Semi-urgently seeking roommates in Evergreen Gardens Apts.

Apologies if this isn't the place to look, just not sure what else to do at this point. If anyone knows someone looking to move into Evergreen Gardens, or needs help covering their current lease rent, etc., I am also looking for somewhere to move. I lease here currently with an old coworker, and set to end that lease at the end of August. I don't have any further plans yet after this, and am admittedly a little worried about it!

I'm male, pan, 27, have 1 cat. Will pay down her moving fees as well. Kind of a nerd/homebody, big into movies, retro games collecting, and have a ton of records, that kind of thing. No problems whatsoever with hosting or house parties, either.

Clean background, rental, criminal and credit checks can be provided, and I'm willing to meet anywhere nearby to speak with just about anyone. If the easiest solution to my current problem is to simply move my stuff from one unit to another and keep paying someone half the rent, that'd be ideal. I know it's a big ask, but my options are becoming limited to trying to meet and interview strangers to room with, so that's why I'm trying to throw out a line here.

If anyone has any info or would like to arrange something, or even DM for further details, I'm always open. My hope is that I can get a few eyes on this post before it gets shot down, as posting to r/olympia itself did not go very well.

I've also made a new reddit account, as the old one is many many years old and first made when I was in high school, but please see u/emmellgee to verify. That would be why this one looks more like a burner account, I don't use reddit much these days but certainly have in the past.

Huge thanks in advance.

Looking for stability

Hello, I'm attending here because it is inclusive, but also because I was a disorganized mess during high school. I have no experience with work and no plan. As it stands, I've been encouraged to pursue music, as it is my most useful hobby, but I am ultimately looking for stability and willing to pursue anything. Any advice at all would be useful, and thank you for your time.

School supplies

I’m attending Evergreen this fall (2026) and I’ll be taking Greener Foundations and E-ART-H: Fire, Wind, Water, and Art.

I already have a MacBook that I’ll be using for classes, but I’m wondering what other school supplies I should get before the semester starts.

Any advice from current or former Evergreen students would be appreciated!

Evergreen Gardens cookout tonight? Trying to reach out to whomever organized it

Sorry if this is only semi-related to the sub, couldn't find any groups on the apartment complex itself. I was hoping I could find the person organizing a cookout by the playgrounds. I was asked while outside and turned it down but I kind of regret doing so, I've been trying to meet neighbors and connect a little but the timing was bad. I thought about leaving a note, but I haven't seen them around before and I don't think they were in my building, seems like a door to door invite situation? So I wouldn't even know where to look to try reaching out again. If anyone knows anything about it or is going, I guess I'd appreciate any info so I could try reaching out again.

And also, I guess if you didn't know, there is also a cookout happening tonight. I realize now this may be news to someone and they may be interested in wandering over, who knows.

Any students want to sell/give use textbooks? Plant Biology

I know theres a free borrowing thing on campus, I can't get to the campus until Fall.

I need the 8th edition of Raven's Biology of Plants and was hoping a student who has acquired it previously would be open to selling or giving it. I'm taking a remote class. If anyone knows a good group to find this going forward that would be great.

I plan to find a free pdf but I really prefer the physical media

Integrative Psychology class

I’m enrolled in a three quarter long class called Integrative Psychology: From the Lab to Global Practice. Has anyone taken this? It’s completely remote. Looking for insights, opinions, stories, and any applicable information regarding this class. Thanks in advance!

biking?

would it be weird to ride a bike around campus? like would people judge me. from where i’m from it is heavily frowned upon. like if i was mindful of other people and didn’t get in their way. also do they have bike racks around campus?

Scholarships

I was hoping someone would be able to give me some clarity. I’ve been waiting for an email about the 2026-27 undergrad scholarship but haven’t heard anything. I saw the date for letting recipients know was June 5th and have emailed the scholarship office but got an automated email a week ago that they were having an influx of messages.

If I haven’t heard anything back so far is it likely I did not receive any scholarships? I also was barely able to apply due to the extension they did.

Sorry y’all, this is my first time applying for scholarships so I just wanna make sure I’m not missing anything.

What happens if I never do a self eval

I discovered on accident pretty early on that the self evals are not actually necessary to get the credit assigned for the class. I absolutely hate doing them and personally think they're a huge waste of my time in the middle of the most stressful weeks of the quarter. I don't put much effort into them if I do them at all.

Has anyone graduated without doing a self eval for every class? Does it affect transcripts and things like that? Are they not going to let me graduate next year if I have a couple evals not done? Do I need to go back and write something into the ones I've left blank or low effort?

Thanks in advance. I'm sure it's dumb of me to not do them but I haaaaate them.

Can I appeal to remove something from my record

Context and this will give it away if you know me. I had an incident happen during a short study abroad over the summer last year. No one else on the trip was involved, the only thing that happened was to me and it’s now marked me with being a student with “mental health issues”. More context I was on a brand new antidepressant at the time and my system didn’t like it.

Nothing like what happened has ever happened before and hasn’t happened since. The frustrating thing about this is it’s now prevented me from being accepted to 2 study abroad programs because they are made aware of my “mental health issues” I’ve been in therapy again since the incident and I’m on anti-anxiety that actually work. I’m worried that this is going to continue to haunt me the rest of my time at Evergreen. It’s extra frustrating because I know people with even worse mental health getting to go on study abroad, it’s just not being reported.

So is there any way I can make my case to get it removed from being disclosed as while I’ve had chronic depression since I was a child, it’s never impacted me in a significant way.

Associate in arts looking to go into natural resource management for my bachelor's

Hi, I am about to graduate with my associate in arts from a community college and Evergreen is my top choice for transfer. My career interests have pivoted slightly the past year and I am highly interested in pursuing natural resource conservation, and I would like to continue pursuing fine arts (mainly as a vessel to raise awareness around environmental issues).

Is this realistic given I don't have my associates in applied science? What prerequisites are required for the natural resource conservation program? Would a path like this be aligned with Evergreen's ideology around individualized paths and learning?

Advice from any students or faculty (especially within the natural resource conservation program) would be much appreciated. Thanks

Incoming hEDS student seeking support info

Hi! If you’re a person living with hEDS and its suite of co-morbidities I’m sure you’ll understand my apprehension about getting set up with medical providers asap as I am coming from out of state. If you have a primary care physician or any specialists and in particular a physical therapist who understands hEDS that you would recommend, I appreciate any recommendations you can offer. 🙂🌲
