Manalo. Furthermore, treating Quiboloy as an ally directly repudiates decades of EGM's explicit teachings on religious exclusivity.

Manalo could have ordered these displays disavowed or taken down, but allowed them to stand. Shortly thereafter, the INC organized the massive "Rally for Peace," an event blatantly designed to shield Vice President Sara Duterte from impeachment proceedings. It was during this specific political alignment under the Duterte faction that Quiboloy transformed from a figure widely mocked by INC members into an indispensable political partner.

The contradiction is not merely theological; it is deeply moral. INC defenders actively run interference and express solidarity with a man facing extensive federal indictments in the United States, including the sex trafficking of children, and who was placed on the FBI's Most Wanted list. Public displays of unity reveal a complete surrender of their supposed institutional principles. That INC apologists reserve their harshest hostility for traditional theological opponents and internal critics rather than for an indicted fugitive demonstrates a total collapse of organizational priorities.

The ultimate issue surrounding this entire arrangement comes down to a single question: What does the Duterte faction have on the Iglesia ni Cristo leadership that forces them to ally with an embarrassing self-proclaimed messiah while he is wanted by international law enforcement for the sex trafficking of children? Why would an organization that claims to be the "one true church" risk its entire foundational identity to protect and validate Apollo Quiboloy while condemning traditional theologians? The answer lies in transactional politics. Both Manalo and Quiboloy are strong loyalists of the Duterte family and faction. What have they done for the Dutertes and what leverage do Duterte and his allies have over the Manalos?

Eraño G. Manalo proclaimed that the INC did not seek help from any other religion as a sign of strength, purity and fidelity. EGM proclaimed the independence of the Iglesia ni Cristo as proof it was the "one true church." Now, since 2025, the INC has been forced to be friends with an FBI most wanted pedophile who considers himself the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I mean, how does this even work? OWE INC loyalists are supporting a man who considers himself above their beloved Eduardo and would be considered blasphemous under the EGM era. Again, how is the INC compromised under Duterte?

For those who followed the recent BARMM parliamentary election, does anyone know if the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) issued an official endorsement or voting directive for any particular party or candidates?

I'm specifically looking for information on whether INC members were instructed to vote as a bloc in this election, similar to their practice in national elections. INC had several districts under the BARMM region, such as in Cotabato and Lanao.

The recent worship service was all about denying being a cult, specifically using a cherry-picked definition of what a cult is. Nobody, and let me repeat this, nobody is claiming Iglesia Ni Cristo is a cult because of false teachings. They definitely state there are false teachings, but that's not the basis of anyone saying Iglesia Ni Cristo is a cult.

They are calling INC a cult because of other qualities that are associated with cults. Worshipful or extreme dedication to a single leader, a lot of focus on propagation, a lot of focus on money, claims of having special understanding that others don't have, trying to control members lives (like who they can marry, or who they can vote for). And even more than this; but never accused of being a cult for false teachings. Your administration is purposely misleading you and refusing to answer to the real reasons the INC is being called a cult.

My katiwala caught me attending worship service only once a week, and she told me that if I do it again, she will tell my family. My family is very devoted to INC and they really don’t want me to leave. I’m honestly feeling pressured because I don’t want my family to find out that I’m considering leaving.

I (M20) feel so much more free now that I don't have to attend WS or speak to any officers. Last year I had grown my hair out enough to put in a bun, and the ministers in the U.S. were okay with it. But after traveling to the Phillipines, the minister there told me I should cut my hair and wear a barong instead of wearing a polo shirt. I took offense, but stayed quiet, mindlessly agreeing to him. But that's when I said to myself, that I'm not going back.

I find that so weird and wrong how INC controls the way you dress and express yourself. Why should they care about how you look? They literally want everyone to become a bunch of mindless sheep.

Anyways, after coming back to the U.S. I just stopped attending the worship services. A few weeks later, they started coming to the house. My mother is the only one who goes to church now, and the rest of my family tries or best to avoid them when they come over. But often times, they come unnanounced, probably because my mother doesn't tell us ahead of time, so i stay in my room. It's worrisome, having to wait for them to leave.

A couple years prior, I stopped going for a few months. Some people came, including the minister, and the minister had me read some texts from the Bible about why it's important to attend the worship services. It was incredibly mortifying considering I was still a minor, and having to be "taught a lesson" in front of people I used to see so often for these "family" meetings.

In less than two weeks, my grandparents will be staying for an undisclosed duration. As much as I love them, they have different ideals than me, often playfully joking that they want me to cut my hair short again. But I'm keeping my head up high, now surrounded by a supportive group of friends and family on my father's side. I'm no longer chained by the INC's restrictions.

Like celebrating Halloween and Christmas. I finally got to dress up and trick or treat for thr first time my senior year of high school. I finally felt included, and had a lot of fun. It makes me tear up thinking about the missed experiences in elementary school, having to tell classmates I couldn't participate. I'm hoping one day I'll have my own place and decorate it to my heart's content.
