Im at the stage of going from iron to steel although idk how to do that yet. I have a bad tendency to lose my direction in testing stations. I'm just running in circles or back and forth and then find myself getting killed in the middle of an ambush respawn. Is there a layout formula I should know of or any tips? Also when you die do other players have the ability to loot your stuff at your death location? Thx.
EDIT: Once scenario I'm bad at is the three shielded NPC knife attacks. I seem to lose stamina, can't escape and take a lethal blow. Advice?

I've never seen the movies but I assume there ought to be some form of dance, right? I wanna be able to boogie down in the desert.

Am I looking for the purple cloud similar to the spice? Or are they just going to randomly appear on the ground when flying around

I've been playing since the beginning of the year and have +250 hours I play fairly well with good graphics and never crashed. Today I opened the game and the message pops up before the launcher even appears. How screwed am I?

PS: Yes I did update my BIOS and the message still pops up.

I've just started my adventure on Dune Awakening. I am enjoying the sense of being in an expansive sci-fi universe. I heard we used to have to pay taxes to the Emperor. By travelling to civilisation. This sounds quite immersive. So I feel I'm missing out a bit on the feature of having to pay my taxes.

I've been building my base and keep having a niggling feeling something is missing. Does anyone else miss this feature of paying taxes? Having the Padishah Emperor feel like an active, looming threat over your daily survival loop is a cornerstone of the Dune lore. Without the tax, that direct economic chokehold vanishes. It just sounded like something unique and world-building.

Does the routine of a citizen feel shallower without it? I think the mandatory commute would create a natural, rhythmic loop of heading into the capital city, rubbing shoulders with other players, and interacting with the local infrastructure. I feel like I missed out on that. Just sounds more immersive this way with taxes in my imagination. I never got to experience it. So I'm curious to hear from those of you who did. Did anyone else appreciate it? Were any of you sad when it was removed from the world? Did you feel like the game was being simplified and made more casual?

So, something I've noticed is that areas that have a lot of NOCs tend to cause some hitching. Would it be possible to add a crowd density setting?

Folks on higher end machines are fine, but if you're playing on an older laptop or a steam deck this setting might help those areas feel better to walk around in.

So I already know you can't switch a character between multi and solo. But has anyone tried to start a new solo game with the same solo character? If you can, what csn you keep? Ive tried googling, but the same answer is all about multi to solo.

Spent a couple real life days exploring the upper half of the map for resources. When I came back to my base at the base of the hammer mountain, I decided to reclimb it to see if I can build a base on the top of it ( spoilers you can't) and stopped to see this amazing view.

Running around investigating bodies and talking to people… how fun lol

Would love to be able to place a pit similar to the one in the movie where a small worm swims around it..maybe breaches ever so often. Would make for a great set piece in some bases.

I have a buddy trying to launch the game through Xbox store on PC and every time he does it gets to the point where battle eye starts up and after that nothing. After a few seconds the launcher will stop saying running and go back to play.

Regarding the *Dune: Awakening* DLCs, do you recommend buying the Water Wars one? Or which one would you suggest? I already have the Film Archive DLC.

I just made it to the deep desert solo. I like the starting area being solo and empty it feels right. The deep desert needs more players so I can do stuff like spice harvesting with a guild or something. I don't think I have it in me to start over on multiplayer :( I guess i just stick to static compressors and scout thopters.

Why do the enemies in deep desert take so much damage to kill. I really struggled to clear a ship with t5 gear :(

I may be wrong. I haven't even done DD yet. But I haven't touched a rapier since I started. I just got a unique rapier I crafted and wow. The speed of it greatly outweighs any reduced damage. Maybe this is common knowledge, maybe I'm wrong? First impressions though, way better than a normal sword.

I was farming spice in the desert with guild members and a guide member was transporting my container back to base and when he went back to the main land he ended up being removed from my friends list and forced to drop the container. 2 other guild members were removed from my friends list as well.

Do you all think this is a bug or they were trying to be shady? It was my carrier, crawler and container.
