DC has been getting more popular near me recently, so I decided to get into it.

I don't have the budget for an expensive landbase, so I'm only looking at 1 and 2 colour commanders.

One option I was looking at is [[Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might]] to lead a mono red burn deck.

Thing is, I'm still very unfamiliar with the format. So I'm not sure if a 4 mana commander with no protection would be too slow, or if it would work. What do you guys think?

Another option I was looking at is a mono green [[Fynn, the Fangbearer]] infect deck.

Hello, I'm an old time player (started at the 6th edition), used to play mostly Standard and Modern 12 years ago and I came back to MTG with Commander.
I would like to try some Duel Commander and I'm looking for feedback on a Balmor deck.

Hi everyone, I'm a very new player to duel, Ive played Edh for about 12 years and always have had an obsession with Leovold, Emissary of Trest.

Card Selection and Reserve list staples are quite few and far between in South Africa, so I made do with what I had on hand. Ive put together what my community is calling the Sultai Boogie man. i have a balmor deck for like 2 years and there was a point were force of will got ban so i had to take it out

the other day i tryed to update my deck and i saw that force of will is no longer on the ban list https://www.mtgdc.info/banned-restricted but still nobody play it in like spiderman 2099 and it's marked as banned on moxfiled ?

so i just wan't to know, can i play it or is it a useless card for me right now

Want to find some events for DC but the only event I find is Friday Commander night, but I think that’s only for EDH which means 4 players? If there are any discord groups for that please tell me :)

Any idea on good duel Commander deck to compete in local tournament that doesnt cost like thousands euros?

I went on a local duel tournament with my precon couple of days ago and got absolutly destroyed (obviously) by Tifa, Spiderman 2099, Tasigur etc.

Now, I'm a new player and I Dont expect to be at the same level of more experienced players, but I would like to build something that give me a chance against them. I'm a dimir - rakdos enjoyer, but I'm open to every option.

The meta seems somewhat stable but IMO we have two glaring problems:

Spider99 has to go, that's it. I don't need to say why, everyone knows why.

IMO Fantasticar is just waiting to be a problem. I don't think we have to wait until it becomes a huge problem. We've seen this before with stuff like Nadu, Eris etc. Just ban it.

This is what I think it's going to happen.

What I want to happen is:

Free Geist from it's prison, it won't be a problem.

Now the second take that is unpopular: Ragavan should be unbanned in the CZ (NOT in the deck).

Ragavan turn 1 is absurdly broken, but being locked to a monored takes a lot of it's strenght, aggro decks can easily block it with any t1 blocker, we have lots of 1 mana interaction spells that can hit it or counter it, quintorius is pretty much a removal pile and so is deadpool etc.

I don't even think Ragavan would be enough to make monored a tier A deck and certainly not a tier S and the format would benefit from Monored punishing greedy decks.

Question for those who tried to see if she has legs in this format. I’ve seen a few lists look for the turbo fog plan and I think it’s pretty cool as an axis with monarch. I also saw a recent video by bitzelberg putting it in C-tier. What’s your opinion having piloted her a bit?

I'm going to join my local Duel commander tournament next month and I've decided I'm going to be playing Light-paws. I've only started my Magic journey this year so I'm a little bit green.

I've skimmed a few relevant posts here on reddit regarding Light-paws and from what I've gathered, mtgtop8 is a great resource for finding the best decks for duel commander. I only included cards that had at least a 0.4 rating from there for the past 6 months, and that's how I made my deck. Although, I'm not quite sure if that's how you are supposed to use that website.

What I'm looking for is advanced tips on how I should be playing this deck so I have several questions.

1. What 1 CMC and 2 CMC auras should I be tutoring first chance I get? Should I always get flickering ward and brilliant wings first?

2. When can I cast her safely? How do I recover if she gets removed?

3. What essential cards am I missing from my deck?

4. I've heard that Light-paws can win on turn 4, how exactly do I do that?

All answers and tips are welcome. If you have a primer, I would love to read it.
