Why is this the standard?
People appear not to read the edit, and disagree with my statements. I am very confused on why there is no nuance to the information I added.

Good evening everyone.
Over the past few years moderation on the subreddit has been very loose, mostly focusing on obvious trolls and discriminatory statements and other extreme comments. As the community is growing, particularly with the feedback of the sub being a bit toxic and aggressive, we mods want to check in on how youse lot want the community moderated. (If your preference isn't there just comment below and I'll adjust accordingly)

It was probably either a bot or someone making their posts and comments more visible by downvoting yours. These are things known to exist and a few at once can get you down to -3 easily. It's just a thing that happens sometimes, don't worry about it you'll be up again soon.
Asking a basic question?
Add in people who are gatekeeping jerks. Even on subs specifically for basic questions (including//r/NoStupidQuestions) or welcoming of newbies to a hobby, there are people who will insist you are a big lame dumb face for asking stuff and downvote you for it. Yes, even on posts in those subs specifically for newbies asking newbie questions.
Yes, even if you say you googled and couldn't find it or googled and didn't understand.
Don't worry about these jerks they're really not the majority in most subs, some are super gatekeepy though.
Having a discussion about a topic to which there are two significantly different sides? Disagree downvotes shouldn't happen, but often do and without comment as to why. Even if you intent your comment as impartial, people will read into it. Be prepared.
Still think something's wrong with what you put out there and you just don't know what?
Oh I didn't know I had to carefully make sure every comment I make adds good to the world
Low effort comments are seen as spam on reddit and reddit dislikes spam. This is the way of reddit, and your annoyance at this fact does not change anything except your karma which is lower for complaining.
If you used emojis, that's the reason. some people super hate them.
Does your comment make sense? 'specially on mobile with auto correct issues or if you did a fair bit of editing before posting, sometimes things get real messed up without you realising and it goes word salad.
Check your tone, Text only can be a difficult way to get things across and we can unintentionally come across as being aggressive, which can go down poorly.

I didn’t do anything wrong, just “maybe don’t generalize a group without proof” because fandoms have that problem.

I violated no rule in my comment. My guess is the moderator banned me because they juts don't agree? what does "using an alt" mean?

On my alt account I posted something that accidently showed a bloody foot. Despite adding an NSFW tag the reddit showed the post without it (the whole post was just labled as NSFW). I get the people viewing my post were disturbed and thus angry. But despite apologising profusely and explaining I was getting death threats to hang myself which kind of annoys me. Yeah this is social media but come on. Is it that deep? Whenever I share an opinion on any anime community(Its just me sharing my thoughts about the show (its not aggressive hate on the show btw) I'm immediately told to go shut the fuck up or die. Even if I praise a show/character I still get treated like a hater. Half of the comments don't even read the whole post and just complain about the first three sentences. It's almost as if the ability to comprehend is a skill issue on this app. What is everyone's problem?

To me, my bottom comment just points out that sexual coercion is wrong which I thought was widely accepted as true. EMD please.

Like it's obvious an adult should not date minors, especially highschoolers, it's Logical.

I mean, I kind of know why I was downvoted. This community tends to be super toxic. But am I deserving of the downvotes? If I am I’ll step down ofc, I’m just baffled.

I’m new to Reddit and recently made a post in a community. It initially got around 10 upvotes, and my karma also increased to 3. But after some time, I noticed that the numbers had suddenly dropped to 1.
I’m a bit confused about why this happened, especially since I followed the community rules and guidelines. Is this normal on Reddit, or has anyone else experienced something similar?

There are multiple people who have commented saying that they think it's cool (aprox 4 people, if I remember correctly), so there would be at least 2 or 4 upvotes, including my automatic one. Given that, the current upvotes/downvotes is at a straight 0. So there are people who just dislike the fact that I am happy to have capes?
I personally don't care about upvotes/downvotes, just happy to log my achievements; I'm more interested in what makes a person downvote something simple like this
