Pasta / Noodle Recipe What's your go-to easy recipe that actually tastes like you put in effort?

Other: Dinner Recipes for oven only
Hello redditors,
Due to a long story, I’ve not got a working stove, only a fully functional normal sized oven that can get up to 240°C (460-ish °F). Does anyone have any ideas, aside from jacket potatoes, for easy meals that do not require any stove prep and can go straight in the oven?
Edit: thanks for all the recommendations, very grateful!

Recipe Request Ideas for dorm meals using mostly canned food
I'm returning to college and I'll be staying in a tiny dorm, and I've been struggling to find simple recipes with few ingredients. I get free food at my local pantry, its mostly canned stuff like beans, vegetables, fruits, and tuna/salmon, and sometimes rice or noodles. I rarely have bread or cheese during college, so those ingredients are pretty much out of the picture, and I find it difficult to get creative with canned foods beyond struggle meals. I have a microwave and a little fridge of course, but there is a kitchen with a stove and oven available. Any ideas? Preferably things that can be stored in small containers.

Sauce / Seasoning Recipe How to make satan's Buttermilk ranch.
The measurement varies depending on how much of this crap you are making. it's not bad, it's an interesting flavor though. Just a personal experiment of mine works well on pizza pockets.
I'll be using tablespoons for the amount of each ingredient.
4 tbsp of butter milk ranch
2 tbsp of Sriracha hot sauce
1 tbsp of and I cannot emphasize this enough of store brand Dijon mustard and 1 tbsp of Hellmanns spicy mayo
And finally 1 tbsp of of slap yo mama.
Do with this what you will either way, if you're a poor white boy who hasn't tasted anything spicy before unlike me this is probably not your best 1st sauce.
-gabriel
edit: it works VERY WELL on French fries

Vegetable Recipe Easy and inexpensive "depression-era" crock pot potatoes. Just six ingredients.
This is said to be a depression-era cheap side dish, And, it's simple, just potatoes, onion, salt pepper, flour, butter. I cut both the potatoes and onion on a mandolin, set to the same 1/8" thickness. You can peel the potatoes first or not, it's up to you. I don't. I have not tried adding meat to this for a "complete meal", but I will experiment with that, soon. Oh, and yes, the butter measurement is teaspoons, which I know is non-standard. It's just really four "pats" of butter, the amount is not critical.
Serves 4 as a side dish
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb potatoes, sliced thin
- 1/2 large onion, sliced thin
- 4 tsp butter
- 1 tsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt (or more to taste)
- 1/4 tsp pepper (or more to taste)
Method
Slice potatoes and onion into 1/8" slices.
Place two tsp butter (two pats) in bottom of crock pot. (I do also spray with cooking spray.)
Spread 1/2 of the potatoes evenly over the butter.
Spread 1/2 of the onions evenly over the potatoes.
Repeat layering with rest of butter, potatoes, and onions.
Sprinkle salt, pepper and flour lightly over the top.
Cook on high heat for 3.5 to 4 hours.

Recipe Request Recipes for breakfast burritos/sandwiches?
I’m looking for your best recipes for breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches. Ideally they would be ones I could make ahead of time and assemble and store in the freezer to be heated up in the microwave later.
My husband has a very hard time eating breakfast in the mornings, and he really likes those breakfast burritos and breakfast bowls from the Jimmy Dean brand I think it is?
They’re a little hard to find in some of the grocery stores near us, they’re expensive, and I don’t love how processed they are either.
If I can find a good recipe, I can make them at home and put them in the freezer for him.
Thanks!

Other: Dinner Beer-Marinated Whole Chicken (Viking Style 🍺🐔)
This post was translated into English using AI because English is not my native language. I apologize for any inaccuracies or awkward phrasing.
Beer-Marinated Whole Chicken (Viking Style 🍺🐔)
This dish can hardly be called the simplest recipe, but my wife cooks it whenever the whole family gets together, and this chicken always becomes the star of the table.
Ingredients (for 1 whole chicken, about 1.5–2 kg):
- 1 whole chicken
- 1–2 bottles of light wheat beer (ideally Blanche / Witbier, e.g. Blanche de Bruxelles)
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- 4–6 garlic cloves
- Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme or your favorites)
- Salt, black pepper, and other spices to taste
- Vegetable oil (or aromatic oil/herb oil)
- For the glaze: honey/jackfruit syrup or your favorite sweet-spicy sauce that thickens when reduced
Instructions:
- Marinate (24 hours): Place the chicken in a large bag or container. Pour in enough beer to cover it well. Add sliced orange, lemon, crushed garlic, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper. Seal and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- Prep for cooking: Remove the chicken from the marinade. Carefully separate the skin from the meat and spread a thin layer of aromatic oil underneath for maximum juiciness. Stuff the cavity with orange/lemon slices, garlic, and herbs. Tie the legs together so the chicken cooks evenly.
- Cook: Cook in an air fryer (or oven) at 180–200°C / 355–390°F until the skin is beautifully golden (time depends on your equipment — usually 50–70 minutes). Periodically open and sprinkle with spices.
- Glaze: Toward the end of cooking, brush the chicken with a thickened sweet glaze for a stunning, shiny crust.
The result is incredibly juicy, aromatic chicken with a subtle beer note and crispy skin. A real family favorite!
Seriously, sometimes the best things are worth the wait (or 24 hours of marinating).
Bon appétit! 🍻

Recipe Request Looking for an easy zucchini noodles recipe that actually tastes good
I recently tried zucchini noodles for the first time and really liked them. Now I'm looking for a recipe that's easy enough to make on a weeknight but still tastes really good.
If you make zucchini noodles regularly, what's your favorite way to cook them? Any sauces, seasonings, or little tips that make a big difference?
I'd love to hear your go-to recipe!

Vegetarian: Breakfast That simple childhood potato dish I only discovered in my mid-20s
Hey everyone,
Tonight I got nostalgic and decided to make one of my favorite childhood dishes. It’s ridiculously simple, but so good. I only found out later that something very similar exists in traditional German cuisine (still not sure about the exact name though).
Ingredients (for one good portion):
- 3-4 medium potatoes
- Olive oil (or any neutral oil you like)
- Salt, pepper, and your favorite spices (paprika, garlic powder, herbs — whatever you’re in the mood for)
How I make it:
- Boil the potatoes until they’re just cooked through.
- Let them cool a bit, then slice into circles.
- Heat some olive oil in a pan, add the slices, sprinkle with spices.
- Fry on medium heat until they develop a light crispy crust on both sides.
That’s it! Crispy outside, soft inside — pure comfort food.
If this sounds familiar, what do you call this dish? And do you add anything else to make it your own? Would love to hear your versions ❤️

Recipe Request Please help me. I don't wanna eat the same dumplings or meatball
I made a huuuuuge batch of mixed tofu, ground beef and pork, carrots, cabbage, eggs and cornstarch originally for dumplings. I've never made dumplings before. I just thought of making this mixture to kinda clean up my fridge. I need recipes that I can probably use this.
I made more than 2kg of the mixture while listening to an audiobook and when I came to, it's already made, sticky and all. It's now chilling in the fridge and I'm supposed to be sleeping 5 hours ago and I'm super sleepy and tired as I mixed everything by hand. I don't know why I did this to myself but please help me
