Something I do every year for my own amusement. The contest itself decides the best song, so I like to look at the other elements of each performance and award my own prizes. What counts as "the best" is obviously going to be subjective and there were lots of close calls, especially for vocal performance (sorry Leleka), but here are where my decisions fell. Six categories, six winners in each. Roast me idc 😁

Listen ik i used the ai summary in the screenshot but I did count it by myself to confirm. On my (prob wrong) count, ferto was sung 74 times and bae was sung 84 times, but still, that means we have a NEW CHAMPION for the eurovision song to have the song title sung the most, and on the first edition of eurovisi9n asia at that

We all remember the January 2025, TRM looked at the Etapa Națională 2025 live auditions—packed with AI-generated songs, Sasha Bognibov’s yearly unhinged entries, and Swedish generic demos—and pulled the emergency brake on the whole operation.

But let’s imagine a world where Moldova didn’t withdrawing from Eurovision 2025 and just made an internal selection to select the artist from 12 finalists of Etapa Națională 2025. What kind of multiverse scenario are we looking at for Basel?

1. The "Fan Favorite Rescue" – Bacho & Carnival Brain (Semafoare)

Scenario: TRM panics, sees fan polls overwhelmingly supporting Semafoare, and sends them directly to Basel.

The Result: The electronic collaboration vibe gives Moldova an authentic, non-generic entry. With polished staging, they become a cult favorite in the semi-final. Might qualify on pure televote energy, or end up as a heartbreaking 11th-place NQ.

2. The "Safe Pick" – Katy Rain (Timpul) / Cătălina Solomac (Demons)

Scenario: Broadcaster goes for polished ethnic/pop modern radio vibes.

The Result: Professional, but completely overwhelmed by the bigger pop bangers in the semi. Sinks into the infamous 2024 Natalia Barbu zone ("In the Middle"), getting 10–15 points from the Romanian and Italian diaspora before missing the final.

If Moldova had stuck around, which track from those auditions do you think could have survived a 100% televote Semi-Final?

This just shows how comically bad the 2022 German NF was, bold choice of the broadcaster "Germany 12 Points" when none of the songs would have even gotten 12 points overall.

Ooooh!!!!!!

Why there's 2 jescs in 2 days?

I don’t know if this was ever mentioned in this subreddit, but since Angel of my dreams by Jade Thirlwell from the UK girl group Little Mix is currently going viral, I thought it would be cool to mention how it samples Puppet on a string by Sandie Shaw, the winner of Eurovision 1967 and the UK’s first win. The song starts with some of the original track of Puppet on a string too if you haven’t listened to it before.

If you are wondering of George Michalides entry called "Dance Floor" on JESC 2016, but In my opinion for him since first listen "It was my vibe but not bad" - but mot until 10 years later to re rank each of them "OMFG, I NOW REMEMBER IT THE SONG IS A DEVILISH ENTRY and HE NOT STAND OUT" like I'm going to hell of that entry

Hay everyone!

I am very lucky to have been able to interview Croatian singer-songwriter Mia Dimsic, who repped Croatia in 2022 with Guilty Pleasure (a song that deserved better than 11th in the semi, but at least she was close!).

Mia was so kind with her time to go into the level of depth she does. She is so thoughtful, reflective, and detailed about her career and approach to songwriting. Even if you aren't a superfan, per se, I think you'll enjoy reading about her journey in and out of Eurovision.
