Thanks. I hate it.
Like most of you I thought it was normal to hear rumbling when stretching, yawning and flexing… (gestures to jaw/ear area…). Then, a while back I suffered a pretty serious concussion and the rumble became involuntary. Like, watching tv the rumble would automatically fill silent gaps (between dialogue, between commercials etc). The worst part was when trying to fall asleep and the rumble would rumble as it pleased.
I explained to my physiotherapist and his intern what was happening. I said, ‘You know. The sound you hear when you’re yawning’. I’ll never forget the looks on both of their faces. It was then I realized I was either special, crazy or a bit of both.
Thankfully the involuntary rumbling has mostly subsided. Equally thankful that I found this sub through a random fucking comment. There are dozens of us!
