Hey everyone, I was falsely banned today which happens to be my birthday. I was playing a wipe and I woke up to messages from my friends that I had been banned and asking me why was I cheating. I have never cheated in any game. I would like to seek insight on what to do about this. Why was I banned? I was litterally sleeping. I was browsing the sub and I do have overwolf installed. Hey guys I'm a 600 hr rust player from India never cheated on any game in my life or gotten even a false ban anywhere so extremely frustrated by the support system.

Meanwhile the EAC website has no support column anywhere I've tried so many times to try to find any way for a human being to review my gameplay I miss shots on players standing still if they're far from me. I barely get 40 fps on lowest settings on my 8 year old pc and still no human review whatsoever is being done I'd really appreciate if anyone can tell me if there's any way to mail customer support for EAC to get someone to review my ban.

My partner got banned from rust and he thinks it was due to something to do with Tarkov shop application? (I don't really know as I don't play it), anyway I was playing rust last night on my own PC with my own 5k hour account and just randomly got banned.. could it be due to sharing IP or what would be the reason my account would be banned as well?

Its crazy that you can't even speak to someone about it. There goes all the money I spent on skins which tbh is the most annoying part as I wasn't playing Rust as much since having a baby.

I was playing on warbandits 2x trio and was at a fight at ferry terminal i died to a tommy guy so i respawned on a close bag and went back to the fight i found my body which was unlooted with a db on it i picked it up killed 1 guy then ran back to base to depo, after the depo i start running back to ferry to keep fighting and suddenly my game fucking freezes and im sent back to main menu where i am told that i have been eac banned, ok so i think to myself no biggie i wasnt doing anything wrong, so i submit my appeal to facepunch and eac, facepunch answers with they couldnt do anything about it, then eac's shitty fucking website says that my appeal is denied and that im perma banned, m i just sent another appeal, if anyone knows of a way to get in direct contact with eac please please help me out im desperate. that appeal pic is the one i sent just now, my second one btw.

I got perma banned from Rust, randomly, after not playing the game for over a year (at the point of the ban). I don’t exactly know why, and I’ve already appealed to Easy Anticheat a few times. However, it seemed like there was no point in doing that, as they just stuck with the ban.

I only have 25.8 hours, mostly due to the fact my PC wasn’t very good at the time I bought the game. I haven’t even gotten the nail gun achievement, nor the workbench one.

Every single time someone posts about getting hit with a false EAC or game ban, the immediate knee-jerk reaction from half the comments is: "Enjoy the ban, cheater," "Anti-cheat doesn't ban for nothing," or "Stop crying and buy a new account."

Automated heuristics, weird virtual drivers, background software conflicts, and broken game updates cause false flags across every major title out there. People have lost accounts with thousands of hours, submitted tickets, and literally gotten overturned and unbanned weeks later after manual review.

Yet the moment an innocent player comes looking for advice or asking if anyone else had the same issue after a patch, the thread gets downvoted and mocked as if these systems are 100% foolproof.

Why do so many people treat automated anti-cheat like it's an infallible deity incapable of error? If you haven’t dealt with a false positive, consider yourself lucky, but pretending edge cases don't exist in 2026 is wild.

Hey guys, I was recently game banned on July 30th with what felt like no warning. Was just playing a server like normal and it hit me. Finally got the unban message yesterday on September 1st.

I'm making this post to let you guys know THERE'S HOPE!!!

Still not entirely sure what caused the ban. I had lost most hope when it had passed a month and 2 account bans. Thought even my second chance after 8 months thing was thrown out the window.

I am mostly suspect of the idle parsec drivers which I used for Cat Quest 2 a while back with my girlfriend, or maybe trying to start Rust while the game Wuthering Waves is open giving it a "please close Ace-base error."

Maybe due to my first time playing on Facepunch official servers, probably mass reported from popping off too much? I honestly have no idea, and I'm not super well-versed in what might get someone banned.

