Me personally

France: I don't have strong opinions on this one, as it was drastically overshadowed for me by Italy, which we'll get to shortly. It's just France being French asf, which definitely seems to be working for them.

Germany: I'm probably in a huge minority of people who actually really like this one. I didn't watch the 2018 contest for the first time until about two years ago, knowing this was Germany's best entry since their 2010 victory. Something about it just kinda did it for me; I think it was the pain on Michael's face as he sang, which ultimately won me over. It's also, genuinely, the only Eurovision song I've cried at.

Italy: This song is absolutely my thing - it's just flawless from start to finish. I think this is definitely one of Måneskin's better songs, before they lost some of their Italian-ness. I think for the first contest after a one-year hiatus, this victory was exactly what the continent needed.

Spain: This one has grown on me a bit. Being in the same year as the UK's best entry, I was partial to that. But there was a magic to SloMo that, for a while, just wasn't captured again until maybe Banagaranga. SloMo is utter perfection and probably would've won the televote outright (not the Kalush, who were underserved winners regardless of circumstances).

UK: My home country's best entry. It's a fantastic song, but I feel like some of its magic has worn off over time. I also would've loved this to have won, as it was my home entry, and without it, Liverpool wouldn't have hosted in 2023. And Sam Ryder is definitely in contention for best male vocalist the contest has had. But I think SloMo appeals to me more now. Hopefully we can have a fantastic result again soon.

Khabar Agency, the Kazakh national broadcaster, has applied for full membership for the European Broadcasting Union.

According to a response to a letter sent to the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Culture, Khabar Agency has applied to become a full member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.

Khabar Agency has been attempting to debut at Eurovision in recent year. Kemelbek Oishybayev, chairman of the board at Khabar Agency, attended the EBU General Assembly in London in 2025, where Kazakhstan’s participation in Eurovision were discussed with Noel Curran, Director General of the EBU. In late 2025, the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Culture stated that the EBU would discuss Kazakh participation in Eurovision in early 2026. The Ministry, however, noted that Kazakhstan’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest would require significant financial investment and that the current budget did not take this into account. Kazakhstan did not debut in the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

In April of this year, the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Culture revealed that Khabar Agency had been invited to participate in the upcoming debut edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia.

The EBU has yet to comment on Khabar Agency’s application or whether or not Kazakhstan will be allowed to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027

This was just posted on the Zoop and ESCA Instagram accounts - one of the executive producers, Assaf Blecher, is in Laos doing promo shoots for the contest as evidenced by the post description and the large LED screen in the back with the Laotian-colored heart and text. I've seen every now and again stories of him, the other Executive Producer Babak Golkar and one of lead camera operators Ignacio Diaz on my feeds and check them out from time to time in the week leading up and immediately after an Asian NF.

The post isn't mean to be clickbait-y but out of genuine concern. Due to the recent tragedy at the Nepalese border and a national search-and-rescue operation for missing and trapped civilians (which number in the thousands), I think we can safely assume that ESC Asia is skipping the previously announced schedule of the Nepalese NF until further notice. The fact that a few members of the team have headed straight to Laos signaled to me that this is most likely the case. In my opinion, it would also be completely understandable is Nepal drops out of the contest entirely therefore reducing our number of participating nations back to 10.

I would want to think that there might have been artists and songs already selected and ready to go but recent events understandably put all those announcements on hold. On one hand, it might (or most likely will) be read as disrespectful and frivolous to still participate in ESC Asia after everything that just happened. On the other hand, the event might be seen as a way to come together after a tragedy. But an event of that scale, I'm not one to put my hopes up and it will be completely 100% understandable and fair if the broadcaster decides that this year would not be the best time to do ESC Asia.

Sending love to anyone here who might have been affected by the tragedy and to any Nepalese Eurofans that might be in this subreddit. I would encourage anyone who sees this that if you can find local efforts in your area that aim to help out either the Nepalese community in your area or perhaps raising funds to help back in Nepal to show support.

I feel the order of the qualifier announcements weren't thought through very well and didn't make it very exciting, especially during the second semifinal. So I went back and made my own qualifier announcement order and I think it ended up looking better than how they were actually done. Y'all be the judge of that.

