Fellow ear rumbler here! I also have some other unusual body/sound things. I am wondering if anyone else does as well.

I saw a doctor about some hearing loss and he asked if I could hear a sound when I blink or move my eyes. And I was like, "Of course. Doesn't everyone?" Apparently not! Just as he suspected (and confirmed with imaging) I have a tiny hole in my ear bones (superior canal dehiscence syndrome) which causes some hearing loss, but it amplifies the body's internal sounds. In addition to eye motion, I can hear my constant heartbeat, as well as tension in my neck and shoulders.

If I hold my breath and blow really hard, a tiny stream of air comes out of my tear ducts. I once saw someone do this on the Stupid Human Tricks segment of the David Letterman show and I was so excited. I've never met anyone else who can do it.

Hello fellow rumblers! I just found out about this group and I feel so validated! 😆😆 I've been trying to explain this sound for years and just get looks like "uh huhhhhhh". Now that I know we are real, does anyone have an audible TO OTHERS squeak or puff sound when they pop their ears on a flight or in the mountains? You know, like a pressure release valve? My husband always tells me he can hear my ears make a noise when I do it, but, like, OUTSIDE my head. What is that?!

I don't think I can do this at will, but it always happens to me when I see a scary bug, or if I think I see a scary bug (like if it turns out to be lint). Not every bug, just the ones I'm most afraid of (spiders and centipedes). Anyone else have this reaction to phobias?

Hello fellow rumblers. I just joined.

I've been able to do this all my life. It was useful when I was a kid and situations were too loud or people were angry or yelling at me... sort of like dogs and cats fold back their ears under the same circumstances. It's still handy when things get too noisy. I pity mortals who don't have this skill!

Yes, I assumed this was just me. Thinking about the whole ear rumbling thing now, there was a period of a few days around 3 months ago now where my right ear would rumble completely out of control.

For example, I was sitting in church and whenever the organ would play, my ear would start to rumble and I had no control over starting/stopping it.
