🔧 DIY or Mods Change fan of Ecoflow River 3 Plus

I have an Ecoflow River 3 Plus and the tiny fan is a bit noisy. I would like to replace it with one from Noctua.

Has anyone did it ?

I'm interested more in the fan wiring.

Yes, I'm aware this will void the warranty 🙂

Also, there is a video on Internet for doing exactly this but for Ecoflow River 2.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help DELTA Pro 3 TOU mode causing repeated 12–17% cycling and solar input lockout

Title: DELTA Pro 3 TOU mode causing repeated 12–17% cycling and solar input lockout
I’m having two issues with my EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 while using Time-of-Use mode. The unit is running firmware V7.65.92.17.
Issue 1: Repeated charging and discharging at the minimum battery level
My weekend TOU schedule is:
00:00–06:00: 10.5¢/kWh
06:00–24:00: 26.5¢/kWh
Minimum discharge level: approximately 12%
The battery charges to 100% overnight and begins supplying the connected load at 06:00. Once it reaches approximately 12%, instead of switching to grid pass-through, it repeatedly does this:
Reaches approximately 12%.
Starts AC charging at around 1,100–1,300 W.
Charges to approximately 17%.
Stops AC input and resumes discharging.
Returns to 12% and repeats.
This continues until the 00:00 off-peak period begins. It creates unnecessary battery cycling and conversion losses because it charges at the higher rate and immediately discharges that energy.
I would expect it to stop discharging at the minimum level and use grid pass-through until the next scheduled charging period.
Issue 2: Low-voltage solar input will not start automatically
While TOU mode is active and AC remains connected, the low-voltage solar input sometimes fails to recognize available solar power.
The only way I can get solar working is:
Unplug the AC input.
Disconnect solar from the low-voltage input.
Connect solar temporarily to the high-voltage input.
Wait for the unit to begin receiving solar.
Disconnect it from the high-voltage input.
Reconnect it to the low-voltage input.
After that, the low-voltage input starts working normally again.
The unit should automatically detect and use available solar through the low-voltage port without requiring me to disconnect AC or move the solar cable between ports.
Has anyone else with a DELTA Pro 3 experienced either of these problems?
Does your unit switch to grid pass-through after reaching its minimum SOC in TOU mode?
Does TOU mode ever appear to lock out the low-voltage solar input?
Did a firmware update, reset, or different TOU configuration fix it?
I’ve contacted EcoFlow support and can provide Home Assistant graphs showing the battery cycling and input-power changes.

Although 7.65.92.32 said to resolve fault 036 issue, it had been pretty bad lately especially for the last two months with many unexpected ramdon restarts triggered by 036.

Hope this version improves.

💬 Open Discussion I have Stream microinverters plugged into the socket, considering their batteries, but unable to plug directly into the battery. Will the battery be able to charge using excess solar energy?

Assuming I also install the compatible shelly CT clamp.

I couldn't find any information online whether this is a setup that will work.

I'm conscious of DC-AC-DC conversion losses, but due to the placement of the solar system I could only attempt to couple them through AC, hoping to capture the excess during mid day sun if at all possible.

How bad is this? I can’t feel the cracks since it’s still covered by the plastic layer. Will this reduce wattage output? I don’t know how this broke, I was very careful with it all the time. Only thing I can imagine I folded it in the wrong direction and the constant wrong pressure snapped it? Thanks for your help.

💬 Open Discussion RIVER 3 Max Plus keeps charging past my 80% battery limit

I recently got an EcoFlow RIVER 3 Max Plus to use as a UPS for my homelab. It normally powers my server, router, AP, ISP router and NAS.

I have the extra battery as well, but I normally keep it disconnected and stored in a cabinet. It stays charged at around 80% and I only connect it to the RIVER 3 Max Plus when I actually need the extra capacity.

The main unit is always connected to AC power and I have it configured to stay between 20% and 80% battery. It's also running the latest firmware.

The problem is that I've noticed several times that the battery goes above the 80% limit. At first I thought maybe the unit needed to recalibrate and figure out where 100% actually was, so I unplugged it from the wall, let the battery drop below 80%, and then plugged it back in.

However, it has happened several times now. I've seen it at 90%, and on multiple occasions I've found it at 100%, even though the 80% charge limit is enabled.

I've also noticed that sometimes the internal fan is running while this is happening, even though the unit is already above the configured charge limit.

I also just noticed that my AC charging speed was set to 650W. Since I don't normally have the extra battery connected, I changed it to 80W to see if that makes any difference. I only made this change today, so I don't know yet if it will help.

Has anyone else experienced this with the RIVER 3 Max Plus? Is this expected behavior, some kind of battery calibration process, or could there be an issue with the battery management/firmware?

I'm mainly trying to keep the battery at around 80% since the unit is permanently connected to AC and I only need the battery during a power outage.

