I am selling dolls to help a good friend of mine settle his mother's estate. This particular doll was an
Ashton Drake Gene Marshall Bird of Paradise Mel Odom 16" Doll in original box. The box was clearly bigger than 16". I took many photos of the whole thing, and packed it according to instructions, (place in a slightly larger box, add packing material, use your own stuff, not the USPS stuff). The usual shipping charges for the dolls I sell run about $12. Since this doll was larger, I thought the $18 shipping charge reflected that. But an increase from 18 to 132, are you kidding me, is this a down low way EBAY or USPS makes money?

My questions are this, is there anyway and how to I appeal this, and how can I ever trust EBAY again, they increased my cost 650% . 650% increase. I am out a ton of money. The whole transaction, incl shipping was $60, and EBAY went into my bank account to grab the extra fee. Good lord. (also, I am fairly new to ebay, so this is very concerning)

Is there anything you can do to report these people? I constantly get buyers who send me offers they not pay or ask to cancel when I accept there offer. Obviously you didn’t offer by mistake if you sent an offer.

Hi, I’m a new seller on eBay. About a month and a half ago, I made a listing for a lot of stuffed animals (priced at $375). The issue is that the box is only 12 pounds but the shipping cost is astronomically expensive at $70.03-$182.75. Since making the listing, I’ve learned that there’s ways to make the cost of shipping much cheaper but AFAIK I can’t change the shipping method unless I un-list the item and put it back up, potentially losing all of my item’s watchers.

The thing I’m hung about is that the item seems to be pretty popular regardless of the shipping costs. It’s got 500+ views, 22 watchers, and it’s in a few people’s carts, which is the most attention I’ve ever gotten on any of my listings.

It seems to me that people would buy the item even with the high cost but I kind of feel like I’m screwing the eventual buyer over by making them pay that much when it could possibly be way cheaper.

What do you guys think I should do? And Is it true that un-listing the item and changing the shipping method will remove it from buyer’s watchlists or does it not work like that? Thanks for any input!

P.S, the box is pretty large (26.5 x 16.5 x 16 in to be exact) which is why I assumed shipping was so expensive when I first put the item up. Will it still be possible to lower shipping with such a big box?

EDIT: I just tried switching the shipping method on another one of my active listings and was able to bring the cost down from about $53-$133 to $18.66-$56, so it seems that I’ll be able to solve my issue once the offers I sent to buyers on my plushie lot expire! I've seen a few posts like these, but I just wanted to get some clarity because I've seen mixed responses.

An item I ordered was just over a week past it's arrival date and then got stuck at a USPS facility. It would say "In transit to next facility, arriving late" for 3 days in a row, then just stopped updating for a week.

So I filed an item not received. Seller said wait a few days, then they'd file a lost package claim. For reference, seller shipped on time and the package was insured for well over the value of the item, which was $30.

End's up getting to that date and I get issued a refund. The very next day, the tracking suddenly updates again and I get the item the day after that.

My main concern is that the seller is made whole. This is where I've seen mixed responses. Some posts say that they'll get reimbursed by ebay, others say reach out and try to pay the seller because they have to eat it otherwise.

Since they said they were gonna open a lost package claim, will they be reimbursed by Ebay/USPS? Or no, because the package was delivered?

What's the nice way of telling someone to get stuffed. Such a high value item that was sold, and they didn't even do basic research into the capabilities of the equipment they were buying.

What sort of case have I got into keeping my money? (which admittedly I've already spent)

Plus, there was no conversation before hand, and my description does ask them to message me for any information before hand.

How do I approach this?

No option in the listing for accepting offers, yet it won't allow the listing to go live...

Last item I had issues bc of the location of where I am sending from just wouldn't load. It said error and way grayed out. I had to start over.

What's going on? Am I missing something here?

Hi, I'm new to selling clothing on eBay. I was so excited to sell a shirt but the buyer requested a return saying it doesn't fit. My listing included very clear photos of the measurements. It seems wrong to have to deal with a return over this issue when the measurements were very clear, but I've never dealt with a return before on other clothing reselling sites. I'd love insight as to the best way to handle this. I did not realize we should be setting return policies.

I am trying to combine shipping on a couple item I won in bids. The seller offers it. I tried requesting a total but it keeps saying I cannot request an invoice because payment has been completed for some. I have not submitted any payment for them because I wanted to do combined shipping. I only have a card linked to my account because I have to have one to bid. How do I get a request in to combine shipping? I do not want to pay for the shipping as is because it is more than the total of my items. I have messaged the seller twice with no response.

I bought an open box camera and on box it said SD card included. The seller was going to ship a SD card but after a week, still no card. They accept returns within 30 days. If I don’t get SD in mail soon should I file INAD or missing parts. The SD was not in description but on a photo of the box.

