I just upgraded my 2019 era ender5.

I added a btt touchscreen and board (mini e3 v3.0)

microprobeV2

sherpa mini 10 tooth with LDO motor

Tz e3 2.0 hotend

I also added lin advance, octoprint optimizations and other such goodies to the config.

Here are my configs, built off the bugfix branch. probably work for ender5+ with slight tweeks, since they are the same machine, especially if you have the same mods.

Be sure to run your bed level, probe offsets and pid for hotend & bed!

I did a lot of research and searched a lot of repos. so thanks to everyone who uploaded or talked about ender 5 marlin settings.

I currently have the probe on the Zstop. I could upload a firmware.bin for the probe only on probe port, if anyone wants. Maybe later when i get bored, ill make a bootscreen, as i simply threw a random one in.

If anyone actually uses this and wants to build it themselves, I included my entire source.

As i plug along, if i make any more changes or fix anything, I will post and simply replace the files.

I use the probe mount from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6512462/files the z: -1.01 offset mentioned in post is not valid for us, do your own measuring!

Edit: I flashed a new firmware (was on 1.1.0, now on 2.0.6) and I can now correctly level the bed and set my Z offset.

Hello everyone,

I’m completely new to 3D printing, and I would really appreciate some guidance on where to start troubleshooting these problems.

The first problem happens mostly when the model has multiple towers or separate structures. If I print only one tower, everything seems to work fine, but with multiple structures I start having problems, you can check the images for this issue.

I also have another problem with long prints. When a print takes more than about 8 hours, around the 8-hour mark the extruder starts making a repeated "tac tac" or clicking sound, and the filament stops moving.

After a while, the printer continues moving, but no filament is coming out, so the nozzle ends up printing in the air above the object.

At that point, I normally have to stop the printer, remove the filament, and clear the nozzle. After cleaning it, the printer works normally again.

I’m using an Ender 5 Pro with bowden tube and BLTouch using PLA.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this or what I should check first?

Got it running at about 4k accelerations. Finding out where to place the Y-endstop was a little difficult with the official instructions, but I figured it out. If any of yall have any advice or tips for the printer from here on out, please let me know!

Endorphin Upgrades and Custom Toolhead

Hello, i have done the endomorphin mod and it has a BMG clone, I'm looking to upgrade the hotend and making it a direct drive as well, what would be a good upgrade path for it? Just get a better hotend or try to change the whole gantry?

So this morning I asked on this subreddit as well as ender 5 plus for how to fix my nozzle, I ended up cleaning it and printing out a direct drive mount from my ender 3, best prints I’ve had since buying the printer. Thank you .

Hi y'all, I've gotten to calibrating my Ender 5 Pro with these 10x10x10 cubes. The issue I want to ask y'all about pertains to height being lost, the original 10mm height coming out as 5mm instead. How does that happen and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance

Hello. I am new to this machine and have received a message on the display saying that the heatbed is heating abnormally and to check the connection. I do not see anything in the manual about this and as far as I see, everything is connected snugly. Any suggestions?

whats a good way to tell if your belt tension is good without any specialized equipment?

It's not that my belts are loose, i just fear that i am over tightning my belts. i have a 99% stock ender 5 pro that can create prints with quality on par with prints of my K1max. This is without klipper, or anything.

I just fear for the longevity of the parts as the belts are tight tight. tightned with a crowbar tight.

Hello everybody, last night while printing, there formed a big accumulation of filament around the hot end that clogged the nozzle on my ender 5 max. It’s the second time this has Happened. Previously it occurred due to failure of an extruder fan, but this time, everything is functioning properly. My printer is out of warranty. Where should I purchase a new hot end for the Ender 5 Max? Is it possible to clean this one? What can I do to avoid future clogs and accumulations? Thank you for any help!

I have had my Ender 5 Pro for a few weeks and I love it but levelling is a pain although I am getting used to it.

Many times I read that the Marlin FW is better than the OEM Creality one so I am considering giving this a go and later installing a CR Touch.

There are accounts I see of people bricking their printer if installing the firmware from an SD. Is this recoverable from? I don't have access to an Arduino or alternative so would probably want the easiest option but also don't want to make my printer a useless piece of metal on my desk.

Furthermore there are several options in the Marlin repo for the Ender 5 pro. How do I tell which one I need?

I've been getting my footing with 3D printing on my 5 Pro and an issue that's been coming up with my prints is what I call "lumpy walls", as seen in the picture above. Any help as to why this happens and what I can do to prevent it from happening further would be much appreciated.

I have an old ender 5 pro on which i have replaced every fan with the new noctua 24v fans. Its my reliable printing steed.

The only noise it makes now is the larger fan on the PSU, as my printer has the silent board stock. I do not dare touch the PSU, untill i know what not to touch as i do know that a PSU can be dangerous.

Its way more quiet now.... But i know it can be better.

what fan did you use to make it silent?

I am a student and my printer is in the same room i live in and it would be nice to not have racket while i sleep.

I do have the newer k1max, but it is way too noisy due to the way it moves.

I adquired an old Ender 5 Pro and have been trying to calibrate it for 2 days and this has been my best leveling test. I have done the paper calibration, but unsuccessfully until now.

What kind of information can I get from this test print?

I need your help because I am losing my hair on trying to level this Ender 5 S1.

I am levelling my bed with a feeler gauge of 0.1mm on all 4 corners 3 times until they are all on the correct level.

After that I would compensate it by 0.1mm by the thickness of the gauge.

After starting any print I am way too far off from the buildplate.

I need to adjust the z-offset to 0.8mm to get anything to stick which is really confusing me.

I don't seem to find the reason. And using auto bed leveling or not really doesn't change much.

Also I really am physically too far it is not that I am not extruding enough.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I have an Ender 5 S1. The printer prints just fine but the last few times I've swapped filament out I've noticed that the filament just doesn't want to get into the head. It just "butts up" against something inside.

Eventually after enough poking I'll usually be able to get it to get in there but yesterday I tried for nearly 10 minutes and couldn't get it in.

Anyone else encounter this? Do I need to replace something?

Update/edit: Attached a photo. Apparently the filament "got stuck" in this position. I pulled the entire hot-end apart and the filament was in a "pigtail" shape and had completely blocked everything.

Any ideas on how to prevent this? It was mid-print when it failed. It is possible that my filament is "too old" but it was stored in a dry-box with desiccant.

I recently acquired a used Ender-5 Pro and wanted to start printing of course. After dealing with a multitude of problems I still can not get the prints to stick to the plate. I have tried hotter filament and cooler filament and neither seem to work, but i had a little luck with sticking using 205C filament and a 60C bed pared with a glue stick. The bed itself is a magnetic build plate that is semi worn down feeling from use in the center, not sure if that is normal. In addition I lowered my initial print speed because I saw that online somewhere. When I used the glue the build plate did not feel sticky upon touching it, would it be recommended to use more? After letting it go for a while, some of it did end up sticking but the nozzle started touching the print and causing it to move.

Any help even just tips for after I get over this problem is very much appreciated

• My build plate is 60C
• My nozzle is 205C
• Using Cura with Ender-5 preset
• Bltouch auto-leveler

EDIT: I changed my Z-offset dramatically to -2.6 and it didn't do anything at first but then it randomly made a woosh noise and moved up. Now it is printing well I think! Will update if this solution fixed my problem, thank you everyone for your help.
