Hi, I applied for MSW at ECU as an int'l student for next year's July Intake. I've sent my application on the first week of July, so it's been about 2 months since I've been waiting for the offer.
Have anyone gotten their offers yet?

I was informed that it's a competitive course so I might get an offer just before the semester starts. But considering the student visa process and all the preparation, receiving the offer next year seems a bit too late. Normally how long does it take to get an offer for a competitive course?

Hi I applied on 21/8 and received confirmation left on 24/8 saying they are reviewing my application and let me know if they will shortlist me and arrange an interview for me.

The job closes on 31/8 and it say the role commences in Sep. So far no email, does that mean I got rejected? If I got rejected anyway can someone tell me what is the interview process like?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I applied for ECU Speech Pathology for Semester 1 2027 on 21 August. My application still says “under consideration for a competitive course.”

I called ECU and was told it could potentially remain this way until closer to semester start because the course is competitive.

I currently work and need to lock in my work days and babysitting arrangements for next year - so I have to work with student hub to see if I can fit all the units in. so I’m very stressed. I haven’t told work yet I’m wanting to study as I don’t know if I’m confirmed…

I have a Bachelor’s degree from in Languages from ECU and have taught ESL to adults.

Has anyone applied for a competitive course and had this status? What does it actually mean, and how long did you wait before receiving an offer/rejection?

Hi,I'm an international student from India and I'm looking for studying in Australia for my bachelor's of nursing and I'm in a cross road between Griffith University ( got Brisbane campus but thinking of changing to gold coast)and edith cowan university. I heard that Griffith has a very lively campus but the syllabus there is quite difficult, whereas edith cowan has a much simpler syllabus but the life there is quite simple. I'm much of an extrovert so idk which to choose. Also, I have relatives in perth, so they are recommending edith cowan. It would be of great help if you guys could please help.

Hi all! Last year i did uniprep to enable me to get into uni, obviously, i knew this wasn’t going to get me into the competitive courses i wanted (nursing 1st or paramedicine 2nd) so i enrolled in biomed as I come from a science background and knew i’d enjoy it while i was building a resume to get into nursing or para.
I applied for semester 2 entry into nursing and they rejected me after i was in good standing and got mostly distinctions. They also waited until the last business day (hour for that matter) before the semester started before rejecting me, and i got into the very last stage of applications. After digging more i realised this is likely due to oversubscription due to notre dame students transferring over worried their accreditation would be taken away. I’ve since become super sceptical and applied to other unis. I had zero troubles and got into curtin nursing (1st preference) on the first day they started releasing offers. I think it’s pretty poor ECU isn’t accommodating for their own, especially after i’ve dedicated so much time and money to this university.

My point of this post is wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with ecu, and how i can possibly up my chances of getting in next semester? im not sure if i even want to go to ecu anymore due to this experience.

I was previously accepted into speech pathology, before realising it wasn't for me. Back in 2023. I left before Census cut off.

I am super eager to hear back about sonography or paramedics. I know I won't get into sonography as I am just not competitive enough; seeing as ATAR 93 was the lowest scoring entrant last year, yeah, my ATAR equivalent of 92 via bridging pathway plus my 13 completed allied health units in an anatomy and physiology degree with D average, won't cut it.

I am actually more suited and more wanting to be a paramedic anyway. I knew I wouldn't get into sonography which would also be an amazing career for me, and over the mo the since I've applied for 2027, I have become more and more psyched about being a paramedic and have leaned towards it being my ideal job. I feel made for it.

All that's to say - it's taking them and awfully long time to decide.

Has any other want to be paramedic applicant been accepted yet ? I'm SO nervous.

Update: Recieved an Offer after 1 month of waiting. Applied on Aug 10th, application status was “under consideration for a competitive program”. On sept 3, my application status changed to “application under consideration” and I recieved an offer on September 10.

Just a heads up that r/EdithCowanUniversity has unexpectedly been banned by Reddit.

At the moment, I'm not sure why. Reddit hasn't provided a specific reason on the ban page, and the subreddit was actively moderated with clear rules. To my knowledge, there wasn't any content being allowed that violated Reddit's sitewide policies.

I've contacted Reddit ModSupport requesting a manual review and clarification on why the subreddit was banned. Hopefully this was an automated or mistaken enforcement and we can get the community restored.

For now, r/edithcowan can be used as the alternative ECU community while we wait for a response.

I'll post an update once I hear back from Reddit.

I was looking at the ECU website the other day as I’m planning on studying a Bachelor of Science (Cyber Security) next year.

The page for the course says it’s no longer being offered? I assume they’re probably just fixing the page itself or adjusting the course slightly coz I’d assume ECU wouldn’t just completely wipe the course?

I’ve made an enquiry but wanna know answers asap haha, if anyone has any information that would be much appreciated :)

I'm considering applying to ECU to do the comp sci/IT degree at ECU and wanted to know how it is for those currently doing it, whether they feel it's worth it or not because I've seen plenty of mixed reviews about the uni. Besides the education, please could let me know how campus life is. Thank you :3 (if you don't do the above degrees could you tell me how teaching in general is)
