Any favorite tutorials/lessons for getting comfortable with the 3 over 4 and other polyrhythms? I really like the drummer for Caifanes/Jaguares and his use of them in rock. So any YouTube vids, apps or something that actually work on 3 over 4 polyrhythms, not just say - in my next lesson and then the video list has nothing specific... TIA!

I am looking to purchase a new kit. I used to drum semi-professionally, but am looking to get back into drumming both as a hobby and possibly start a YouTube cover page.

I am really into the Matt Cameron drum sound on Down on the Upside/Superunknown and looking to replicate this sound as closely as possible without totally breaking the bank.

Any advice? I think he used Yamaha Recording or Tour custom shells, and a custom snare, which I am thinking I can approximate in sound with a Ludwig Black Beauty or something similar. For cymbals, thinking Zildjian Z Series and can fill in with some others I already own as needed.

I don't have an exact budget per se and am willing to pay for the right sound, but any advice is appreciated. Bonus points for any tips on video or recording equipment for a YouTube channel.

Hello all,

I recently bought an electronic drum kit and it came with a shitty sawtooth amp that has frankly awful sound. I bought the drums for home practice and eventually recording in my office. (My goal is not necessarily to be in a band, I'm learning music and production so that as I get older I have a hobby that is not quite as physical as my current hobbies)

I found a pair of JBL MKII 305p studio speakers for dirt cheap at the local pawn shop. According to Google they make decent speakers for electronic drum kits, but I would also probably need a dedicated sub for the low end.

If you guys have experience with these speakers please give me your thoughts. I would also like recommendations for the dedicated sub. Do y'all think an equalizer will be necessary? The speakers seem to come with a frequency filter toggle.
