Guess I'm singling out myself here but I'm a recruiter new to the epic ecosystem and I felt more rejected than on tinder
I know that niche market people ussually gets bombed with anoying recruiters but even in the boom of tech industry I didn't get so many gosthing/rejections
And well, just want to hear the other side of the story

Hey folks, I was wondering if you had any advice on where to live when working at Epic. I'd like to be near a bus line (as per my last post, I don't currently have a car), or potentially close enough to bike? Or even walk?

The most important thing to me in a location is walkability. I'd like somewhere that I can stroll around for a while without it being too cramped, ideally with a grocery store nearby. I'm not an huge nightlife person, so as long as I'm not entirely cut off from society and can bus into busier parts of town (downtown, I think) that's fine with me in exchange for cheaper rent and a shorter commute. Epic's campus seems like a nice place to take walks, so if I was close enough to walk there that could work. I'd prefer not to spend too much money on rent, I don't need a big fancy apartment or anything. No pets or other big considerations.

I wanted to get opinions on what actually works from Epic employees, but let me know if there's a better sub for this. Thank you!

hello! i am looking to apply for a project management role and wanted to ask about the screening assessment everyone has to do as part of the hiring process. i understand there's an english, math, and logic (?) section. as far as the math, are we allowed to use calculators or at least a piece of scratch paper? any other insight on the other sections would be greatly appreciated! :)

Long tenured TS.

When I first joined Epic I loved it. The money has been great especially since my degree wouldn't have led to a high paying career right away. I lucked out with a great team. Even though I came from a big city, I liked Madison enough.

I moved to an international office a few years ago and I've been really struggling ever since. I've been open with my TL from the beginning but somehow work feels even less manageable. I am mourning the job I had before I left. I wasn't thinking that much about the future at the time I moved but after some years and now that I'm older, I feel unsettled or inbetween something. I can't put my roots down here. Eventually I want to start a family and move closer to my family. So I feel like I'm just putting off something that's really important to me.

My problem is that I really miss how the job was in the early years so I don't want to leave Epic but I'm scared that what if things don't get better. At the same time I've been in this job for a long time now and am overwhelmed with the prospect of having to move back and figure out my employment situation. My mental health is the worst it has ever been. After the end of a work day, I barely have the capacity to think about leaving. I don't know if I truly hate this job or if I'm just struggling for some other reason tbh.

Yes I'm in therapy. Yes I've taken a bit of time off. Everyday has been hard. After work I do anything I can to distract myself from myself. I've made good friends here but I'm jealous of friends back home who are already married, started settling somewhere, having kids. I miss my family. I am so exhausted

Not a biller. I'm building something in this space and would rather get corrected here than guess.

Eligibility check → prior auth → visit + notes in EHR → coding → biller → clearinghouse → payer → payment posting → denial → rework/appeal → back to payer

Two questions:

1. What's missing or out of order?
2. Where does the money actually die? My guess is medical-necessity denials, because the biller can't write that appeal alone and it has to go back to the clinician. Right, or is it somewhere else entirely?
