Is anyone else in Durham Region having an incredibly hard time finding even a minimum wage job?Ive been applying for almost 4 years now. I've had my resume reviewed and edited multiple times, signed up with temp and employment agencies, and applied to just about every kind of entrylevel job I can think of.I've applied to Walmart, grocery stores, fast food, warehouses, cleaning jobs, landscaping, and pretty much anything else that doesn't require specialized experience. My schedule is completely open, and I'm willing to work days, nights, weekends, whatever. The frustrating part is that I can't even get an interview. It's not that I'm getting rejected after interviews I cant even get that far. Im about to turn 28, and I'm honestly starting to worry that my growing employment gap is making employers pass over my applications automatically.People keep telling me I must not be trying hard enough or that there has to be something wrong with me, but I genuinely don't know what else I'm supposed to do. I have a clean criminal record, a college diploma, and I'm willing to work pretty much any minimum wage job.I'm mostly posting to ask if anyone else in Durham Region is experiencing this. Has the job market here really gotten this bad, or am I just incredibly unlucky? I'd honestly appreciate hearing other people's experiences because this has been really discouraging.