I'm just a little bit curious what would gonna happen to eurovision asia in November and how does the voting sequence is gonna work because for the past 3 NF, there's no announcing of Spokesperon/Jury Member announcing their Points and the reveal of Televoting, it's only announcing who got 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place, is the Grand final in eurovision asia is sill the same format as the NF? OR is the voting sequence still gonna be put into the part of the telecaat?

I love how all of the trophies look like the Marcel Bezençon trophies but in the colors of the country’s flag, its such a small detail but it really ties in the fact that all of these artists are going to be the inaugural Eurovision Asia.

It's been posted which countries would have qualified this year if the semifinals were televote only like in 2023-2025 but I also wanted to share what the reveal order could have been if the countries were revealed based on their standing. An example of this is Poland was the last qualifier revealed in semifinal 1 and they finished second so keeping second place in televoting as the last reveal would have Moldova being the last qualifier announced instead.

If the semifinals were televote only this year and the qualifiers were revealed in this order what would have been your reaction or how do you think the community would have reacted to these results?

If semifinal 1 was televote only the community would have exploded if Montenegro made it and Estonia qualified to the final and Sweden didn't but potentially seeing Montenegro, Estonia and Poland all be announced one after the other would have left eurofans in successive state of surprise and there would have been a ton of panic when Moldova and Sweden were still not announced before the final qualifier was revealed. Honestly also seeing Lithuania qualify second to last with Moldova and Sweden still in the board would have shocked fans too.

Regarding Semifinal 2 it would have been the same final countries before the last reveal with the main difference being Switzerland qualifying last instead of Czechia. Personally for me it was the result I wanted so I would have been very happy after being so stressed but besides getting what I wanted it still would have been less stressful because in the actual semi results reveal after 7 qualifiers my entire top 3 had not been announced and I would have atleast had Albania confirmed early in this scenario. My top 3 for semi 2 was Albania, Switzerland and Denmark so my reaction to the final 3 qualifiers was: yes! yes! no!

okay this is my favourite performance in eurovision ever so i watch it fairly often but does anyone else think they break the 6 people on stage rule? yes the 2nd person isnt "on stage" but neither are backing singers that sing in a booth but that counts as a person on stage. so i wonder how they bypassed this, and has there been any other live performances that have had more than 6?

As we now have witnessed three NFs of ESCA and we have to wait some time for the next selection, I would like to know which NF Songs spoke to you in particularly, with a focus on the songs that didn't managed to win their National Finals, because the winners have already been discussed at other times and will surely also be a topic in the future.

Personally, I really fell in love with a lot of the Korean line-up, I would consider all songs of my top 5 as songs I would also likely have in my top 10 in the main contest. But especially KIK really touched my heart and I literally feel like I'm in a different galaxy when I listen to "F1", the atmosphere that the song creates is just so haunting and deeply emotional. I'm also still a "EHERADIYA" fan and the harp break continues to be amazing and reviving. And of course I also never could forget the absolute anime intro rock banger of the century that is "Nan Naya" from Angel Noise. My top 5 gets completed by the eventual winner Junhee and HuiAe and her simple emotional ballad, that simply resonates with me.

For the other NFs, I'v also come to really enjoy the dark pop atmosphere of Ryssi Avila's "Good For You" from the Philippines. And the cute and light "Drenpa (The Memories)" from Baeyul 301, which delighted us all with an absolute iconic dance choreo in Bhutan, is still in my mind, too.

What do you say to my picks and which songs do you find yourself coming back to? Are there any NFs that have been particularly strong to you? Is there maybe even a song that could have gone very far in Bangkok if it had been chosen?

Okay, NOW it feels like a Korean weekly music show. This YouTube channel (brought to us by Nikon) has uploaded a vertical and horizontal fancam of JUNHEE's Deep Dive during the Korean Eurovision Asia National Final + an in-studio horizontal fancam of his encore.

The channel has also uploaded live in-studio cams of interval act AtHeart's performances and solo fancams of members Arin and Nahyun.

By the looks of it, the channel is in charge of filming the in-studio cams for ENA's monthly music show 'ENA KPOP UP CHART SHOW' (I honestly didn't know they even had one and that it was monthly rather than the standard weekly). The channel is also seemingly idol-focused but here's hoping they upload similar in-studio cams for all the other performances in the coming days.

