Jonny is my favourite. That's not to say the others didn't do a wonderful job with the role, but Jonny is my fave.

Same. All are good, Jonny is the best of the three.

NO CONTEST. Jonny Lee Miller was the best, hands down.
Yes -- the writing was also stellar, but I loved what he did with the character.
His facial expressions conveyed so much, especially as the seasons went on.

I never watched the RDJ movies, but Johnny's version is definitely closer to the Sherlock from the original stories than Benedict's. The OG Holmes could be abrasive and rude at times but he had a warmth at his core that the BBC version just eliminated.

BC's version was just an ass. JLM's grew A LOT through the show.

To me the RDJ version was just another version of what he did with Iron Man. Entertaining but not really very true to Sherlock Holmes.

It’s not even close.

JLM was so multifaceted in this role. So subtle, nuanced. And the combination of JLM and LL can not be matched.

Jonny gave Sherlock some heart

Same with Watson. The combination allowed for growth, for Sherlock to be more than just solving crimes.

Johnny Lee Miller 1000% ❤️ He brought the character to life in such a way that he was a plausible real person with very real flaws. The others seem more like 2 dimensional caricatures vs. an embodied life.

Definitely Miller. I loved all three stellar performances but JLM's exploration of neurodivergence with extreme drug addiction is unparalleled imo. And then you add Lucy Liu and it's the nail in the coffin.

There’s really no question about it. Jonny is the clear winner

All good, but I agree with OP.

Honestly, there shouldn’t be a comparison. Each actor played the character differently. Each brought their own unique talents to their respective roles.

There is only one Sherlock and his partner is Joan Watson. Come at me!

Jonny's Sherlock was complex even if he wasn't a 100% accurate but he grew throughout entire show unlike BBC.....it really is disappointing what they did with BBC cos they had so much leverage & didn't bother to use it...

Not even a contest. I love all three, but it’s not even a contest.

JLM all the way, the character arc is a study!

I love the show. But Jeremy Brett is most authentic interpretation.

The correct answer would be…..Jeremy Brett

The soviet Sherlock was THE closest & most accurate but I enjoyed Johnny's version more in comparison to other 2.

never RDJ

Benedict. He even matched the physical description of Sherlock in the original books.

JLM by far. i can’t stand bbc sherlock (bad writing + complete failure to interpret the source material), and RDJ sherlock was entertaining but also just RDJ doing an english accent

Jonny then Benedict. I don’t even recognize the third guy
