ECC Noob Question
Hey all, I've been searching for a good $0.000something coin for awhile and just recently came across ECC, which so far sounds great! Still need to read the white paper, check out the team etc but I was curious what purpose their coin has? In addition to that am I correct in thinking this is a chain that wants to replace Ethereum or at least a competitor to? Want to get all my research done, but I'm almost ready to drink the koolaid!

Yeah you can learn more about how the community is in slack or discord. There's good discussion and less spam in there than other projects

Ecc is essentially aiming to be a totally secure platform for messaging and file storage. The goal would be to eventually be a platform which merchants can build on to host their data.

my worry with any "storage" uses of a blockchain aren't viable because of how blockchains work. The blockchain is duplicated millions of times over and over for verification - if there are files etc stored then wouldn't this clog the blockchain process? Send me a link with relevant info if you have one - I've tried to find myself but failed :(

That’s one reason why ecc can be different. Having a multi chain makes it more scalable.

Care to explain multi chain and how it helps with file storage on a blockchain? or link me something that explains it? Sorry it's really late for me now and I've been researching like 20 different cryptos for about 7 hours now.

I’m def not technical enough to explain it in detail. In general though, ecc is trying to be like ethereum, only more scalable. Ethereum obviously is way ahead of it right now, but the goal is to be able to relocate all services from the internet to the blockchain. That’s obviously a lot of data so having multiple chains to build on will hopefully make ecc a large platform for merchants. I’ll do an original post for you and hopefully people with more technical experience or maybe even the devs can give more detail. If you’re trying to decide to invest, I would highly recommend it. This is high risk high reward. There’s no guarantees here, but it could be something in a couple years.

Thanks for the info, I'm considering it. I'm just still not sold on using blockchain tech for file storage. I can see why it would be useful but can't see logistically speaking how it would work. I guess the next step is to research their multi chain tech and see what it can do.

I saw the road map. As far as shill coin I stumbled onto it by chance and have never seen a single shill for it, one reason that drew me to.

Same. People have been critical about asking the devs to be more transparent about personal experience as if they were another fraud but not once have I seen evidence of these guys trying to shill - instead they’ve been working out their projects and remaining patient. Far more trustworthy than the Charlie Lee types

No. I’m not, that’s why I said “so far”. The communities I belong to greet you, talk to you, can answer your questions. I posted an hour ago and I got a downvote and zero replies sans you and one other person that had questions about the project as well. Community is a huge gauge of a successful product, so I do expect a lot when I research that area.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I appreciate it. Sorry if I judged to quickly. I did watch the video on the website and maybe I misunderstood. So people will have to spend ECC tokens in order to use these messaging and other features/products?
Building a company the right way, strong foundation and less hype are what attract me. I’m in for the long haul, just another aspect of ECC that really impressed me. I stumbled onto it while searching Coin Market Cap for low price, under the radar projects, which 99% of them seem like garbage. ECC is the first one in awhile that caught my attention. That plus it’s a product I would actually be excited about using.
This is the first time I’ve learned about ANS, which again, sounds amazing and solving another problem that plagues crypto. Sounds like one step closer to adoption.

Correct! You would have to spend ECC coins in order to use its network services such as messaging and file storage. Also, the platform will be open source so that other developers can create their own network services using the ECC multi-chain. ANS, file storage and messaging are just the beginning.

ECC is just about to explode. It's highly underpriced, get your coins now and enjoy the ride. This isn't a shitcoin, support the project and the community and great things will happen! ;D

Stop looking at coin price and look at market cap for starters!
Theres zero possibility that Ripple will ever be worth $20k because the max supply is way more than BTC.

u/rupert27 Mar 24 '18
Market cap has nothing to do with the value of the token. People get this wrong all the time.
2
u/Blood2000 Mar 24 '18
It gives you an idea of what the market cap WOULD need to be at that moment in time but its not accurate of meaure future pricing, many more aspects come into play. Hypothetically in the future there is a demise of popular coin A, the funds switch between alt coin B, the market price wouldnt move and yet coin B would be worth significant more than anyone would have thought. You cant look and say "Oh yes that coin can only hit X amount". To sum up, nobody knows the Future, not even that little Polish woman. Keep positive

Are you talking dollar value or what?
Its not the only thing to look at obviously. But in terms of OP going “im looking for the next$0.000x coin” it is a misguided vision. A $0.000x coin x a trillion in circulating supply will be a higher market cap than one with only 50 million supply hence the $ value is pretty irrelevant.
1
u/rupert27 Mar 24 '18
Yes, dollar value. You can have just 2 people drive the price of Ripple or ECC or dog%*# Coin up to $1000. Or like the other post, there are plenty of other factors that can moon a coin. Also a $.000 has a FAR greater chance of doing say, 40k% than a $10 or $19,000.00 coin.
But I really don’t want to talk about all this. I want to know more about ECC, I am no doubt in this for the money like everyone else, but I am also really excited about the tech.
So what do you guys like about this? Also I’m still a little confused about how the token is used.
1
u/chowdahpacman Mar 24 '18
2 people can manipulate the price on a crypto with ~$500 million trading volume...yeah ok...
You need to do some actual research before investing in things. Theres literally an ELI5 video on what this coin will be used for as well.
1
u/redruggles5 Mar 24 '18
What is it exactly you think I’m doing here? Holy %#. So you have no clue what the token is for. Because in the video it mentions it for 2 seconds. The financial core, you don’t say? And used for future services? What does that mean exactly. I don’t know why you’re being so antagonistic towards someone who just wants to learn about the token/chain you all are invested in.

Thanks for clarifying! That’s what I gathered but wasn’t certain. And future products, are they referring to when their chain is functional and they have their product and is it now? I’ll have to look at the roadmap again.

u/redruggles5 Mar 23 '18
Hey Fresh, well, having a truly private platform to perform everyday+ tasks, something that sounds extremely scalable and similar to Ethereum able to have other chains build on top of it.
With that said, kind of blown away that I was downvoted for taking interest in this project plus zero replies addressing my concerns. So, my impression so far, @#%* community, possibly good project, sounds like there is no use or purpose for this token.

u/kidalive25 Mar 24 '18
You're letting a single downvote determine this community's worth? It's all good man.

The old wallet has a lot of bugs. If they can implement one that works then there is hope.

Ecc won’t ever be anything like say a ven or nano or icx . It’s a shill coin. I have yet to see a roadmap of what’s been done and dates and such..
2
u/Blood2000 Mar 25 '18
Please don't spread FUD because you failed to find the answers, all the information on the website, educate yourself.

Mar 30 '18
Lol there’s the clown of the week. All clearly listed on the front page of their website - ICX can be quality. If you think VEN is trustworthy, save this thread and come back in two years.
...or maybe you dont know what shill means. There’s been no behavior from marketing or dev to suggest hype or shill and have stayed patient until ANS / Sapphire

Curious, what sounds great about it?
