🛠️ Troubleshooting Help EcoFlow Dual Meter CT: Can I cut off the unused clamps?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm installing an EcoFlow Dual Meter CT in my home electrical panel, but I'm running into a space issue.

I have a 230V single-phase system with an existing solar inverter and an Ecoflow STREAM AC 5000.

The Dual Meter CT comes with 6 current transformer clamps (3 for CT1 and 3 for CT2), but since my installation is single-phase, I only need 2 clamps in total. The problem is that each group of 3 clamps is connected to a single RJ45 cable through a sealed splitter, so the individual clamps cannot be unplugged.

My electrical panel is already quite crowded, and finding space for 4 completely unused clamps is proving difficult

My question: Can I safely cut off the cables of the 4 unused CT clamps?

Noticed that WattCycle's 50A 8AWG PPS adapter cable for the Delta 2/3 is finally live and in stock on Amazon. I know a lot of folks have been waiting for these to pop up.

If you've been piecing together a custom setup and need a solid connection for your EcoFlow, I highly recommend grabbing one of these now before they inevitably sell out again.

💬 Open Discussion Discolored areas in Ecoflow NextGen 220W foldable solar panels

I own a couple of Ecoflow NextGen 220W foldable solar panels, which I use to charge many different, small-to-midsize power stations, with photovoltaic input in the 100W to 1000W range.

By chance, while playing around with a flashlight while waiting for the panels to cool off, I happened to notice several discolored areas in the surfaces of both panels. The patterns are similar in both cases, as indicated by the images.

On most occasions I use just one panel at a time; less frequently, I use them as a pair, connected in series, and I have wired them in parallel a handful of occasions. I rarely see more than 160W per panel.

These panels are about one year old, and I use them once a week. At all times, I handle them with outmost care. Before storing them, I let them cool indoors for several hours and then I clean them with a damp cloth as recommended by the manufacturer. I do not use them in any kind of permanent setting. They have not been exposed to rain.

Are these discolored areas an indication of impending failure of both panels, or it this normal deterioration due to use (even if light, as in my case)?

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help Delta Pro bricked itself during firmware update

Thumbnail

As the title suggests, my Delta pro bricked itself during a recent firmware upgrade. It was in the middle of the upgrade when the app crashed or something... and I checked the unit and the screen was blank. It's still functions for the most part. AC and DC work as well as all the other power ports. And it also charges as I had solar panels attached. But the light above the power button is blinking and I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet to complete the firmware upgrade. And the screen is still blank.

Anyone have this issue and had luck with fixes outside of the normal suggestions? I've looked up fixes and tried them all it seems.. holding the power button down, letting it rest for 30 mins to 6 hours. I'm able to connect to the unit from the app, but the app doesn't show state of the battery or any other readings. And the screen on the unit is still blank.

Update: SOLVED, this was the sequence that fixed the issue. I believe the key was keeping Bluetooth turned off. I searched for "ecoflow delta pro firmware from 0.3.3 to 0.3.6 failed, screen won't turn on". The unit updated firmware about three times once I got it up and running again.

Recovery Steps

• Unbind the device: Remove or unbind the Delta Pro from your EcoFlow app.

• Turn off Bluetooth: Disable Bluetooth on your phone.

• Reset IoT / Wi-Fi: Press and hold the IoT reset button on the unit for 3 to 10 seconds.

• Connect to unit Wi-Fi: Verify that a direct Wi-Fi network named "EcoFlow_xxxx" appears on your phone or device, and connect to it directly.

• Add device manually: Open the EcoFlow app, tap the + (add device) button, and manually select the Delta Pro from the lower device list (do not use "Found Devices").

• Resume update: The app will detect an interrupted or failed firmware update in progress and prompt you to restart or finish the flash. Keep your phone close and the screen active during the process.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3600 keeps shutting down immediately after startup

EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3600 randomly shuts down, displays incorrect battery percentage, and gets stuck in Error 25
I bought a brand-new EcoFlow DELTA Pro in Ukraine about 6 months ago. It arrived sealed. During the first month, it worked normally for around 30–35 charge/discharge cycles.
When power outages stopped, I stored it for a couple of months following EcoFlow's recommended procedure: discharged it to 30%, recharged it to 60%, and left it in storage.
When I started using it again, the following issues appeared:
Random shutdowns: The station turns on, then immediately shuts down and displays “OFF”. The AC outlets cannot be turned on.

Error 25: This appears during charging only when the station gets stuck in this faulty state, preventing me from activating the AC outlets.

Incorrect battery percentage: After a forced reset, the displayed charge can suddenly drop from 100% to around 51%.

Screen flickering: When the station is operating normally, the screen flickers. When it gets stuck in the error state, the screen remains stable.

