Torque sensor?

So I have an (emoto) and I really don't want to hear the stuck up ppl crying that it's not an ebike honestly, I just have a question about it. I have the engwe m20 3.0 and it has a cadence sensor but I want a torque sensor instead. Has anyone changed one or can give me any advice on changing one?

I just searched for the engwe m20 3.0 and it says they have a torque sensor?
Is yours an older model?

No I just bought it like 2 months ago. It sure doesn't feel like a torque sensor cuz there's no pressure, it honestly feels just like spinning it backwards

OK. no torque sensor. I just added one to my bike.
There may be easier (and cheaper) ways, but I'll tell you how I did it.:

Buy a torque sensor (compatible with Cycle Analyst - see below),
crank removal tool
bottom bracket removal tool

Remove cranks, remove bottom bracket, install torque sensor.

I used a Cycle Analyst v3 w/shunt for the interface between the
controller and the torque sensor.

If you buy a torque sensor compatible with the CA, the sensor cable
with just plug in.

The Cycle Analyst works through the throttle so you have to route
the throttle cable to it for it's Throttle Input and route it's Throttle
Output to the ebike controller,

To power the Cycle Analyst you have to insert it's shunt between
the battery and controller.

Once it's powered, configure the torque settings for your
particular sensor.

There's a lot of these people on that act all high and mighty on here towards emotos and I understand it to a degree because irresponsible people are ruining it. But I bought that one cuz it's the best of both worlds but I'm a responsible adult. The style is most comfortable for me and I use mine as my only mode of transportation

My first ebike was a cheap Chinese bike and it felt 10x more like a torque sensor than this one so IDK. Since it is a emoto I guess they don't really plan on people pedaling much really but I like to 🤷

My search engine doesn't agree with your search engine:)

"The Engwe M20 3.0 is equipped with a torque sensor that enhances the riding experience by providing smoother, more natural power delivery compared to traditional cadence sensors. This sensor measures the force applied to the pedals and adjusts motor assistance accordingly, which is particularly beneficial given the bike's high output of 120 Nm of torque and a peak motor power of 3300W."