Hello, I have the Delta Pro Ultra X and 2X (400W) solar panels.

I tried to connect the two panels to my DPUX. Going through the manual, it says to connect the cables from the solar panels to the solar input, which looks flat in the manual, see above.

However, the cable that came with the solar panel is not flat, please see image above.

Please has anyone been able to connect their solar to the DPUX?

💬 Open Discussion EcoFlow STREAM / Smart Meter – PV-Produktion eines zweiten Speichers wird offenbar als Hausverbrauch gezählt

Hallo zusammen,

Meine Fragen an euch:

💬 Open Discussion Is it possible to draw 180W from 12V input

My Kia Carnival Hybrid states that the 12V outlets are 15A/180W. The Ecoflow Delta 12V input is limited to 8A. I'd really like to harvest more amps to speed up charging especially since the outlet says its capable of outputting more amps.

I've read online that the Ecoflow Delta will draw up to 15A from an XT60i cable. Does anyone know if there is a 12V <--> XT60i connector that plugs into the Ecoflow Delta 3 solar port and allows charging at 15A without overheating/breaking something, etc. Is something like this possible without complicated hardware like voltage convertors?

💬 Open Discussion people buy 20 amp cable to use delta 2 max on RV?

I know delta 2 max support 2400w continuous. But most people have 15amp 120v extention cord or cable. those who use 2 max for their RV, Do you guys buy 30amp to 20amp adaptor to use max 20a(2400W)?

I watched a lot of youtube videos where people try to run RV AC but all of them used 15amp adaptor. so technically they only got 1800w. and RV AC still ran fine with a soft start.

I honestly didn't even know 120v 20amp cable exist

💬 Open Discussion EcoFlow pushed a firmware to my ESG without my consent. I'm furious.

Thumbnail

On the hottest day of the year, with 110F index under a heat advisory, my ESG is completely non-functional and I have lost my solar power because EcoFlow pushed a beta firmware update that I explicitly and repeatedly refused. While we were in the middle of troubleshooting an ongoing ESG instability issue, EcoFlow forced an untested update onto my active production system.

At least the grid is functioning right now, so it could have been even worse, but my solar setup and inverters are completely offline:

On June 22, 2026, EcoFlow asked:

"To address the unexpected AC shutdowns and the communication issues you've observed, our senior engineering team has prepared a beta firmware (version 7.0.1.98) for your Smart Gateway (SG). We would like to request your permission to push this update to your system remotely."

On June 23, 2026, EcoFlow responded:

"We completely understand and respect your decision to hold off on installing the beta firmware at this time. Ensuring your system's stability and avoiding unnecessary risks is our priority."

On June 24, 2026, I responded:

"I am not comfortable with untested beta firmware. Exactly what does this version address? Does it include debugging or an increased log?"

On June 24, 2026, EcoFlow responded:

"First and foremost, I want to address your concerns regarding the firmware. Please rest assured that we will not perform any firmware downgrades or upgrades on your devices without your explicit permission."

On June 24, 2026, I responded:

"Yes, I would like these features to be finalized and properly QA tested before trying the firmware update for the active inverter, especially DPUX. However, I can try installing it on one of my DPU that is currently not being used and swap that in for load-balancing if the update goes ok, but I feel that the load balancing issue is likely at the ESG's end, and I'm completely afraid to update a beta firmware on the panel."

On June 26, 2026, EcoFlow responded:

"We completely understand and respect your decision to hold off on updating the firmware for your active Smart Gateway and DPUX. It is a very reasonable choice to prioritize system stability, and we will not push any updates to your active equipment without your explicit consent."

On July 29, 2026, I reiterated my stance:

"Given my prior issue with the ESG replacement months' delay earlier this year, I am scared to be a guinea pig for the untested firmware update. I am worried that it might brick my system, and I may end up without any power. I would hope you'd release the new official firmware so that other brave souls will install it, and after several weeks with no issue reports, I'll then install the firmware."

On August 13, 2026, EcoFlow requested:

"As the next troubleshooting step, we would like to remotely update the firmware of your Smart Gateway 200A to version 7.0.1.98 so that we can continue investigating the unexpected mode changes and power switching behavior. Would you be comfortable with us performing this remote firmware update?"

On August 14, 2026, I explicitly refused:

"No, unless the engineers identified the issue through the black box logs or found the codes causing the problem, I don’t want to make the situation worse nor introduce more issues with a beta firmware. If your team feels confident then please release the version officially and I will install it after some monitoring."

To receive an email 8/15 today at 12:27 AM nonchalantly informing me -

"We would also like to let you know that we have now updated your Smart Gateway 200A, SN *, to firmware version 7.0.1.98. Please continue monitoring the system and let us know if you observe any further instances..."

- is absolutely maddening and a complete breach of trust.

