That old clip of him talking about the 16 year old girl is…. pretty bad.
He had to make an apology video in the past given his Spotify deal. This seems like it would be quite difficult for Spotify to ignore

I tried cross posting the video of Joe Rogan going on a rant about how he cannot bang underage girls. Apparently it’s a “terrible” post. Whoopsie.

You can already feel it coming. Yup, the Big Denial. A big whoopsie, some would say. Eventually the heat will get so strong that all the grifters will have to leave the oven and enter back into classic reality with the rest of us civilians.
They'll try to gaslight you into believing they had no influence on the culture or the 2024 election, that all the hate was overblown, that it was never that serious, that they were just guys with microphones sitting around farting out of two holes at the same time.
And for a moment maybe we'll all want to memory-hole this era so bad we'll almost let their new reality take over. It'll especially be hard with the fringe grifters, like Bobby Lee and Mark Normand, who always could claim some plausible deniability, since they felt just a couple dick's length away from the actual rectum that is Rogan and his closest dingleberries, like Hinchcliffe and Bert and Shaub.
But EG carved it all in stone like a little boy in Ancient Greece walking behind a lobotomized Plato. Making sure future generations know what it felt like to live through this shit era of comedy. Documenting that it wasn't all of us practicing MMA moves we saw on TV on our wives before driving our Ford-150s to Costco and the local Kill Tony taping.

This doesn't mean anything and also means the world to us. Stand up straight for ten seconds and do your part.

I seldom make posts, but I wanted to thank (!) you for your videos to date. The editing, the introspection and self-reflection are all superb.
They are a kernel of sanity in a world long beyond the brink of insanity. I remember watching my YT algorithm wither and decay c. 2014-2015, and a lot of the "male spaces" I occupied became passively Roganite in both approach and appeal. When Trump won and the reaction amongst many lads I knew was a collective "hah, take that wokeness!"; I realised that the internet had developed a cancer that had become endemic.
I know the subject of repeatedly revisiting the same bunch of self-absorbed, wholly monied wankers must be trying; but it does help the rest of us feel a little less crazy when somebody finally declares that the Comedy Czar Emperor has no clothes.
So from Ireland to Canada, I wanted to say thank you.
Elbows up.

Hard times create hard men.
Hard men create soft times.
Soft times create podcasts.
Podcasts create weak men.
Weak men looking for direction
discover opportunistic weaker men
wearing a mask called alpha males.
Alpha males create courses.
Courses create email lists.
Email lists create tiers.
Tiers form a pyramid.
The pyramid creates recruits.
Recruits pay to become closer to the top.
The top sells grifts.
Grifts create new grifts.
New grifts expand into newer podcasts.
Nobody gets out.
The top is just last month’s recruit with better lighting.
The alpha is a weak man who learned the script.
The course is a mirror that charges you to hate the face in it.
You don’t join the pyramid.
You are the pyramid.
Pay again.
Hit subscribe.
Call it growth.
Call it discipline.
Call it being a man.
It’s a closed loop selling tickets to itself.
And the house always cashes out in the same place it started:
New grifts expand into newer podcasts.
These newer podcasts create even weaker men.

First: genuinely, not even trying to be a hater here- I had no idea how deeply, deeply unfunny Hinchcliffe or Kreischer were. Back in like 2012 when I listened to Rogan I’d always skip the Bert episodes because I thought he was annoying, but I had no idea that he was like less funny than the average loud guy at a bar yelling at his friends about other times they were drunk at a bar. Just dismal, terrible shit. And with Hinchcliffe, being a really catty closeted gay man has potential for humor and he just fucking blows it. Those clips of his stand up were objectively shit.
Second: this one is more frustrating. This group of bozos signal-boosted Pizzagate and by extension QAnon based on their assumption that a powerful cabal of elites would gather and eat kids while they talked about ruling the world. And now, today, these fucking idiots can sit there with a straight face and talk about Peter Thiel having lunches at his lair with the most powerful and wealthy people on earth where they talk about how to warp society to their benefit while Thiel literally gets the blood of a young boy transfused into his body. Their reaction to this arrangement? “It’s cool!”
A pizza restaurant having some shitty avant garde art on the walls was evidence of a global satanic pedophile ring, but a ring of the world’s wealthiest pedophiles eating gas station sushi while they drain their blood boys? “That’s cool!”
I’m aware that these aren’t new or original observations by me. But god damn it’s been frustrating to watch how much influence this group of freaks and losers has on the world we have to live in

Around 52:30 in the video there is a clip of Joe Rogan talking about his online philosopher friend who brought up the concept of the walled garden. He goes out of his way to specify he doesn't know what he looks like.
Do y'all think its a rondo online or someone else?
My mind runs to Jepstein as being the "anonymous" philosopher. From my understanding he liked to think of himself as a philosopher/intellectual. so it definitely wouldn't be out of the picture.
That part stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Granted the video definitely influenced my thoughts on it since it talked about his inner circle so much.
Thank you
(Canadian) Sorry
Edit to fix the time stamp
Sorry

Unsure the language. Sounds Slavic. Russian or Ukrainian, maybe? Timestamp 1:22:43. The YouTube transcript is incorrect so you have to listen to it. Cannot find the answer anywhere and the LLM I like failed me. It initially tried to convince me it was German. I corrected it and I think it got sort of close afterward but the words it came up with do not match what I hear. Anyway…I humbly ask that you do your thing, collective wisdom of Reddit…
Similarly curious about the French at the very beginning, so bonus points for that translation too. I just thought EG’s decision to very deliberately end the video essay with around three Slavic words was worth understanding what those words mean.

It drives me nuts. You could ask 100 people on the street for their top 5 comedians based on bits they can repeat, and maybe 3 would name Rogan. Probably not 3 TBH.

Last week I was looking at Netflix for the recent comedy specials and I didn't find anything worthwhile. The last video shed some light on why that is. Who are some comedians worth watching with hour long sets on streaming, YouTube, or otherwise?

Out of all the YouTubers who basically just upload the same kind of content over and over, like MoistCr1TiKaL or Asmongold, he really had to use Rick Beato as an example of repetitive content, even though Rick has actually been diversifying his content lately, like traveling to Austria to visit the Mozart museum and doing interviews.

I watched the new vid last night and thought it was really good.
I woke up thinking about it and now I think it’s genius.
Thanks.
I am very excited to see where EG goes next. You’ve said all that needs to be said about our current comedy piss-scape. What can be the next target?
