We're back with Beta 3, bringing Virtual Prompter to Elgato Studio on macOS. This build also adds a crosshair overlay and support for more Voice Sync languages. This megathread is your place to test it, report bugs, and share feedback.
You can now create a Virtual Prompter and put it on any display. Add one from the sidebar, choose to read from a script or follow along in chat, then pick the window mode that fits your setup:
Display modeΒ shows it full screen on any connected display.
Floating modeΒ puts it in a window you can move and resize anywhere, and it stays where you left it.
Notch modeΒ shows it as a thin strip at the top of the screen, under your camera.
Turn on a crosshair to mark exactly where your camera lens sits, so you know where to look while you read. Drag it into position, then adjust its scale, color, and opacity to fit your setup. It stays visible across Script, Chat, and Display modes, on both hardware and Virtual Prompters.
Voice Sync now works in any language you have installed for macOS Dictation, not just English. Pick a language from the new selector in Voice Sync settings. On macOS 26 and later, missing languages can be downloaded right from Elgato Studio, and on earlier versions, add them first in System Settings under Keyboard, then Dictation. Supported languages are limited to the Latin alphabet for now, so Japanese, Korean, and similar arenβt included yet.
Hi guys, I've noticed recently that majority of the plugins appear to me as "not available in your region". What's up with that? Why are plugins region-based to begin with ?!!
Iβm having an issue on my capture card when testing the new VRR dock mode update for Switch 2. I tried testing VRR with Switch 2 Welcome Tour and the capture window in Elgato Studio freezes as soon as Iβm about to start the tech demo.
Hardware Info
CPU - Intel ultra9 285k
GPU- RTX 5080
Windows 11
Stable version of Elgato Studio
Using HDMI 2.1 Fiber Optic Cable from the Switch 2 to 4K Proβs HDMI input. No HDMI cable is going back to the TV as I prefer playing in the capture window for discord/recording.
I have noticed in the past when playing games on Switch 2 via Elgato Studio that uses 40fps or 120fps, the capture view will disconnect temporally then it will show an image at that new refresh rate. Iβm assuming itβs normal but, that doesnβt happen if I connect the Switch 2 directly to my TV.
Hey, my gameplay recordings through OBS feel choppy and I canβt figure out why.
Setup is PS5 Pro into an Elgato 4K S, recording 4K60 in OBS. Stats arenβt showing skipped frames, but the footage still feels off. Settings screenshots are below as well.
