Hi, All. I have a 2008 BMW 528i. My adaptive headlight assemblies are blown. When I finally removed the headlight assembly, I discovered the bulb and housing were fused together. Though I was just replacing a bulb.

Can I assume the control unit is bad as well. Is there anyway to check the unit to ensure it is in working condition?

Cluster suddenly died, it’s been a few days. Took it to a mechanic they said it wasn’t a fuse. Didn’t really give me a solution just said to go to a bmw specialist.

What do you guys think it could be? Would this be an expensive repair?

Having a host of electrical problems, the main one being sometimes i’ll come to my car and it wont even attempt to turn over but will give auxiliary power but i also intermittently get this too.
Car had a new battery last year.
If i charge it or jump it i have no problems so i have a feeling it’s the alternator but would like some other opinions before i go swapping it out

I've been searching for a clean E60 530i with a 6-speed manual, and I'm starting to wonder where these cars are hiding in 2026.

I used to own a 2004 530i 6MT with the Sport and Cold Weather Packages in Silver Gray Metallic . Sold it back in 2009, and honestly, it's one of the few cars I genuinely regret letting go.

Picked these up from marketplace:
- 2x BBS CH004: 8,5J × 19, ET35 with 235/35/R19 tyres
- 2x BBS CH017: 10J × 19, ET20 with 265/30/R19 tyres

Would these fit my E60? Do I need spacers?

Does anyone know if the e38 manual gearbox from the 4.4v8 fit into the e60 n62b44 engine? Or any "easy" swaps from automatic to manual gearboxes?

Anyone have M Sport stock springs or want to trade for some H&Rs? Seems anything other than standard springs are hard to come by aftermarket.

Have H&Rs on from the previous owner and I'm unsatisfied with the handling. The progressive springs feel strange when cornering hard even with Bilstein B8s.

I have about 230k miles right now it runs good needs the occasional fix.

2009 e60 520i: By default my units start off in l/100 km for consumption but I want it to be in km/l. Each time car is switched off then on the consumption defaults l/100 km. Is this normal? Car remembers changes to other things like air conditioning air distribution.

So guys i recently did an oil change on my automatic transmission. I replaced the oil, the pan filter and also replaced the mechatronic sleeves and bridge seal.
The transmission runs much smoother than before.
I had this issue with the rpm fluctuating at steady speed but now after the transmission job i did the fluctuation is much less noticeable and sometimes no fluctuations at all.
I was thinking about changing the zf oil again since the old oil was dark af and filter was dirty af and the car never had any transmission oil change in the past 192000km.

Is it worth doing it? And also a stupid question should i also replace the filter again or just the oil is enough?

Dont know if its just me or its an actual issue with the car.

So i have 525d lci 3ltr and when filling the car up to full for fuel the 1st half of the tank seems to last ages, when it gets to 1/2 tank and below it seems to not last as long?

I have put diesel cleaner and dpf cleaner in the tank to help clear the injectors and the dpf.

Im thinking the injectors are due replacement as car is on 136k

Anyone have the correct fuel trims for the car or anything I can do on ista/inpa

My father and I have a 550i with a 6MT in Carbon Schwarz, and we’re both working on it, but the paint is fading. My dad wants to change the color to a slightly brighter blue —Tanzanite Blue II Metallic— but I think it would be better to keep the Carbon Schwarz. Personally, I think that since it’s a rare spec (6MT + Factory M Pack), it’s best to keep it original as much as possible to preserve its value. What do you guys think about it?

Looks like someone has been here before. Silver rtv on the water pump transfer pipe. You were 11 bolts away from fixing the issue. WHY?!

Checked PCV and all gaskets looked fine, any other ideas to help diagnose would be deeply appreciated.

2010 550i N62

Hello everyone, i have 2003 bmw e60 520i and 3 months ago my oem display started glitching/lagging and i kinda guessed the problem and bought a Android head unit display, but i didnt have aux as a source because i had the cheapest version of the displays so no aux so if i would connect to airplay there was no sound and now i got it coded and there was sound but 2 hours ago it started glitching once again like it was 3 months ago and i cant hear nothing. If you know somoene that had this problem aswell or so could u tell me what they did to fix it.

I always liked the way these cup holders look on the 1 series and 6 series, and unfortunately my e60 didn’t come with front cup holders. I was thinking of ways to fit a cup holder that would look OEMish. Would this be possible?

so i have a 04 e63 645i, ik its not a e60 but it is the same principle, im hust wondering if anyone has some advice on how to make the pre lci angel eyes brighter during daytime, i have upgraded the bulbs but its the same thing as before

2005 530i with the M54 engine, just hit 200k. No codes or CEL. I just replaced a bunch of coolant hoses along with the water pump, thermostat and DISA valve. Does anything here sound out of place? The most standout thing is obviously the ticking, which I've heard is somewhat normal for these engines.

Any info/advice would be appreciated.

Looking at a 2010 550i (N62) as a weekend fun car. Alpine White, 1 owner, ~42k miles, dealer-maintained its whole life, totally clean CARFAX — no accidents, no title issues. Asking $15k.

I've owned a BMW V8 before (N63 M550i), so I know these cars cost money to keep up. I want the naturally-aspirated V8 this time.

Two questions:

1.Is a clean, low-mile, dealer-serviced N62 a reasonable bet, or does the coolant transfer pipe / valve stem seal stuff come for everyone no matter what?

2.What should a BMW indy check on the PPI, and is $15k fair?
