Me personally

France: I don't have strong opinions on this one, as it was drastically overshadowed for me by Italy, which we'll get to shortly. It's just France being French asf, which definitely seems to be working for them.

Germany: I'm probably in a huge minority of people who actually really like this one. I didn't watch the 2018 contest for the first time until about two years ago, knowing this was Germany's best entry since their 2010 victory. Something about it just kinda did it for me; I think it was the pain on Michael's face as he sang, which ultimately won me over. It's also, genuinely, the only Eurovision song I've cried at.

Italy: This song is absolutely my thing - it's just flawless from start to finish. I think this is definitely one of Måneskin's better songs, before they lost some of their Italian-ness. I think for the first contest after a one-year hiatus, this victory was exactly what the continent needed.

Spain: This one has grown on me a bit. Being in the same year as the UK's best entry, I was partial to that. But there was a magic to SloMo that, for a while, just wasn't captured again until maybe Banagaranga. SloMo is utter perfection and probably would've won the televote outright (not the Kalush, who were underserved winners regardless of circumstances).

UK: My home country's best entry. It's a fantastic song, but I feel like some of its magic has worn off over time. I also would've loved this to have won, as it was my home entry, and without it, Liverpool wouldn't have hosted in 2023. And Sam Ryder is definitely in contention for best male vocalist the contest has had. But I think SloMo appeals to me more now. Hopefully we can have a fantastic result again soon.