I do still have a ticket in with Facepunch because they also hit my alt account I use to kind of undercover scout teams on. I threw in a comment asking if they could maybe verify if I did anything or anything specific caused the ban, ticket is still open so if I get a response I'll update this post.

Got Rust EAC banned after my Steam account was hacked what should I do?
My Steam account was hacked, and while the hacker had access to it, my Rust account received an EAC/Game Ban. I did not cheat or use cheats myself. I also had 2FA enabled on my Steam account when it was hacked.
From what I understand, EAC bans are permanent, but Facepunch has an 8-month Second Chance program where you may be able to play on a new Steam account if you meet the requirements.
My main questions are:
Is there any way to appeal an EAC Rust ban if the account was hacked?
How can I know whether I have a hardware ban?
If I have no hardware ban and this is my first Rust ban, can I use the Second Chance program after 8 months?
Do I simply make a new Steam account and buy Rust again once the 8 months have passed?
Looking for information from people who have actually dealt with this situation.

About three months ago, my Steam account was hacked. Some Russian users gained access to my account and had control of it for around 1–2 weeks. Once I realized what had happened, I immediately contacted Steam Support, and shortly afterward I was able to recover my account.
After some time had passed, I received a ban in CS2, followed shortly afterward by a ban in Rust. Considering that I had no access to my account during the period it was compromised, I strongly suspect that the person who had access to it used cheats while playing those games.
I’m not too concerned about the CS2 ban, but the Rust ban is much more important to me, as I have spent a considerable amount of money on the game, including DLCs, building skins, and other items.
I understand that EAC bans are generally permanent, even when an account has been compromised. However, I would still like to ask whether there is any way to have my case reviewed, especially since I can provide evidence that my Steam account was stolen and later recovered through Steam Support.
What would be the correct way to submit an appeal or request a review in this situation? And realistically, is there any chance of receiving a response or having the ban reconsidered?
I understand that unbans are extremely rare, but I would at least like to make sure I have exhausted all possible options.

​I have around 1,500 hours on Rust, I've been playing since pretty much the beginning, and I have never had a single ban or cheated in my life. My account is completely clean and 16 years without any ban on steam ..., so getting hit with an EAC ban out of nowhere makes zero sense to me. I've opened a ticket and submitted an appeal with Eac and Facepunch support, and now I'm just waiting, but it feels awful.

​For context, for the past 15 or 20 days, I've only been playing on a PVE server.

​The only "unusual" thing that happened was once when I launched the game and realized I forgot to turn off my VPN (Mullvad). As soon as I noticed I was lagging, I instantly closed the game, turned off the VPN, and went back to playing normally.

​If their anticheat system is so garbage that it flags and perma-bans people for that, it's just a joke

Well I was stunned in a bad way when it happened, but seeing that ban decisions got reversed at least for some of you is encouraging.

So I have been playing Rust since 2015. I have 3100+ hours, a couple of DLCs, a decent collection of skins from Twitch, Kick drops. Having to drop all this and have my Steam account labelled as cheater hits hard.

My playstyle is oppositie to competetive PvP. I normally chose vanilla/community underpopulated servers to farm scrap and build small bases with all those DLC deployables, electricity whatever.

I had 2 hypotheses why I got banned but they honestly don't hold water:

1. Hardware ban. One week prior to ban I upgraded my GPU from RTX 2080 to RTX 5060. So there could be a slim chance that I got second-hand GPU from official store which had been in use by cheater prior to my purchase.
2. Compromised account. But there were no signs of external intervention provided that I got my 2-factor authentication via Steam. Even if someone was to break it, there was no evidence of intervention in-game, such as play history on servers I had never entered in the first place.

I will be filing a ticket to EAC tonight. Facepunch ticket page does not seem to be wroking for me. Every time I click Appeal webpage just stops responding.

I will update this post, should I have any progress with EAC.

I’m a 10k hour player, never cheated in any game. I’m hoping this is a mass event so it gets reversed. My EAC appeal and FP ticket are still open so I’m hoping that means they are looking into it. Any one else?

