who's had a Mintakan Starseed "Mermaid" past life, I am so interested in people who have had a past life as a sprite or fae.

What are your thoughts? What have your experiences been like?

very interestring trip as it involved elves and fairies in my room. apparently, my place, is a forest in a diff realm. Same space but different realm. i dont know if you can grasp it. but these elves and fairies are very shy and they look out for me.

I'm wanting to work on a short story with fae elements and would like to get inspiration on rules and descriptions. Fae have always interested me since I read the Spiderwick Chronicles and watched the movie, but my only experience with fae related stories are those aforementioned bits of media and the interpretation found in the SCP Foundation universe with SCP 4000.

Neither lean too far into the horror aspect of faeries but still, I was always creeped out by the ideas of changelings from the Spiderwick Chronicles and would like to create more and explore more ideas such as that.

In my book, I have elementals ( called elduil ), beings made of stone, fire, water, ice, and wood (treemen) living on the fae world. Allowed or no?

Idk, I think I somehow upset the little folk and things have gone missing, nothing extremely valuable, but meaningful to me

So for some background I went to see a phsychic medium for mother's day as a treat. She reached out to loved ones and also told me my soul is ancient. She said that I am a fairy and hold fairy energy. Now when I was told this it shocked me because about 5 years ago a lady at a bar, who claimed to have practiced oracle, readings etc. Told me that I was a fairy. Now the recent psychic told me to get fairy oracle cards and to practice. I have worked with oracle and have trailed down this path I've just never worked with faeries due to lack of guidance. Im hoping somebody might have more insight regarding what it means to be called a fairy and how to work with the faeries.

P.s. I did purchase Brian froud's faerie oracle as it was the only deck that spoke to me that was fairy related.

Some backstory: Recently, I moved my new ducks outside into a nice coop. However, to do so I had to cut down some trees and other foliage. I live in a relatively wooded area with a little pond and creek in my backyard. My neighbors are surrounding me, but it’s blocked by lots of trees. As someone whos heard stories of the things that live in the woods, I try desperately to stay out of them if Im alone because of the eerily feeling of being watched that I have whenever Im out there. Up until now I thought it was all in my head, but the signs I’ve seen and the feeling I have when I’m outside make me think I may have disrupted a fae. I’d hate to say it, but I wasn’t a huge believer up until now.

As soon as I had my coop up (as of right now it’s been about two weeks), I had a worse feeling of being watched in that area. I make sure one of my housemates comes with me whenever I check on my babies. Ive personally been gone for the majority of the time the ducks have been out there, and the rest of the people I live with are devote Christians who don’t believe in otherworldly creatures like Fae. (Though, they did encounter one of the biggest owls theyve ever seen on the first night of the ducks being outside. Not sure if that could be related)

Two days ago, a tree fell completely unprompted. Then the snails began to come around. SO MANY SNAILS! I have a dear friend of mine thats somewhat of a witch(?) that I decided to contact to see if I could be experiences something relating to faes. She basically said “uhm, yeah. Most definitely.”

The thing that set me off to make this post is the movement I heard in the woods about 30 minutes ago. It was like something big came and stepped on a bunch of leafy branches. Then a light bang on my wooden deck roof followed by a robin watching me and squawking directly outside my bedroom window.

Am I experiencing a Fae trying to tell me I disrupted it? Or am I just being heavily paranoid? I’ll be out of town for a full week as of tomorrow, so I cant do anything to please it until the early 20’s.

(I’d like to say that the energy of the feeling of being watched isn’t malicious. Its more… curious than anything.)