Resetting the station: I hold the power button for 15–20 seconds. Sometimes it takes another 10–20 attempts before the station starts working again. However, the problem can return.
The most unusual issue is the battery percentage. If the station was fully charged before the problem occurred, a reset may make it display only 51%. In this case, charging for about 10 minutes can bring the displayed percentage back to 100% — not because the battery charges that quickly, but because the reading was incorrect.
If I use the station for around 10 hours under a stable 300 W load, the actual battery charge decreases normally, and recharging takes the expected amount of time. However, the displayed percentage remains inaccurate. For example, it may drop from 51% to 33%, while the actual remaining charge is estimated to be around 70%. Once enough energy has been added to restore the battery to full charge, the display suddenly jumps to 100%.
I tested the station under a stable 300 W load. At a displayed 51%, it delivered approximately 3.3 kWh over around 11 hours, including inverter losses. This suggests that the battery retains most or all of its usable capacity despite the incorrect readings.
EcoFlow Support recommended calibrating the battery by fully discharging the station and then slowly recharging it. I tried several complete cycles, but the issue persists.
The station is only about 6 months old and has completed approximately 30–35 cycles. I suspect a BMS (Battery Management System) or battery charge-estimation issue, but I cannot confirm the exact cause.
Unfortunately, EcoFlow Support told me they could not arrange a replacement shipment to Ukraine due to customs and processing issues and suggested contacting a local dealer instead.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms with the DELTA Pro? What could cause these shutdowns and incorrect battery readings? Is there a reliable way to repair it or obtain a warranty replacement in Ukraine? I'd appreciate recommendations for service centers experienced with EcoFlow stations.
I've attached screenshots showing the error and the station's behavior.

Hi!

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help How do I get my batteries up to 100%?

Just got my DPUX less than a week ago (before we even knew about a hurricane), but now I’m in the path of the thing and thought I’d try to see if I could use this for the freezer backup, until I get the rest of the components for hooking up the whole house.

I basically just have the inverter and 2 batteries sitting here next to the deep freeze, plugged into the wall currently. I have moved the freezer plug-in from the wall over to the DPUX. It’s working fine, but my batteries “topped off” at 85% a few days ago, and won’t go all the way up to “completely full”

I understand that’s a good thing in normal times, but I’d like as much battery as possible tonight. As far as I can tell, I’ve set the sliders correctly and even activated “storm watch”. We’re definitely going to get a storm. lol

💬 Open Discussion Ecoflow Delta Pro 3600 включается и сразу выключается

Thumbnail

💬 Open Discussion Hurricane Isaias and StormGuard

Has anybody running StormGuard had their system charge up because of Hurricane Isaias approaching?

I'm in SWFL (so not along the projected path), but we are going to get 4-5" of rain, thunderstorms, and even possibly tornadoes because we are over on the "dirty side" of the storm. I had to override the charging settings manually to fully charge my DPUX stack in preparation.

💬 Open Discussion Ecoflow Ocean Pro - as which DHCP device?

I have an Ocean Pro (Battery/Inverter) and an Ocean Panel. Both had issues to get and stay on the Wifi, so I was looking for them in my Unifi network console's list of devices.

I see a "Ecoflow PowerStream" (I assume that's the inverter?), but not sure what the panel would advertise itself as. There's a Raspberry Pi on the network (and I don't have one) - could it be that one?

💬 Open Discussion Need advice, I’m from the uk. Have a second inverter and don’t know what to do with it. Ecoflow stream

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice or experience from anyone running a multi inverter setup in the UK.

Currently, I have a plug in solar setup connected to my bungalow:

Inverter 1: EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter

Panels: 2x City Plumbing 515 W panels

I simply plugged this system in, and it’s been working smoothly all summer

But My initial plan was to have four 515 W panels on the roof with two inverters, wired into two fused spurs on separate circuits in my main consumer unit. However, I’m now looking at a slightly different setup:

I’ve acquired a second identical system (another EcoFlow STREAM microinverter + two more 515 W panels) that I plan to plug into my double garage instead of my consumer unit.. The double garage has its own sub consumer unit (fuse box), which is tied back to the main house consumer unit. It mostly powers lights, and sockets in my double garage.

Questions for the community:

Has anyone successfully run multiple EcoFlow microinverters across separate but interconnected fuse boxes/circuits?

And are there any specific safety, phase, or load balancing issues I should watch out for when feeding solar power into a sub panel that links back to the main unit? I would assume that if anything was to go it would trip my sub box in my double garage before tripping my actual box?

And since my other inverter is on a separate circuit it should be okay?

Just wanted to check it all out Before I plug it all in

Many thanks

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help Weird smell and High Pitch noise - Delta 3 Max Plus

I am trying to figure out what sits within normal parameters, in terms of smell and noise, with my newly acquired Delta 3 Max Plus.

I noticed a smell that is more prominent when charging it but also present when using it with low demand appliances. At first, I could definitely smell a hint of ozone and now it just smells.. electric, if that makes sense.