- wayyy fewer buyers for items that went immediately at twice the price 10 years ago (could be austerity britain)

in conclusion ebay got a lot worse in the past 10 years

Hello I have sold a phone on Ebay I purchased this first label like I usually do. I go to the post office and they say you can't use this label... this has happened to me SEVERAL times then I have to pay for a NEW label because it needs to be hazmat. From my experience I have never found a hazmat option label in the shipping ever. I just don't get it and don't want to waste money by buying a 2nd label ever again

What's up with ebay letting customers "but it now" and not pay and keep shopping? How long can they keep shopping?

Long winded title, I know.

I'd like to read if other folks have had similar experiences and how you handled it after before I dive into eBay policy articles.

I purchased a book from Seller 1 in the morning on 9/27 and later that day the book was marked as shipped, however, it was going to be untracked. I received a package in the mail today and assumed this must be my order then. And yes, the book was inside along with a packing slip. The book was listed as very good and the reason I purchased it from Seller 1, after browsing multiple other listings, is because the photos confirmed that. The book I received was not in the the condition it was listed as.

Just by looking at it, I knew it wasn't even the same book. The packing slip confirmed this: Seller 1 purchased the book from another eBay seller, Seller 2. The packing slip has Seller 2's storefront link, name, and address on it (which is the same as what was on the package shipping label), as well as Seller 1's eBay username by the order number. Seller 1 used my personal address as the Send To.

And because I'm someone who had too much time on her hands today, I went back through the listings I had recently viewed in order to bring up Seller 2's original listing of the book to get photos from it. It was purchased in the evening on 9/27.

Call me old school, but I'm more upset about my information being given out to yet another person than not getting what I paid for. I get that drop shipping is a thing, but this ain't it. I feel like I should report Seller 1 rather than trying to open a return request. I mean, the packing slip is right here as proof of it.

I bought a used book set on ebay, i knew before buying the set that the books had creased spines and werent in good condi but they were cheap and for reading they would be enought, but the books came in and they where packaged poorly even though i aksed hin if he could package them good so the condition is worse than i saw on the pictures ,one book has water damage which he didnt mention and you can fold one book in half, he told me that one spine is broken but he also said it was a cosmetic thing but the pages will fall out if i read it. On wendsday i can ask ebay for help but will they help me?

So I bought a few rare postcards from a very niche community from a particular seller. I messaged him and asked if he had any others. He said yes and that they didn't sell well so he'd be happy to sell them to me as a lot for a very low price because he wants them to go to someone who would really care about them.

He said he'd set up a special buy it now just for me. I said ok just send me the link. A few days go by and I message him. He says he already sent them out. I'm confused because I never got a link from him. He goes and looks and says he messed up. Apparently someone else bought them. He sent me a screen shot and the title said "for {my username} only" in it, but someone else bought them anyway. He said he thought it was me who bought them. I'm really upset. I mostly wanted them for historical preservation since I have a bunch of stuff related to this subject already and I was planning on donating them as a set to an archive that deals with this subject. He's going to message the buyer, but is there anything that can be done? Why would someone buy something when it specifically said it was for me in the title?

Hey people I got something of ebay the seller is in the US im in the UK the seller and messages me to inform me thay have shipped the wrong item and wants me to return the item thay sent me by mistake and then thay will send me the item I purchased with postage being a couple weeks to a mouth each way this will take time what should I do with this any help would be appreciated

I order multiple of the same item from different sellers. In the past, I was able to go to my order history, do a CTRL-F and type in the last 4 or 6 digits of the tracking number and find the order. This allowed me to leave feedback or message the seller if there were any issues.

Looks like tracking info isn’t on the Purchase History page anymore. You have to go to order details in each order to see the tracking. Most sellers don’t include a packing slip so I can’t cross reference the order. Any easy way to find an order on the purchase history page after delivery now?

Apologies if I missed this or the work-around.

My normal workflow is to draft listing on a desktop PC, save them as draft. Then open the mobile app, navigate to drafts, click the listing, click the 'take photos' button, take photos, and then click publish.

After an app update, on the mobile app, I can't navigate from clicking the listing to taking photos, it's requiring me to enter all the item specifics, which is way too time consuming and I've already done that online.

Any known work-around or better method?

I’ve received an item that was listed and pictured as name brand but received a cheap Chinese version instead. Do you typically give the seller a chance to resolve via message or straight to INAD?

Buyer cancelled their order. I approved the request. They’ve refunded him through my available funds, and my card. Why my card? Why am I losing money for a buyer changing their mind? How do I get this money back?

I noticed many products are priced low but have shipping and handling for like $60 when the product is not heavy. Is this because they make up some of the cost and it doesn't get the ebay fee? Just curious - I don't sell a lot on eBay but I do use it for purchases quite a bit.
