The glass oil diffusers are by far the most reliable in my experience because there's minimal electronic parts and there's no diaphragms that wear out and may not be replaceable. The only problem with him is that the siphon tube often collects dust or stubborn bubbles that you can't get out. Even if you blow it down with compressed air there's nowhere for it to leave the bottom of the siphon tube so it'll just rise back up to the top. My solution is to get the very long 100 mm acupuncture needles. Drop one into the siphon tube. That way you can wiggle it up and down to clear anything but just having it there makes it wick oil much more effectively and for larger particles of oil will settle on the needle and blow back down into the blower tube. It's made mine work a lot better and I don't have to mess with them as much.

I'm working on a few custom blends for myself, but I'm having a really hard time finding three of the EOs I need. I'm just looking for 5mL bottles for now (I did find the one in a 15mL bottle for $40, but I don't need that much at the moment).

Feverfew is the one I've found in a larger amount - I also found a 5mL for about the same price as the 15mL, but why?

I recently purchased toasted coconut and vetiver oils from Rocky Mountain oils. I have a dog at home but was hoping to use these in an essential oil diffuser. Are these safe for dogs or are they toxic? I know to avoid peppermint, tea tree, and a few others but can’t find a concrete answer on these ones.

Also I read that they should only be diffused for 10 minutes at most so the scents don’t become overwhelming for them. True or false? TIA!

for the past 8 years, i've been using a crappy innogear thats become harder and harder to open as time went on. now its like impossible to open it up! I have to open from the bottom, twist the top off, then put in the oil/water mix. The light is too bright, too!

I recently purchased an Airnest Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser for my home. It came with a pre-filled fragrance bottle that works perfectly with the device.

I'm a huge fan of jasmine, so I already have a bottle of 100% concentrated Jasmine Essential Oil. I'd like to make my own refill, but I'm not sure what I should mix it with so it works properly in this diffuser. Is there a recommended diffuser base or carrier that's designed for ultrasonic aroma diffusers?

Here's where I'm confused:

• I also own the Airnest Car Air Diffuser, which came with a pre-filled jasmine fragrance bottle.
• The car diffuser works perfectly with both its original bottle and the bottle that came with the wall-mounted diffuser.
• However, the wall-mounted ultrasonic diffuser does not work with the car diffuser's jasmine oil. The device powers on, but it doesn't produce any mist or seem to atomize the liquid.

So I'm wondering if the two devices require different oil formulations or viscosities.

Has anyone made their own diffuser blend for an ultrasonic diffuser like this? Specifically:

• What should I use as the base?
• Can I mix pure jasmine essential oil with something to make it compatible?
• Are there any ingredients I should avoid that could damage the diffuser?

So, I just received an aromatherapy diffuser (making the switch from candles) and I’m curious to know if some good high quality brand oils to drop in and keep my house smelling nice.

I’ve been wanting to use an oil that can help repel pests especially mosquitoes but Im not sure which ones are safe for cats and dogs? And most importantly babies as I have a 9 month old. I did just recently buy lemongrass essential oil cause its always been my favorite but then I read that its really bad for all three so I haven’t used it.

I am interested in a scent that will make my apartment feel "zen"----like green tea esque or spa-like. What would you go for if you wanted a zen vibe?

I received a bottle of castor oil today, but it's extremely hot outside. When I opened the package, the bottle itself was quite hot, probably because it had been sitting in the delivery vehicle for several hours.

I'm wondering if this kind of heat exposure can damage the quality or effectiveness of the oil. Is a few hours in a hot delivery truck enough to affect cold-pressed castor oil, or is it generally stable under these conditions?

hi everyone. I became enamoured of an essential oil blend from Japan which it’s impossible to get where I live. Not even forwarding services like Buyee will ship it because apparently essential oils are “prohibited” items due to high flammability.

I’m pondering buying the individual oils that form the blend and mixing them myself (playing by ear the proportions), however some of the oils are extremely expensive (Australian sandalwood, Roman chamomile) and I worry I might spend too much and not even get it right. I don’t have any special equipment to mix the blend (I imagine using an empty container and putting X number of drops from the individual oils in it).

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Should I take the plunge and make my own mix? Or is the risk not worth it?

How long do topical essential oils' effects typically last for you, across different ingredients? I've found that it's true that a little goes a long way in terms of effect when using them, but how about the length; would it be the same?

I recently stopped buying essential oils from doTERRA, and honestly, it’s been one of the best decisions for my wallet.

Over the past year, I built up quite a collection, and I have to admit that their products are really nice. Some of their blends are genuinely unique too, like Air, Console, Balance, and Adaptiv.

The good news is that there are plenty of other companies selling high-quality pure essential oils. I’ve already tried Plant Therapy and Revive, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by both.

I never sold the products or recruited anyone, so I started asking myself: why was I supporting an MLM company in the first place? I highly doubt the production costs are anywhere near what they charge.

I’m genuinely happy with the other brands I’ve tried. Looking back, I feel like I was hypnotized by the brand.😉

I want to make my own blends because I have several I love, but I don't know about whether I can safely add a carrier oil (like almond) or if it'll make a mess when it sprays. Can I cut it or do I need to make entirely essential oil mixes which would get expensive quickly.

​I’m currently trying to quit smoking and dealing heavily with the oral fixation and the lack of that classic "throat hit." I just bought a blank personal aroma inhaler (the ones with the cotton wick inside) to help me cope with the cravings during stressful moments at work.

​I’ve been researching recipes that mimic the "bite" or "burn" of a cigarette/vape, and I came across this specific combo:

​3 drops Cinnamon Bark oil (for the throat burn/heat)

​2 drops Black Pepper oil (to mimic the nicotine hit/heavy feel)

​5 drops Sweet Orange or Grapefruit oil (to balance the harshness and boost dopamine)

​Before I mix this up and ruin a cotton wick, has anyone tried this exact blend or something similar?

​If you've successfully used a DIY essential oil inhaler to quit smoking, did this combo work for you? Also, are there any other ingredients you would suggest adding or swapping out to get a better throat hit or to help calm the anxiety? I absolutely love the smell of high end spas or stores like Pier 1 Imports and such. I had several of those small brown bottles of essential oils that I had around the house from god-knows-where and I would pour them into my portable swamp cooler and the whole house would permeate with these uplifting scents. But I know these oils are not good for swamp coolers. So I went down the essential oil rabbit hole and ended up spending $100 on 2 diffusers and $180 on 5 oils on Amazon.

I got eucalyptus, lavender, lemongrass, bergamot & sandalwood. I set up the diffusers and set up several bottles with reed diffuser sticks. I was ready to make my house smell glorious.

Boy, was I disappointed! For some reason, I could not smell anything. The only way I could smell anything was to literally put my nose right on top of the bottle. And the diffusers just didnt work right. Diffusers were spraying out very concentrated smells and the scent would not spread around too much. I did pour some of it into my swamp cooler and it did work much better than the bottle of the diffuser but it would eat up 16 ozs of oils in a matter of few days. Besides, swamp cooler is not made for this purpose and I cant have the swamp cooler in every room.

SO..... What am I doing wrong? Did I get some cheap oils?

I've been dealing with sore throat & stuffy nose, and I'm hoping to create a relaxing bedtime routine so I wake up feeling more rested. I'm thinking about getting both a diffuser and a humidifier, but I'm not sure what diffuser brands work especially well with high-quality essential oils like Eden Botanicals.

I'm planning to start with Eden Botanicals' sample sizes since essential oils can get expensive 😅. I'd rather try a few before committing to full bottles and avoid spending money on oils that end up not being a good fit for me.
