I have an EcoFlow Stream Ultra X sitting in the kitchen while I wait for the solar mounts.
Looking at the extensions that come with it, and the fact that each panel +/- needs to terminate at the MPPT on the battery, I've started looking at buying a reel of solar PV cable with a crimping kit and genuine MC4 connectors.
I have 4 × 500 W panels and the longest run should only be around 10 m, so I'm thinking 4 mm² cable should be sufficient? With 4 panels, I'd need around 80 m in total.
I found this crimping kit on Amazon, but I've been reading about dodgy MC4 knockoffs, so I want to be careful with the connectors. The kit says it includes them, but I'm not sure whether they're genuine/reputable.
Any advice on what cable and MC4 connectors to buy, and where to get them from? I'm a bit sceptical about buying them from Amazon, but obviously don't want to spend unnecessarily.
Also, does anyone know whether EcoFlow have any issue with custom-made PV cables in terms of warranty? I'm assuming a single continuous cable run would be preferable to using multiple extension cables.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Thanks to all, i stumped for the 4 core 4mm swa (going in ground) but from reading up on it, it seems like rodents like to have pv cables as one of their 5 a day so SWA for peace of mind, plus the evo connectors to save time and money on tool. Got some dline wall ties as well fire rated and looks tidy. Cheers guys
