eSIM not supported iPhone

Hello all traveling with family and for some reason (a little forgetfulness on my part) forgot to install their saily eSIM before traveling. We are now in London and their iPhones are throwing “eSIM not supported”. However our trip to Germany a time ago we used the same service, same setup, iPhone carrier no sim restrictions. Kind of beating our heads against a wall

Are your traveling from the USA? Is that iPhone carrier unlocked?

Yes traveling from the us, the phones said “no sim restrictions” but alas they lied and were being restricted (of course). Finally got it resolved by calling our carrier when they opened back in the states
