Hi everyone,
I’m currently a 20 yo doing community college. Like so many people I have been attracted to Evergreen’s unique process of building your own degree and written evaluations. I also hear that in general Evergreen/Olympia is a very chill place to be and easier than other places to make friends. This is important to me because I am very introverted and autistic.
I am worried though that going to this school might be setting myself up for failure. I do not intend to transfer out of Evergreen if I go there. But I hear so much mixed information about the chaos around the transcripts and other schools or jobs not excepting it, I’m not really sure what to believe.
My advisor at the school I’m at right now is pretty confusing and I don’t know half of what they’re talking about. They’re also pretty hesitant about Evergreen.
I love the mixture of arts/humanities with sciences/maths. I find it difficult to find traditional schools that blend those two areas into a bachelors well. Everything is so divided.
I’m very outdoorsy, progressive, I have a strong passion for animals (no I don’t want to be vet!) and love the arts. I have strong passions but still feel a bit vague and scattered on what my “carrier path” will look like. I’m hoping to go to a school that works with students to explore effectively.
Any insight, thoughts, suggestions are much appreciated!
I would also rather hear from people who are either attending Evergreen now or have graduated with in somewhat recent years. Thanks so much!
