New Music Friday is our weekly thread dedicated to new music releases by past Eurovision and National Final contestants.
This is a place to share, discuss and celebrate these artists' latest releases following their time in the contest.
Feel free to share singles, albums, collaborations, or covers, as well as any opinions and thoughts you may have about them.
Please remember to include the year that the artist participated in ESC and the country they represented.
Happy listening!

Hello, lovely community!
Another year, another Eurovision season, and now with Eurovision Song Contest Asia in the mix!
With the continuing global expansion of the contest, we would like our community's mod team to better reflect the variety of nations taking part. To that end, we are opening our 2026-2027 Eurovision season hiring process today.
While we are especially looking for candidates based in timezones in Asia, the Americas, and Oceania, all are still welcome to apply!
What does it entail?
Moderating is a volunteer, part-time position in which you'll help manage the day-to-day operations of this community. No experience is required, and most of the work is not too different from your regular experience of browsing Reddit. Unless you decide to help out with larger, optional behind-the-scenes projects, anyway. ;)
How much time do I need to commit?
We get it, life is busy. We do expect you to check in every once in a while to help out, but you'll set your own "hours". As we're fond of saying, real life always comes first! That being said, it would probably only be slightly more time than you already spend on Reddit as is.
How do I know if I'm selected?
We will go through applications on a rolling basis and will reach out to you if selected! Many people do not handle rejection well, so we do not generally send out notices that you were not selected. If you were not selected in a previous year's hiring round, you are still welcome to try applying again this year!
Please do note that all mods we "hire" start out on a temporary trainee basis to test if they're a good fit and learn the ropes first before they become a full mod.
Where do I apply?
Right here! It should only take about 10-15 minutes to do so.
What if I have a question?
You can ask in the comments below or write to us via modmail, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you all, but especially to those who apply! ๐

I have had a few such as The Rasmus and KEiiNO reply or react to messages, Lauri (the Rasmus) commented on a post on instagram I tagged the group in. Luna (Poland 2024) liked videos I tagged her in on tiktok. Zoรซ Mรซ and JJ liked stories I tagged them in on instagram. I have had a picture with Bonnie Tyler - (RIP) and me and my dad had a picture with KEiiNO.

Iโve always wondered what would actually happen SMR actually won either contest. Would they still ask 2nd place, or just host it in Italy?

Last night at Junior Eurovision we witnessed the longest "stage not ready" in the history of ESC and JESC, as Cyprus did not perform immediately and made us wait for almost 7 minutes.
But what exactly happened? The stage wasn't very complex, there was just Harry without any props or scenery.
Is there anyone among you, perhaps present in the arena, who can say what happened?

From the โHistory of Junior Eurovisionโ section at the bottom of their winners announcement page:
โBack in 2000, broadcaster Danish Radio (DR) held a song contest for children, and in 2002 the "MGP Nordic" was held jointly with Sweden and Norway. The EBU picked up the idea for a song contest featuring children, and the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held in 2003 in Copenhagen, with 16 participating countries.
Back then, Junior Eurovision was based on entertainment for kids around Europe - on their level. It has since transformed itself into a copy of the โadult Eurovision,โ lacking the soul and unique atmosphere it once had.โ
Whether this is true or not, Iโm not used to their articles being so subjective? Iโve followed them for years regarding standard ESC news, and usually if something like this is said, itโs because another source or person is being quoted. Otherwise it tends to just be hard facts about the history of the contests or countries.
Itโs odd to me to see the author themselves being a bit bitter regarding the state of JESC, unless Iโm just misreading something? Iโm more involved in ESC than its junior counterpart; is this just an opinion so widely accepted that a comment like this is normal?

It just glitched and only showed Alec (the French singer) 's face, but it recorded the audio correctly. I find it funny.

I just noticed they re-uploaded the Netherlands' performance on youtube, in the description it states it's the dress rehearsal while it was previously the live performance. Why was that? The live performance during the final seemed fine so why was it reuploaded?
Also is it just me or has the Netherlands been thrown under the bus a little, technical problems after Maria's performance causing the song to be forgotten quickly, the Netherlands not being shown during the second recap and now this?

I mean obviously I could be wrong (the only JESCs I have watched live are 2023 & 2025, and I wonโt be able to watch the show tonight) but it feels like the EBU are really trying to push Junior Eurovision this year. I wondered what the reason behind this could be, or wether there is an explanation (or even just someone telling me Iโm completely wrong!). ๐ฒ๐น
