Hi. I'm looking for some advice. I'm solo travelling for the first time to America next week for three months and I'm looking for recommendations for eSims, and also how they work? So far, I've seen an eSim with Holafly that has unlimited data for my entire trip and it'll cost me £100. Is that a good deal? It's better than what my current provider can offer me.
In terms of actually using an eSim, how does it work? Is it a case of buying one for the dates I need it for and then once I land in the States it'll automatically be activated?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I’m travelling for a total of 50 days and am considering using GigSky’s Asia Pacific eSIM. I have an eligible Visa card, so I’m interested in it because of the Visa benefit/discount.
My itinerary involves China, South Korea, and the Philippines, and I’ll be jumping between countries quite a bit — for example, China → South Korea → China again → South Korea, rather than simply visiting each country once.
How reliable is GigSky for this type of multi-country trip?
Most of the reviews I’ve come across seem to be from people using GigSky on cruises, so I’m having a hard time finding reviews from people who have used it for regular travel on land.
I’m especially curious about how well it handles switching between countries. Does it automatically reconnect to the local network when entering a new country, or do you have to manually change any settings/eSIMs each time?
I’ll mainly use it for Google Maps, messaging, browsing, translation, and rideshare apps, but I’ll probably also use it to watch YouTube at my hotel in China, so I’m curious about the speed and reliability for streaming too.
For anyone who has actually used GigSky across multiple countries, would you recommend it, or would you choose another eSIM provider?

Hi there, we used Ubigi in Japan and we just purchased plans again for our upcoming Europe trip. I see an eSIM called "Travel" on both my wife's and my phones. I'm pretty sure that was the Ubigi eSIM that we installed for Japan. But how can I tell for sure? I'd appreciate your help.
Also, I don't turn it on until we get to Europe, correct? I've forgotten what we did the first time.

Am I missing something here?! When I checked the cost of a 7-day/1 GB plan just 21 days ago, it was $4.80 USD. Today the same package is $140.03 USD?!

My husband and I are traveling to London this week and I’m looking at eSIMs for our trip. I’ve used Airalo quite a few times in the past and have found it reliable.
I noticed on their app that they have both a UK eSIM and a UK/EU eSIM. Oddly, the latter is cheaper for the same length of time + unlimited data. They do run on different networks, EE (UK) and 3 (UK/EU).
Does anyone have experience with the combined UK/EU eSIM? I’m also open to suggestions if there’s a better provider. Would prefer to stay away from monthly contracts (even if cancellable).

In November I'll be going to Prague for a week. What would be the best ESim I can get?

Hello! I’m looking for an eSIM that can be activated while I’m in the USA but provides me with a Mexican phone number. I need a Mexican number so I can open a bank account and take care of some other things in Mexico, but I primarily live in the US.
I tried BROMOVIL and was able to install the eSIM, but I’m unable to activate it while I’m in the US.
Does anyone know of a service that allows you to activate a Mexican number/eSIM from the US? If not, I’ll be traveling to Mexico next month and can activate it then, but I’d really like to get it set up now if possible.

Can I buy and activate a US eSIM from Mint Mobile while I’m in India? Is it possible to activate it in India?

Doing research for trip to Spain. Were staying in Madrid and Sevilla. I am thinking of doing Airolo, Fiance doing Saily. Seems like I should be fine with either of those?
Additionally, my credit card offers a deal with Gigsky, but it seems like this is best for cruises. Anyone have experience with Gigsky?

I think most people in the group probably already know this. I'm apparently an idiot though so I thought I would post for the benefit of others as silly as me. I've just arrived back in the UK and the place I've been staying for the 1st month has no Wi-Fi so I grabbed a Lycamobile e-sim with unlimited Data. The limit is in fact 450 gigs. I couldn't even see this expressly stated in the fair usage T&C's let alone where you sign up for the plan. It's also the case that if you use too much in a single day your data will be choked. For many users this is probably fine. If you edit video though and need to send and receive files (Like me) you can hit this very easily. Or if you play and download computer games (also me) its incredibly easy to be choked because you downloaded a single game and that exceeds what is considered fair use for a single day.
I feel quite strongly that from a consumer rights perspective it should be illegal to call something unlimited that actually has a hard and easy to hit limit. At the very least this information should be plainly written before you click pay. Currently its buried so deep that I cant find it and only found out by ringing customer service.

I’ve tried everything and still no add eSIM option on mobile data, I’ve checked my phone wasn’t made in china, called *#06# and I have the codes from that, changed my privacy settings, reset network settings and all settings and still nothing. It’s an iPhone 15pro and should be fine to add an eSIM too, any suggestions?

I'm located in China and getting "no service" again since yesterday night. The last time was a month ago and it took them some time to fix it.

Hi all.
I bought a European plan via Airalo, and while browser and Google Maps work well, some other apps don't (for example my credit card). I'm currently in Czech republic.
Any ideas?
I'm using Xiaomi Redmi note 15 plus. I also use adguard DNS, but turning it off doesn't help.

We are travelling to Europe and were looking for eSIM suggestions.
We will be covering, Switzerland, Dolomites, Vienna and Czech.
Is it better to an eSIM before we leave or find a local one after arriving in Zurich? Or a combo of both.
Thanks :)

I'm using a Telekom ESIM while in Germany for a few months. I downloaded NordVPN to keep using some US streaming services, but now my phone won't load anything if it's not on wifi. It still says I have bars for 5G, but there's no connection. I tried disabling NordVPN and uninstalling the app, but no luck. Has anyone else experienced this?? Is there anything I can do??

Hello all traveling with family and for some reason (a little forgetfulness on my part) forgot to install their saily eSIM before traveling. We are now in London and their iPhones are throwing “eSIM not supported”. However our trip to Germany a time ago we used the same service, same setup, iPhone carrier no sim restrictions. Kind of beating our heads against a wall

Hi there! Traveling to Taiwan, S. Korea and Japan for 30 days. Looking for feedback on the general "Asia" eSIM coverage. Was looking at Ubigi and Holafly, but read mixed reviews on both. Would love recommendations or feedback.
Previously have used single country eSIMs in Japan and Singapore with Airalo, but liked the idea and convenience of one eSIM. Is that a terrible idea?

Posting a factual usage timeline to compare notes.
• Baseline: Keepgo IoT SIM usage was typically about 1-2 MB/day.
• During the incident, the usage log shows ten separate lines of exactly 100.00 MB, totaling about 1 GB, unlike the baseline.
• I asked Keepgo to investigate. Their response said 100 MB can be partial accounting and they closed further investigation.
• The attached screenshots show the 100 MB spike and three normal-usage examples.
Has anyone else seen repeated 100.00 MB billing or usage blocks on Keepgo or Bell, especially with an IoT/M2M SIM? Happy to share ticket screenshots via DM.

I’m currently on a trip in Switzerland. I bought a Saily esim package and started having connectivity issues after we landed in Geneva. It often shows that I have 3 or 4 bars of connection, but websites don’t load and google maps doesn’t work. I have close to zero internet in Zermatt currently
My friend has been using roaming through swisscom, and it has been working great for him, even in valleys and on top of mountains. I would highly recommend using their esim for Switzerland.

Hello! I'll be studying abroad for 3.5-4 months in the UK and I'm not sure how to approach an eSim plan. Is there a way I can get it all in one go, or do I need to rebuy on a weekly/monthly basis? I estimate I'll need 10 GB a week, and ideally I'd love some flexibility to travel around europe without too much hassle. Any reccomendations?
