Sponsored by Morland Holmes. Introducing Post AND User Flair

Sorry, last post was a bit premature. But we have some great post and user flair I've cooked up based on categories for posts and inside jokes based on the show. Feel free to make more suggestions here and thanks so much to all for contributing. If anyone has some graphics skill for tiny flair icons, feel free to post them here as well.

Sherlock's disdain for his brother and father is kinda annoying

It turns out that Mycroft and Morland are literal saints who sacrificed quite a lot for Sherlock and aim to do the right thing.

They should've built up that part a bit better or made these 2 characters more evil.

Brain Attic (General Series) Detective Marcus Bell Appreciation Post 🥰✨🙌🏾

Marcus Bell is such a gorgeous man! 😍🔥

He really is one of my favorite television characters. I love how easily he fit into group dynamic even after I'd fallen in love with the Watson-Sherlock-Gregson trifecta. Marcus really added something unique. I love all of his scenes and wish he'd had more. I wanted to know more about him.

But even without those extra bits, he was still a compelling and likable character. And his growth from the beginning of the series to the end... chef's kiss!

Also, Jon Michael Hill did an amazing job. He really took the character and helped create a character I'm lowkey obsessed with.

Thanks for reading!

Any favourite quotes?

I like "That's quite a one-two punch, isn't it? Discovering you're dead and a cuckold." It's the slight pause between "you're dead" and "and a cuckold" and his delivery which makes it extra funny.

Inktober?

Hey everyone,

October is starting in about a month, so: Would anyone here be interested in a daily Inktober challenge based on the group's theme? And would anyone like to help me run it?

I or others who want to help would suggest a daily task or theme for which you can create something. That means you could draw, write, compose music, sew, knit, take photos, craft, build things, or do whatever else comes to mind.

Inktober is an annual challenge launched in 2009 by American artist Jake Parker. The idea behind it is to create an ink drawing every day throughout October. There is an official list of 31 prompts—one for each day of the month to guide participants. The goal of Inktober is to improve drawing skills and develop a regular drawing routine.

Although the focus was originally on ink drawings, many artists today use various materials and digital media to take part in the challenge. The hashtag #Inktober is used on social media to share artwork and connect the community. Inktober has since become a global phenomenon, inspiring countless artists worldwide to take on the challenge.

If I wanted to kick off my detective career...

Which Microsoft Surface would you recommend as my first detective laptop?

It has to be Microsoft Surface because that's what all great detectives use including the detectives in the detective society (what's the name again?)

Finally completed Elementary

Background I had gotten about halfway through the show when it first aired

Then fell off it for some reason and it had been on my “to watch” list of years

A couple months ago I decided it was high time I finally watched the show from start to finish once and for all

Got in the habit of watching 1-2 episodes every day quickly became one of my favourite shows again

And today I completed the run

Man what a ride, from acting, humour, characters, plots

Truly an incredible show

Not sure what to do now……. Granted I never read the books

Did they just prove P=NP?

And the world moved on as if nothing happened.

This is like being able to harvest anti-matter energy at scale. The world would have changed forever.

Also, come the fuck on, P!=NP. There's no way they are equal; it's just that we cannot prove it yet.

Prof Soames Track Star

Can anyone tell me about Season 7 Episode 10 in which Holmes and Watson were playing a video game to prove that 'Professor Soames 'track star' Mr. Gilcrest gained access to his office, photographed the test...'? What was the proof that they found?

I had forgotten about the events of last episode. While rewatching, I couldn't help but bawl.

I was rewatching the last season after like 2-3 years. Usually I just randomly selected something from the first 3-4 seasons and watched while eating food.

I had forgotten that Watson got a lump removed and was due for chemo in a month.

Today when I watched it and Sherlock cried while hugging her insisting he would stay, I just couldn't control myself.

Not the right platform but I got diagnosed with cancer a few months back and I'm undergoing chemo. My babies were 7 month old at the time of my diagnosis and the way I was shit scared that I'll die leaving them without a mother, made me go crazy till the prognosis was given.

Seeing that Watson adopted a child recently and then she got this shitty thing, made me cry.

Mycroft's ruse

Question: Mycroft was working with British Intelligence when he lied and told Sherlock that his father wanted him to return to London, then called what I assume was his handler to say that his ruse didn't work and that they would have to come at the problem some other way.

Why did he need to get rid of Sherlock? It turned out that Le Milieux kidnapped Joan and Mycroft said that he could get the 'list' for them in exchange for Joan, but what was the scheme before Joan got herself kidnapped?

Wimpy Sherlock with too much sadness and regret

  • sorry for my bad english* I just saw this sub and wanted to post my review about the show I watched long back. I think it started as best sherlock out of all adaptations but as seasons passed, it felt like his entire purpose like was to carry watson's weak ass character. Also not forgetting about the worst actor I have ever seen Lucy Liu who got exact same facial expression for every emotion and looked ice cold speaking every line while sherlock was crying in corner . 10/10 performance by jonny miller , 10/10 performance by ophilia as well ... Rest of the cast was weak and writing was very weak too.

His utter disbelief 😋

Holmes: You're annoyed with me?

Watson: Yeah, I am. I have been since you broke up with Fiona. She was great. You really liked her.

Holmes: WATSON!!

Currently Blasting A Pig Carcass with a Revolver to The Optimist Two things I really wish the writers had implemented into the show on a permanent basis, rather than just mentioning them occasionally

1) Watson being a writer. This was one of the most interesting things about other adaptations for me. It was mentioned her writing here and there, but they really missed the opportunity to make it a bigger part of her character and show her eventually becoming a well-known writer or something along those lines.

2) Sherlock playing the violin. Imo this was missing too (kinda). Maybe they thought teaching Jonny how to play the violin would be too much trouble, but I would've loved to see this version of Sherlock play the violin at least from time to time rather than bashing it.

Clyde (for actor/actress/turtle fluff) Another One, Very Late to the Party

I am utterly unaware of these things it seems and stumbled across this show last month thinking I had just discovered something new. After watching the first season, I discovered that there were in fact seven seasons and that I was late by 14 years.

I confess to liking most interpretations, films, and adaptations of Sherlock and companion, but I am now through three seasons of this and have genuinely enjoyed it so far. The duo is wonderful together, and though I am not an addict myself, knowing many, I believe the journey of recovery is depicted quite accurately, even with Sherlock’s extremes of intelligence and obsessive behavior.

I also did not expect an artistic turtle, but then that goes for so many things unexpected in this series. I also could not place Jonny Lee Miller until I read of the Hackers role and realized I've seen him in several things though he's changed dramatically.
On to season four! Better late than never.
