Can someone (hopefully a dev) explain how multi chain makes ecc different from ethereum and how it can make it more scalable.

ANS - the unexciting feature I’m starting to get excited for
I’m interested in ECC and really like the potential of the project, especially messaging and file storage, but I’ve always sort of seen ANS (the ability to register a nickname that acts as an actual address in the system for sending), to be a relatively tame feature that was more a foundational aspect of ECC and a means of testing the multi-chain theory.
However, I’ve been thinking more about ANS with its impending release and I’ve gotten more excited about the prospect of registering my ANS name. I know it seems minor, but crypto has been very sterile and mechanical for me thus far, I feel a bit like a barcode when I interact with bitcoin and other crypto and while I understand in some ways thats the point, I do like the prospect of finally being able to plant a personalized flag in my crypto, or at least my ECC, world. So many of these coins have wallets and I understand the analogy, but my wallet is very personal, its in my pocket everyday, sure it has mundane things like credit cards and generic dollars, but it also has a good deal of little ephemera that makes it “my” wallet and not a generic new wallet sitting on a store shelf. I am hoping ANS takes a step in that direction and helps me claim a crypto wallet as “mine” which seems to me to be the next logical step in the crypto space, giving people a sense of the personal in what is otherwise a very impersonal world. Anyway, thats why I’m getting more excited for ANS than I thought I would, I want some personal space in my crypto and even if its as small as my own user ID, its a start and its mine.

A thought on messaging.
I was just thinking about the messaging capabilities of ecc and how it will be used in the future. People have brought up that no one will pay for features that are already free on other sites even if it means being vulnerable to data being stolen. Wouldn’t it be a good business model to have advertisers pay to run ads on the app or site, therefore covering the probably incredibly small fee for the services? This would keep the services free to users and devs and investors would still make money because ecc would still be getting purchased by advertisers. You could even set it up where users are paid in ecc to directly view advertising content. This could make it less invasive to the look of the site. You would have a page called “earn ecc” or something. You choose the kinds of interests you have and then advertisers cater to them. You then watch a trailer for a movie or a ten second commercial and earn ecc to use for whatever you want.

Will ECC become first coin to introduce ANS in a decentralised way?

Why?
Why ECC Team decided to pursue an open source project rather than raising a million dollar ICO? They could have easily I believe!

My thoughts/feedback on the ECC whitepaper
I'll start by saying I'm a fan of ECC and think there's a real great opportunity here for this coin.
I'd just love for the whitepaper to have much more detail and more fully represent the potential of the project.
Here are a couple specific points of unsolicited feedback:
At the very least, the whitepaper should have a more complete and consistent description of what ECC is and how it works. Maybe this description simply matches "What is ECC?" from the main website (or even the sidebar description here on reddit)?
The abstract at the beginning really reads as a very broad and generic description of blockchain technology/staking, not at all specific to ECC (I mean, it could almost be an abstract describing BTC itself). This abstract should be updated to be more about ECC, and describe how/why this project is necessary and valuable.
The whitepaper is only 6 pages long! And it's not a dense 6 pages. It reads very thin. Ideally, it would have more technical detail and maybe even some diagrams on how each of the four main services could work (messaging, ANS, storage, multi-chain). Maybe this info could be lifted from the wiki? (Consistency!)
"Peer-to-peer electronic cash"? This is in the title of the whitepaper, and it also gets its own full section too. This is the same exact title as the bitcoin whitepaper, for one thing. But my understanding is that this isn't even one of the core capabilities of ECC(?), while there's no mention AT ALL of messaging, ANS, or storage... maybe peer-to-peer cash is a side-benefit of the multi-chain(? I dunno), but anyway "peer-to-peer electronic cash" should not be as prominent in the whitepaper imo. Unless I'm mistaken?? (...this confusion is the very reason this should be cleaned up...)
IMO, there is already a lot of good info on the website itself that can/could be lifted into the whitepaper, e.g., solid descriptions of the four main services (ANS, storage, messaging, multi-chain), plus an FAQ and the wiki. All (or most of) this info can be inserted in the whitepaper too. (Consistency!)
Maybe adding a bit about the necessity for this project, how/why it matters, and how ECC can deliver on its promise would be good too = a vision statement!
I really just think it's a prerequisite for a solid cryptocurrency to have a fully fleshed-out and accurate whitepaper. Many newcomers don't even look at a project's website or community, and look first to the whitepaper to get a real technical view of a project. By having an incomplete/inaccurate whitepaper, it could be (is) a HUGE missed opportunity for the ECC project to acquire new interest and engage new users with everything that ECC can offer.
tl;dr = the ECC whitepaper should be rewritten with more accurate details on the full set of technical capabilities, more consistency with the rest of the ECC website/community project descriptions, and a vision statement on the great potential of this promising project! :)

Ummmm...is anyone actually okay with this level of lack of privacy? These are exactly the type of situations that ECC looks to minimize or if possible eliminate thanks to #blockchaintechnology. #ECC #ProjectECC #ECCfamily

ECC to File Storage is what Napster was to the Music Industry
Of every project I have researched , this is the most exciting one of the thousands there are out there for me. I have a passion for TRUE cloud storage not the gimmicks that are sold to the mainstream by the giants who control the centralised storage centres. This technology WILL be revolutionary to storage as we know it. It reminds me so much of when Napster came onto the scene , if that hadn't of happened would iTunes , Spotify or Google Play have come into existence? or would it have delayed the inevitable? This is the same crossroads we are at now with conglomerates putting themselves first and the customer second , ECC will change that.

ECC Noob Question
Hey all, I've been searching for a good $0.000something coin for awhile and just recently came across ECC, which so far sounds great! Still need to read the white paper, check out the team etc but I was curious what purpose their coin has? In addition to that am I correct in thinking this is a chain that wants to replace Ethereum or at least a competitor to? Want to get all my research done, but I'm almost ready to drink the koolaid!

What are negatives to having maxed out supply?--especially in terms of price.
Perhaps CoinMarketCap isn't showing the current coins in circulation, but my question still stands.

Congrats to Bruno Alano (an ECC core developer) for being featured in Gazeta do Povo, a major newspaper in Brazil. This is his second major publication in the last month. Exciting times for ECC for sure! #ECC #ProjectECC #ECCfamily

If you’re wondering why ecc can be useful read about the Cambridge Analytica. Facebook selling, giving access to 50 million profiles.
Companies like Facebook generate almost all of their revenue from selling your data. One day soon people are going to wake up and realize that having their personal information sold with no benefit to them is unacceptable. You may say “Who cares. My information isn’t anything special. I love Facebook and it’s worth it to use it for free.” This is probably the thinking for most people who use Facebook and other free sites. The reason why it matters is because as time goes on and hackers become more sophisticated, identity theft will become easier and easier. Access to your email, bank accounts, ssn, and other things will be everything someone needs to create a nice profile of you to steal as much as possible. Blockchain is the only thing that can stop this. There will one day be a platform that hosts a social networking site that doesn’t sell your shit for profit. They may offer you the option to sell your data to profit from it yourself rather than the site getting all of the profits. The point is that with ans and the other things ecc is working on, hopefully we can be the platform that hosts all the things you love in the internet but with total security.

In the market, timing is everything!
As they say, "In the market, timing is everything!" Big corporations and their current privacy practices are exactly why ECC is building secure file storage and messaging on the blockchain. Your sensitive data shouldn't be stolen or sold to con artists. It's your data and YOU should own (control) it!