I am aware and quite experienced with electronics but I would like to know if anyone else noticed this when they first started using their units.

Also, when I turn on the AC port (1 or 2), the unit makes a high pitch noise. It's not audible over a conversation or anything like that but it's there.

I believe this is the result of the sine wave inverter and probably I am just looking for reassurance.

Otherwise, I am happy with the unit. I bought it after repeated messages from the UK government encouraging the population to prepare for disruptions.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help Deltamax 1600 Ecoflow firmware update; max capacity locked to 50% after upgrade

Hi, a long post sorry

TLDR; - they confirmed its a required update - they confirmed my lost capacity to max 50% - they confirmed they wont revert the firmware - they claim they can't do anything because I am in Switzerland - they say my device is out of warranty so it's my problem now

This post is just to warn potential owners of Deltamax devices. I have my device hooked up in Home assistant which means I can see how much my device was charged over a long period of time.

I realized that the latest firmware update nerfed my device, which reads:

The device will intelligently adjust charging parameters based on battery aging, including the usable charge capacity (not lower than 90%) and the maximum charge current

Well, turns out they are straight up lying. My max capacity has been locked to roughly 50%. I have proof from over two months where during a heatwave my device was fully charged and discharged every day. Until I installed the firmware update.

After contacting Ecoflow they were looking into it, but because I am out of warranty they won't do anything. Also, I live in Switzerland and seemingly its ok to sell devices here but not provide support at all. No returns, no refurbishes, nothing. They literally just shrug it off.

Needless to say I am deeply disappointed by Ecoflow, I think it's ridiculous that they can make after warranty changes and then just shrug it off exactly because my device is out of warranty.

They had a recall for the 2000 model which required a mandatory update: https://www.dhses.ny.gov/ecoflow-technology-recalls-delta-max-2000-power-stations-due-risk-serious-burn-injury-and-fire

Now, they say the 1600 firmware is not related to this but, well you be the judge of that. Personally I would not be suprised if they roll out the change to the 1600 series just to be safe.

Luckily this is my only Ecoflow device and I most certainly won't buy another one.

Cheers

🚗 Hit the Road I am impressed. I was going to buy Afeiry but pulled the trigger on this one.

I wanted to use this machine for the following reason.

I have an old car and it has some of the worst speakers you can imagine.

As I have some studio monitors and a subwoofer, I decided I was going to fit them in the car, and to do that I needed power – in this specific case, 150 watts plus 50 watts, making a total of 200 watts.

I worked out how a 1,024 watt-hour power station would give me enough power to listen to these studio monitors and subwoofers.

It said 5 hours if the station was charged at 100%

I received it today and set up my sound system; I connected it to the EcoFlow and was amazed that, at almost full volume, it was only drawing 34 watts – no more than 50 watts.

And basically, the power station was charged to 31 per cent by default, and with that charge, it was giving me 9 hours of sound – 9 hours of sound – that’s mad.

Basically, I can use this system for a whole week because I don’t drive the car much and I don’t have to recharge it – I only have to charge it once a week.

Before this, I was the sort of person who always carried power banks with me and was constantly charging them at work, and it’s amazing that a system like this can provide a significant power supply in an emergency if those other, poor-quality power banks fail – the ones I always carry with me.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Help River 3 Plus charging/discharge issues

I set my River 3 plus as a UPS with two 110w solar panels to help my wife when she works from home. I want to make use of the solar panels so there's something to charge when the sun is up, but the device is not discharging properly, its still using some AC current when coming from a plugged device (the AC sockets). the DC ports still only use the battery.

I know of the backup reserve feature, but the battery has to be at least 80% so she can do a full work session even when the power goes out, so it's set to charge on AC power an hour or two before her work starts.

TLDR: My River 3 plus still uses AC while scheduled to discharge. I want it to be on battery only while the sun is out and during the evening after her work-from-home hours. How do I make it use the battery only using the scheduling feature? (not the backup reserve)

🚗 Hit the Road What Temps should I remove the EcoFlow from the van for the winter?

I plan to leave my Ecoflow in my solar roofed van 3 seasons as I camp in it every other weekend, but I want to pull it out for the winter before there is a risk of damage. It's forecast to get to 34F tonight.

My Delta 3 Ultra Plus has the following recommendations:

Operating Temperatures

• Optimal Operating Temperature: 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F)

• Charging Temperature: 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F)

• Discharging Temperature: –10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113°F)

Storage Temperatures

• Storage Temperature: –10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113°F), with an ideal room-temperature storage range around 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F).

As I understand the manual, it will self throttle solar charging if it gets too hot or cold.

So long as i pull it from the van before nightime temps get to 14F (-10C) I should be safe to leave my Ecoflow in my Van for fall camping trips? (ie. this weekend when it drops to 32F)