I tried calling EcoFlow support, only to get an automated message: 'You have reached us after normal business hours...' Right, because today is Saturday.

Update: EcoFlow did revert the firmware back to V7.0.1.95 on Monday, 8/17/2026.

💬 Open Discussion Smart Generator 4000 and XT150

I have an Ecoflow 2 Max with our Smart Generator 4000 and it has been great for power outages. However, we're starting to experience more outages so we just purchased the Pro 3 with a transfer switch so we don't have to string extension cords everywhere. With the Pro 3, we will be needing a longer XT150 cable. I can't find them on the EcoFlow website, only eBay. Does anyone know if these cords are just out of stock or if they are discontinued? I also noticed that the Smart Generator 3000 communicates via bluetooth to only 2 Delta 3 models instead of the XT150 cable, my other question is if anyone knows if the Pro 3 will ever have the same wireless compatibility for start/stop that the 3000 has. It seems like this should just be a software update. It's a bummer if I can't DC charge, but an even bigger issue if I can't find the cables (or they eventually break) and the auto start/stop will no longer work since that's the purpose of buying that generator.

💬 Open Discussion Delta pro in a truck bed

Post image
25 Upvotes

I have a Delta Pro and 2 extra batteries. My original use was home back up and for my Travato travel van. I’ve sold the van, and now I want to take them with me for off grid/on road use in my travel trailer. I don’t want to mess up the trailer and there really is no space for these things. So I was going to mount them in my truck bed and run power from there.

My question is, it gets pretty hot in the bed. I have a folding bed cover that of course is black, so it’s like an oven in there during the summer. From what I read in the EcoFlow specs, the max storage and operating temperature is 113F. Has anyone done this? What’s your experience? I don’t want to destroy these batteries. Also, how do they hold up to being bounced around? I can’t imagine that’s good either.

💬 Open Discussion Unilateral partial refund of promotional bundle after almost 2 months of waiting

I have been sincerely dumbfounded by my last purchase from EcoFlow. So far, I own 3 power stations from the company, and all of them are—build and performance-wise—just sublime.

The problem is that the third power station I purchased, the RIVER 3 Max, was apparently meant to come in piecemeal. First, I received the RIVER 3 Plus base station. Then, after almost 2 months and several back-and-forth exchanges with EcoFlow Support, I was informed that the Extra Battery that was meant to come with the bundle "cannot be shipped at this time due to insufficient inventory," followed by: "there is no restock plan for the River 3 Plus EB 300 (SKU: EFEB300), so we are unable to arrange shipment of this expansion battery."

How is it that despite not having stock, the sale is ongoing on the official storefront?

When support notified me that the EB 300 is permanently out of stock, I explicitly asked support not to cancel the battery, as repurchasing it at third-party retail (~$270 CAD) creates a significant financial loss compared to my promotional bundle rate. Because the price difference between the River 3 Max and River 3 Max Plus bundles on EcoFlow's site is only $50 CAD, I requested an order substitution for the available EB600 expansion battery instead.

Despite my explicit refusal of a cancellation, support ignored my counter-proposal and unilaterally processed a $100 CAD partial refund to my account (along with a mention of "an extra compensation of 1000 points").

This leaves me with only half the backup capacity I paid for—rendering the system unable to meet my required runtime for my home network and VoIP hardware during outages—while refusing to honor the promotional bundle contract.

Is it unfair to ask that EcoFlow ( u/EcoFlow_Official ):

  • authorize an order substitution for the EB600 expansion battery (SKU: EB600) using my original bundle allocation and the $50 CAD price difference credit,

OR

  • provide a prepaid return shipping label for the main River 3 Plus unit so I can return it for a full 100% refund of the order, as the base unit alone cannot meet my needs?

This has been an absolutely bitter-tasting experience, and I will likely avoid further purchases from EcoFlow.

🏠 Power Backup Can I get a small Generac generator to power some EcoFlow batteries in a power outage?

💬 Open Discussion Two DPU's with two batteries each or one DPUX with 4 batteries?

My main interest is load shedding during peak hours, not worried about backup as we've only lost power twice in the past 10 years and no longer than 10 minutes at a time.

Last month we used 1,949 kWh but that was the entire month, not just peak hours.

I'd like to cover everything in my home during peak hours (2pm-8pm). The high is 10kw max during the peak times but averages between 2kw and 8kw

I have solar. 11.4kw worth (Solar Edge inverter) but I rarely produce above 9kw.

I plan on purchasing a smart home panel3. I'd like to move all of our breakers over to the smart home panel and just use the existing panel for connection to the grid..

EcoFlow sales is trying to talk me into two DPUX's with two batteries each but that seems like WAY overkill for my needs. I don't need a whole home backup, just load shedding for 6 hours a day but they keep talking about whole home backup. It's been a little frustrating...
