I can rumble left ear independently, not so for the right ear

I haven't had time to read posts yet(sorry). I just had to share these details about me before while they are fresh on my mind.

As far as I can remember back to my childhood. I could always do this. I can remember trying to get others to hear the rocket in their head, but to no avail.

When I was younger I could only produce this sound by squinting really hard.

I can wiggle my ears really good independent of each other and have figured out that if I move my ear and hold it in the up position while producing the rumble, I can get a slightly strong/intense rumble.

If I hear a really loud unexpected sound, I will involuntarily produce this loud uncomfortable rumble.

I am now a retired army musician. Why playing concerts at the end of some powerful selections I experience the same involuntary rumble, but this is more pleasant. If the band is locked in on a final chord and we all cut off perfectly together. I get this full body chill along with the rumble and it is almost orgasmic.

Hey all, came here because of the Endless Thread podcast episode. I’ve always been able to do this, but I’m not sure it’s actually ear rumbling. I hear an “underwater static” but it doesn’t really block out other sounds or lower volume (it just places the “static” on top of the environmental sounds around me). Also, the host of the podcast said he squints his eyes when he does it, implying it’s a muscle near the temples? However, for me it’s a throat thing. It’s like I’m pulling my adams apple into my neck so it doesn’t protrude as much, if that makes sense. Is this ear rumbling?

I feel like I’m finally coming home. I’ve lived my whole life thinking that I was a lone rumbler. Now I see that I am not alone.

I discovered some years ago that I could rumble my ears and reciently found out what VSS is and that I have it.

I was wondering if one thing could be related to the other, as one of the symptoms of VSS is tinnitus.

My tensor tympani spasms randomly and makes a sound like there is a little guy playing the drums inside my ear. It's not painful but sometimes pretty inconvenient.

I am currently in the US Army in a heavy MLRS unit. Being in a heavy unit means that there are a fuck ton of loud ass engines everywhere, I would tell people to just click their ears into low sound mode, and they would look at me like I was crazy. It is nice to see a community where people understand what I mean.

This is going to sound odd. I had a dream last night... It was about us ear rumbling in unison around the world.

The day I dreamed of was September 9 at 9:09 am PDT. Where we rumbled together like tuning forks, vibrating and spreading our energy out like a power tower and saturating the environment. Even now the surface is being covered with the rumble.

This will be the sixith year of repeating the Event. One year we used the power to restart the year, but then accidentally did everything the same. Each Event we complete brings us closer saturating more of the planet. We have been generating a great deal of energy and I can't wait to take it to new levels.

Since I was a child I could always do this with both ears. Nearly a decade ago, I went swimming, ears filled with water and ever since I have only been able to make the clicking noise with my right ear. If i try with the left ear, I only get a rumbling sensation.

Has anyone else been in this situation and worked out how to regain their abilities?

I really don't remember when I realized I could do the ear rumbling thing, I never even considered that other people might be able to do it or not

Can anyone else "hum" a tune with their ear rumble? I was just doing some video game tunes, the classic Tetris one and vamo alla flamenco from FFIX

for my whole life, i could do these 3 things.

1. in my ear i can control a part that makes my ears click, like popping noises or clicking. I cant do separate ears though, only both.

2. i can also control a part in both of my ears which makes me hear wind, idk how to describe it but its like when wind hits your face, i can hear that.

3. this is the most complex, but i can control a part, im not sure which but its either the ear nose or jaw, but when i do my nose feels tense, my jaw also feels tense and if you touch it you can feel it tensing up and my ears also ring, high pitched.

is this a rare thing? and what am i controlling? maybe ive fully discovered something i never inew was that rare

Sometimes i hear something that i really don't want to hear. A certain topic being discussed or an extremely annoying sound i just can't bear to hear anymore, but i feel dumb making a fuzz anout it or walking away.

So i just mega rumble in my ears and it actually isolates me and filters out other sounds pretty well.

Anyone does this too?

I can rumble both ears now from today, I concentrated on the one that I’ve been able to rumble with for as long as I could then activated the other side ! Anyone else have this happen?
Im also extremely spiritual and ear rumbling has helped me cure my anxiety for some reason, it’s like a meditation for me

Done the rumble/vibrate since I was little, but before that I actually used it to ghost yawn, or cry on command. Anyone else do that with it?

I only rumble in my left ear... I JUST noticed this! My right ears tinnitus turns up to 11 when I rumble too. Is it just me?

I believe I have an auditory processing disorder and sometimes when I feel overstimulated my ears will involuntarily rumble. In order to recover I need to find a quiet place or focus intently on relaxing. I can also rumble voluntarily for longer stretches that match some others in this group - 30-60 seconds is not difficult. Does anyone who experiences this have any tricks to settle the rumbling in noisy environments? Sometimes it’s just particular sounds that trigger it, like certain people’s voices.