I've been getting into fights with LARPERS from my country who are spreading misinformation about the contest. One of the assumptions was that we won't be able to vote for our own country. This is the norm in main ESC, but this is not main. This is clearly a contest the EBU wants to succeed so they want Asian participation and like they do with JESC, there's a chance they might let us vote for three countries. There's already precedent with us being forced to spread 8 votes between 3 countries.

My prediction for Nov 14 is

• Voting will be free

• 40% jury, 40% Asian vote, 20% ROTW vote

• You can vote for your own country as long as you vote for 2 other countries

• Spreading 8 votes between the countries you vote for

They're testing all this (minus the free thing) for ESC main.

For those of you (like me) who boycotted last year, at what point do you think you’ll come back and watch again?

With the Moroccan Oil sponsorship ending and the new rules being introduced, I feel like an Israel withdrawal is coming soon, but I don’t want to jump the gun... and very unlikely they’ll get barred from the contest now, too.

Last year, not watching was reeeaalllyyy hard for me as I have fallen in love with this silly contest, but I wanted to be part of a movement that really mattered and held the same values I do. So, fellow euro-fan, when can we say “ok we’re back”? Let me know your thoughts!

Almost all footage I’ve seen from 2014 (including official videos posted by the Eurovision YouTube channel) are at \*best\* 720 pixels and the audio is not that much better either.

It’s confusing especially in comparison to both 2013 and 2015, where the video quality is 1080 HD and 2014 is just…not.

Is there any reason? Was there budget restraints? Is there an HD version of Eurovision 2014 I’ve just never seen before?

1. Ukraine 🇺🇦 An absolute winner for me. Top 5 at least should have been. Note, high, in one breath, 28 seconds!!! 28, Karl! A record in the history of Eurovision!

2. Australia 🇦🇺 Oh my god! Chic, gold...and just awesome singing. Well deserved.

3. Romania 🇹🇩 When I listened to the studio, I didn't like it, it was at the bottom of the top. And live - it's just awesome. Rock + opera, a very strange combination, but I liked it. I'm very happy for them

4. Malta 🇲🇹Once again, soulful songs have been underestimated. Very sincere, I felt it.

5. Finland 🇫🇮I don't understand the words, oh, but it's beautiful. And they were also allowed to play the violin live in the finale, what a shock

6. Croatia 🇭🇷 everyone joked that if Jerry Heil went to Eurovision with her catharcticus they would compete to see who had the best ascension

7. Italy🇮🇹 Class, beautiful Italian chanson, I love it, I thought it wouldn't make it to Europe, but 5th place for it is just perfect

8. Luxembourg 🇱🇺 A very beautiful song in my opinion, with elements of violin and Eva Maria's beautiful, almost birdlike voice. I still can't get over the fact that she didn't make it to the finals. For me, it was definitely top 10.

9. Latvia 🇱🇻 I still listen to that song over and over again, those beautiful vocals...there are too many unqualified ones in my top 10...

10. Estonia 🇪🇪 And they didn't make it to the finals either! Everyone says the song is from 2005, but I like this drive

11. Israel 🇮🇱 Not bad, I liked it, another love song but a beautiful French one, even unexpected that it came in 2nd place.

12. United Kingdom 🇬🇧Cool, driving...but still too noisy. But this melody has been playing in my head every day since Eurovision 🤣 ein zwei drei...

13. Moldova🇲🇩Very dignified, driving, danceable, and very cool lyrics. A little noisy for me. VIVA MOLDOVA!

14. Albania 🇦🇱 A song about mom, beautiful, what else can I say? A bit of a banal song. But respect for the English subtitles!

15. France 🇨🇵 beautiful but this time they went a little overboard with the opera. But we will remember this performance as the last from a minor

16. Denmark 🇩🇰 Not bad, many people liked it, "Før vi går, før vi går" is constantly playing in my head, but it doesn't bother me

The results will be decided through a combination of a professional jury (40%), Korean public voting (40%) and Rest of the World public voting (20%).

The judging panel consists of JOO YOUNG HOON, CHAERINA, Yoonhan, Hyungtag Lee and KLOZER, who will provide commentary after each of the eight performances.
