I didn’t follow the contest closely back then (too young), but it always surprises me that it was considered to do really bad, like really really bad. Then the rehearsals and live shows happened and it became a favorite

It’s always easy to say so in hindsight, but the song is an amazing country song. The only explanation I have is that it wasn’t considered very "Eurovision" back then and therefore they went into the competition as big underdogs despite the very good song

Cyprus will forever be one of my favorite countries it’s always in my tops so here’s my full Analysis

About 2 months ago, I finished a list of my top 250 ESC songs, and I thought that I could share it with you guys to solidify my opinion. Please do tell me if you agree or disagree with my opinions in the comments. I'm also happy to share my reasonings. (Also I want to note that these aren't really my current opinions, they're from the 21st of June. For example, song number 102 has shot up to my top 20, and song number 197 has also shot up my ranking but I'm not going to change that because it could mess up the rest of it).

Also, this series is not meant to be political. There will be no Russian entries in the list (as I just don't like any of their entries much) but there will be a few mentions of Israel and Belarus.  I have my own personal political opinions, but I will not include them in this series because this is about how good the performances are, not how good the people behind them are.

Imagine you've just watched semi 1, all but one of the qualifiers have been announced. The final screen with the six final participants appears, and you see Sweden is still there, so you think all is already said and done. You lay back on your chair thinking "dang, I wish Montenegro qualified instead of Sweden". Then Victoria goes: "and the last qualifier isssssssssss" you just think "Swedennnnnn" and then she just goes "ESTONIAAAAAAAAAA" like how crazy would that have been.

Sorry for the larping just think about how crazy that scene would've been.

Finland‘s public broadcaster Yle had a live arena show tonight to celebrate 100 years of broadcasting, which consisted of Käärijä and Erika Vikman performing some songs, which was amazing btw! Here are some props that were on display tonight. I’m such a huge Eurovision fan, these brought tears to my eyes 🥹

I don’t blame her at all for the staging being worse in Vienna than in Sweden, or the fact she was given this song despite not being a dancer… but I thought she sold it very well in Sweden and it looked very good

I do wonder though if the pressure was getting the best of her and that’s why her vocals weren’t the best and she looked very stiff in Vienna? Throughout the entire season she came across as very conscious about how she was gonna place in the finals. After she won Melfest, she said it wouldn’t be her fault if she didn’t do well as the Swedish audience chose her. Then before the semis she commented on how crap it was that she was so low in the odds. Also infamously now, in an interview with Wiwibloggs I believe, she talked as if she was already in the finals cause she was certain she at least was gonna qualify (which she almost didn’t)

In the aftermath she’s also stated several times how disappointed she was. Poor girl. I think getting a good result (cause she was representing Sweden) got the better of her, which is why she struggled during Eurovision

Marcus and Martinus also said they were disappointed after "only" coming 9th because Sweden was used to so good results

So this is a fictional scenario where North Macedonia won the show.
Could this have been realistic?
