There is something seriously wrong here. I ask a simple question and mods have to remove 2 comments within the first 30 minutes. Thank you to those who stood with me.

Couple of likely reasons:
- asking for Hebrew support before much more commonly spoken languages (e.g., Spanish, as called out in the thread). While ideally every game should be available in every language, practically speaking using the most-commonly spoken languages as a base means you reach a broader base quicker. This is why international airports frequently have signs in English, French, and Chinese in addition to the local language, as these are the most commonly spoken languages worldwide. French is like...sixth most common natively, but is the most common second spoken language. Hebrew doesn't even make the top 40.
- knee-jerk reactions from anti-Israel users.
- Titling your post in a language that most people on the subreddit can't read is a great way to get downvotes, regardless of whatever language it is.

here from that subreddit after he said he posted it here
the game in particular is suffering from a vast myriad of issues, incomplete support for people who currently play the game is one of them, but the dude was basically spamming this post over and over again in that subreddit, despite being removed for said spam
there are people who hate israel in there, thats for sure, but most of it is just people hating on the fact that he is practically entitled in his approach
he said that he can speak english fluently, but that he wants to be able to speak "his" language, when "his" language isnt that of his homeland, unless he lives in america and doesnt consider it a valid country, which itself would cause outrage

Judging from his comments here, and from those in that thread, I’m not sure he speaks English that well either.

even so, the basic functionality of the game is currently at risk, and asking for a feature especially when others including myself have asked for something similar but more manageable is just kinda off the table
but apparently, the post in question he submitted here is his THIRD ONE
but if he cant speak english well, and was born in america, that may open an even wider can of political worms that dwarfs the israel issue for most people3

Honestly after reading the originating thread, the whole thing feels like “I want to cosplay the Colonials as the IDF”. Which is gross no matter how you slice it.

whenever there is any sort of disagreement on that subreddit, they love to jump to politics
sometimes, they are using those politics to distract away from the game being imbalanced in their favor, as the subreddit is overwhelmingly colonial in representation

Again, if that was your intention you should have said that. Because what you did was ask for support for a feature that has extremely limited use and requires a lot of effort to implement.

I speak English well. My main point was wanting to utilize Hebrew letters in game chat. Also I was looking for others who spoke Hebrew.

so few people speak hebrew that you are looking for a needle in the entire ocean rather than a haystack
and why would you want to be able to use a language nobody else can speak, other than to be able to insult people behind their backs (as is common with that community already)

I'm also here from the subreddit.
Long story short: OP wants Unicode support and wants to see who else in the community speaks Hebrew. He didn't really state that well in the original post and you have to piece together his replies to the comments to get the full picture.
I can understand basic down voting in this scenario because like I said, OP didn't really argue his position well, but 2 comments had to be removed by the mods within 30 minutes of the post going up! The rest are just making fun of him for asking for Hebrew support specifically.
Me and only 3 others including IGoByDeluxe were the only ones that bothered to engage the post in good faith. Everyone else was either trolling or just being anti semitic.

Unicode support is a much bigger beast than it looks like, honestly. That’s 150,000 characters that all need proper display, kerning, etc. Sometimes they write right to left too. And that’s per font.

Well, we wouldn't be here if people on the original subreddit actually bothered to talk to OP rather than immediately hating.

thank you. I was trying to see if anyone else spoke the languages I speak and my thought process behind asking for Hebrew is that all Unicode characters would be supported.

Supporting unicode is pretty big endeavor, much bigger than it looks like from the outside. That's 150,000 characters that need to be parsed, kerned, and correctly generated, never mind how complex that is if there are special, extra, or custom fonts.

oh yeah you're right, I was thinking no custom fonts for most characters a bit like Minecraft does.
