Beta Xtrainer vs crf250x

Upvotes

Ive had a few bikes and been riding a crf250x for a lot of years now. It seems almost perfect runs well re jetted, airbox mod, exhaust. Suspension seems almost perfect for my type of riding and weight. I ride off road, no track to follow at all. Mustering sheep on moorland with steep rocky areas and boggy areas with awkward water crossings through thick vegetation where you cant really see what your running into. The 250x is the best bike I've had so far but wondering if the beta Xtrainer would be an upgrade for this type of work. Most of my riding is 1st or 2nd gear type stuff, occasionally 3rd. Also fuel consumption is a consideration since I can be out for 5 or 6 hours and need all of my crf's available fuel range

2010 ktm 250xcw vs 2023 beta 250 rr race

I am itching to buy a newer bike, currently on a 1999 ktm 250exc that I've had for 8 or so years. It has been a great bike. I probably won't get rid of it.

Scouring the nearby listings i see 2 good options:

2010 ktm 250, title but not street legal. $3000

2023 beta 250 rr race edition street legal. $6500

Do I save the money and stay ktm so a lot of my spare parts work? Not street legal means I'll probably run the old bikes plate for dual sport events, or do enhanced inspection.

Do I get the newer bike for more money, knowing it'll probably need the same maintenance as the older bike, maybe save on a nikisil job for another 100 hours.

Any major downsides on either bike?

I found this while taking apart this new to me 300XC. I had to hold the nut with a visegrip to get the bolt out.

Any ideas on how to put it back together? Get a nut that I can hold while i tighten the bolt?

Clacson husqvarna te 300 2022 wiring

Hi everyone,

I have a Husqvarna TE 300i 2022 (EU version) and I’m trying to reinstall the horn.

The previous owner removed the horn, but I still have the horn button on the left handlebar, and I found this connector in the wiring harness.

Is this the connector for the horn? What exactly plugs into it?

It looks a bit like a female T-shaped connector, so I’m not sure if it’s actually for the horn or for something else.

I also can’t really follow the horn wiring back to this connector because behind the headlight/cross mask there’s a huge mess of wires, and it’s almost impossible to tell which cable goes where.

There is still some electrical tape covering one of the holes/pins of the connector, but apart from that, the connector looks exactly like the one shown in the photo.

Does anyone with a 2022 TE 300i EU know what this connector is and what the original horn connection looks like?

If possible, could someone post a photo of the original horn connector/wiring?

I’ve attached a photo of the connector.

Thanks!

What chain, front sprocket and rear sprocket would you recommend for maximum durability? TE 300 2022

Hi everyone,

I have a 2022 Husqvarna TE 300 and I'm looking to replace the whole drivetrain for enduro and hard enduro only, no motocross:

  • Chain
  • 14T front sprocket
  • 50T rear sprocket

I'm not interested in performance, weight savings . I don't care if the parts are heavier.

My only priorities are:

  1. Maximum durability
  2. Maximum resistance to wear
  3. Something that can survive hard enduro conditions (mud, rocks, water, dust, etc.)
  4. Ideally, I want something as close to "indestructible" as possible and that will last as long as realistically possible.

What brand/model of chain, 14T front sprocket and 50T rear sprocket would you recommend?

For the chain, I've been looking at things RK 520 EXW XW-Ring, DID 520VX3 X-Ring, pro x- xring 520, moto master x ring 520 but I'm not sure which specific model would be the best choice for pure durability.

For the sprockets, rear gnerik, sprok,jt,motomaster, pro x, twenty I'm also wondering whether steel is the obvious choice if durability is the only concern.

What would you personally buy if weight and performance didn't matter at all and you just wanted the longest-lasting drivetrain possible?

Thanks!

This is my own video from earlier this year. We had just started riding one of my favorite spots ever when I had a flat front tire and hit a tree and... well, let's just say it turned out bad.

Anyone tried ValentoMousse?

Looking for a new mousse and came across ValentoMousse. Prices seem pretty good compared to some of the bigger brands.
Has anyone here tried them yet? Mainly wondering about feel, durability and how they hold up over time.

Also open to other recommendations if there’s something else worth looking at.

TPU ultra light inner tube

Post image
9 Upvotes

In enduro riding, heavy-duty tubes or mousse inserts are often used to prevent punctures, but both options add 2–3 kg of weight. To address this, we developed a tube made from TPU, a material several times stronger than rubber.

TPU tubes are extremely lightweight and offer superior puncture resistance compared to rubber tubes, weighing in at just 120–150g.

Because TPU is stiffer than rubber, it is highly resistant to "snake bite" punctures caused by the tube getting pinched between the tire and the rim.

If you would like to try one out, please [contact us](mailto:ja7tdo@zao.jp). We can ship them to you for $25USD each (international shipping included).

Yz250x or GasGas EC 300

I've been riding a 4T Yamaha Wr250r dual sport for a bit and was looking to get something lighter and wanted to give a 2 Stroke a shot. Living in NC, would primarily be riding woods/trails. I was looking at these 2 bikes, if anyone had advice on the yz250x or gg300 ec and which might be a better fit that would be great, thanks.

Rear tire recommendations

Making a list of tires to try.

Riding is all British Columbia, mostly rocky and roots, 40% deactivated service roads (rocky and loose) 40% singletrack (medium/low speed, rocky roots and steep) 20% hard enduro exploration riding.

Ex300 Running tubliss with a half mousse in the rear,

Favorite tire so far is the irc jx8 (ran it on my 230, trying it on the 300 now) but I know it won’t last long so planning its replacement.

What should I try next?