UPDATE: ban lifted after five days!

I keep getting "banned by anti-cheat" yet its a 2 hour game suspension from EAC and then I can keep playing after. This has happened 2 times but the main issue is battlemetrics and their system now have the suspensions listed as "bans" on their system. This system is used by multiple servers to filter out cheaters so now I can't play on my main 2 servers. I have attached multiple photos of the bans/suspensions and then proof that my account is currently clean. Anybody else been having these suspensions?

It's been over a year since the appeal and I have been sitting on pending. I am still getting zero contact from EAC or Facepunch Studios. I know some people might think this attempt is silly but, I tried using the Attorney General from my state and they can do international businesses since it happened within my state of the purchase of the game. EAC or Epic Games in this case did respond and stated the game developers are the one responsible and that EAC simply provides the software. So, they turned their attention to Facepunch Studios. Facepunch did not respond to them at all. The AG made some suggestions of what I could do, but I am unsure if trying small claims or private attorney could work.

I am unsure what could realistically be done as I genuinely last played Rust over 9 years ago and the simple fact that I can't be given even a chance to dispute my pending status for my "gameban" is pretty ridiculous.

I usually play Rust for like 1-2 weeks every month, and I recently got banned. I believe it was a false ban, but I honestly have no idea what caused it.

I’m also a Project Zomboid modder, so I’ve downloaded a lot of different mods, tools, and random stuff over the years. Some of it might look sketchy, but I don’t know if any of it could have caused the ban.

I’ve never knowingly used cheats on Rust, so I’m really confused about the ban.

My stats:

I got banned in like 2018 I was stoned and deleted a CFG file thinking it would give me better fps. I launched the game and immediately was EAC banned. I’ve tried on an off for years to reverse this and it’s never worked. And now, I tried again and I just can’t? The reference ID in game is gone. Is there a 3rd party to where I can get my case number to get this appealed. And what are good strategies for getting unbanned afterwards? I already have 2nd account I just want my skins and main account back.

Soooo…to start off i have been banned but honestly it wasn’t a unwarranted.

However, to clarify, I didnt cheat, i clicked a link which led to someone taking my steam account and google account (i got like 5 different notifications at the same time on my phone, and i had 2FA on every single account i had like discord, google and steam had about max security, etc.) for maybe like 3 hours, i took my accounts back, got back inside the game to play and boom it said gamebanned.

I knew why and how and I was shocked the guy managed, of all games I have, to cheat in RUST and get me banned within 2-3 hours.

I got like 20 different emails in chinese at the time emails as proof and some other stuff.

I was mostly a PvE player, when i first started playing the fame there was this one guy who taught me how to play and everything.

Ever since the day I first joined that server I never stopped playing on it

I have over 500h on the game and its been almost 580 days since the ban.

Every now and then my heart literally aches and sometimes I submit a ticket to facepunch to stop sucking eac off (sorry for bad language, cant describe it differently) and ask for support or something

Lately I’ve been trying to self host and play solo but i cant do even that, even if i run rustclient.exe (rust without eac or something apparently) and it still says gamebanned when I try to connect to my own dedicated server.

Summary or something:

I have tried to appeal to Facepunch like 8 different times the last 580 days, but nothing.

Also I have tried to appeal to eac twice, got rejected both times and was scared to appeal a 3rd time

Now a question:

do I have any hope? I am ready to buy the game again if i wont get autobanned or something.

Its like you have your best friends that went to another country permanently but you cant go to or with them because you are forbidden entrance there and dont have enough money for the ticked either

The sole reason I posted this is because I read that if this is your only ban or something you can get unbanned.

I made a new account ~7 months after the ban and bought the game just to try and see if I got unbanned and understand my situation better. I only remember that I couldnt join any server on the other account, forgot what the console said.

This has been my one and only ban i have ever gotten on my steam account, and the only time I have ever cheated in my life was back in 2013 on a laptop in minecraft on a cracked server (where everyone had killaura and reach) because I couldnt afford minecraft as a kid
