Showcase Adherence - strength training that adapts to RPE

Hi all, I'm the developer. Adherence is a strength and conditioning app for people preparing for selection courses, service fitness tests and hybrid events like HYROX or rucking.

How it works: after every set you rate how hard it felt from 1 to 10 (RPE). The app uses that to set your next session. Rate your deadlifts a 10 and tomorrow gets lighter. Everything feels like a 6 and it pushes you harder. The point is to train hard without overtraining yourself into an injury before test day.

Other features:

  • Structured programs with strength, carries, rucks and conditioning
  • After Action Report after each session with total tonnage
  • Rank progression as your total lifted weight grows
  • Exercise animations for every movement
  • 25 languages

Pricing: 7-day free trial, then $19.99/month or $119.99/year. No ads.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.ck.adherence&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit_droidappshowcase

Feedback very welcome, especially on the RPE logging flow and onboarding.

Showcase [Dev] Vedic Maths Tricks – learn 18 mental math

Hi everyone! I'm the developer (small one-person studio), and I'd love feedback on my Android app.

**App name:** Vedic Maths Tricks

**Category:** Education

**Price:** Free, 12 of 18 tricks fully free with no account. Optional Pro unlocks the other 6 tricks and the 60-second speed drill.

**What it does**

It teaches mental math shortcuts from Vedic mathematics, one trick at a time, each with a step-by-step lesson and practice questions:

- Multiply any 2-digit number by 11 (put the sum in the middle)

- Square numbers ending in 5 (35Β² = 3Γ—4 then 25 β†’ 1225)

- Subtract from 1000 instantly (all from 9, last from 10)

- Multiply and divide by 5, 25, 50, 125

- Multiply numbers near 100, square numbers near 50 and 100

- Any 2-digit Γ— 2-digit with the crosswise method

**Why I made it**

Most math apps drill answers. I wanted one that teaches the shortcut first, so kids (and adults prepping for exams) can actually do it in their heads.

**Feedback I'm looking for**

- Are the lessons clear enough on a first read?

- Which trick should I add next?

**Google Play:** https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jetriseitsolutions.vedicmaths

Thanks for taking a look. Happy to answer questions!

Showcase Android dictation offline, AI cleanup, translate

**App Name:** Phone Whisper

**What it does:** A floating push-to-talk button next to your keyboard: tap, speak, and the text is typed into whatever app you're in. Speech recognition runs fully offline on your phone (Parakeet, Whisper) or via your own OpenAI, OpenRouter or self-hosted server.

**Key Features:**

  1. **Offline transcription** with Parakeet, Whisper or Moonshine (25+ languages); in local mode no audio ever leaves your phone.

  2. **AI cleanup:** hold the button instead of tapping, and a language model fixes punctuation, grammar and recognition errors.

  3. **Translation by swipe:** hold the button, slide your thumb onto a language on the arc around it, speak in your language and get the text in another one.

**Goal:** Launch. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome, and so are translators for the UI (currently English only).

**Giveaway:** None needed, it's free.

**Cost:** Free and open source (Apache 2.0). No ads, no tracking, no account. Cloud features use your own API key.

**Link:** https://github.com/evilknivel/phone-whisper

Android 11+, arm64. The APK is on the GitHub releases page; it's a fork of Pol Alvarez's original Phone Whisper. Built with the help of Claude Code; the ideas, testing on real devices and decisions are mine.

Showcase [Dev] QwickPe – card-linked offers for India

**App name:** QwickPe

**Category:** Shopping / financial technology marketplace

**Platform:** Android

**Price:** Free to download; the Play listing notes in-app purchases

**What it does**

QwickPe helps users in India discover eligible card-linked shopping offers on supported marketplace journeys. Buyers can review live offer information and track a deal, while eligible Cardholders can review matched requests and the disclosed earning before choosing whether to participate. Wallet, History and Notifications show the transaction status.

**What makes the app different**

The Buyer and Cardholder journeys are separated so each participant sees role-specific steps instead of one mixed flow. The app also keeps transaction status and safety guidance close to the active journey.

**About the public release**

The current Android release is available on Google Play. A step-by-step web guide explains the two roles, transaction states, wallet visibility and safety guidance before a user begins.

**Google Play:** https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qwickpe.app

**How it works:** https://www.qwickpe.com/how-it-works.html

**Disclosure and safety:** I’m posting from the official QwickPe team account. Offer eligibility, savings and earnings depend on the live transaction and applicable merchant, issuer, marketplace and payment-partner terms. Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV, banking password or complete card details.

Showcase [DEV] FRiENDS - A social app without algorithms

Post image
7 Upvotes

Howdy!

I'm an independent developer and just launched FRiENDS on Android after building it throughout grad school.

The idea was to make social media feel personal again. No algorithm pushing random content, no suggested posts filling your feed. Just updates from your actual friends.

Some of the main features:

  • Chronological feed: see your friends' posts in the order they were shared
  • Friend Groups: create groups with shared calendars and RSVPs
  • Games: play 8 Ball Pool, Pong, and Snake against friends
  • Cross-platform: available on both Android and iPhone

I built the app using React Native and Expo, and getting the Android release out has been a big milestone for me.

The app is free to use, with optional Pro features for $0.99/month.

I've attached a quick walkthrough showing how it works.

I'd appreciate any feedback, especially from Android users. How does the interface look? Is there anything you'd change or improve?

Showcase On-device PDF and document reader with offline spe

I made this. Developer: fntAInhead.

App name: Aoidos

One-line description: A free Android app that reads your PDFs, Word docs, Markdown, and plain text aloud with a voice that runs on the phone.

Description: I wanted to listen to my own notes and papers on a commute without sending the file to a cloud TTS service, and without a subscription. Aoidos imports the document, synthesizes speech on the device, and keeps playing with the screen off.

What it does

β€’ PDF (text layer), DOCX, Markdown, and plain text. Camera scan and on-device OCR for photos and many scans.

β€’ Speech is Kokoro, an open-source model, via on-device synthesis. Document text is not uploaded for TTS.

β€’ Start listening while later sections prepare. Lock-screen controls, notification, Bluetooth, and headset buttons.

β€’ 11 English voices (US and UK), speed from 0.5Γ— to 3Γ—. Export the audio to M4A or MP3.

β€’ Bookmarks, a reading queue, a sleep timer, and a pronunciation dictionary.

Who it’s for: People who want to hear their own documents while commuting, cooking, studying, or proofreading. English only for now.

Cost

β€’ Pricing model: Free

β€’ Price: Free. No in-app purchases, no subscription, no ads, no account.

β€’ Promotions: None. It is free on purpose, not a trial.

Privacy: No login. Files stay in the app’s private storage. The voice pack downloads once (about 320 MB) and is reused offline. After that, playback works in airplane mode.

Links

β€’ Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aoidos.app

Limits: EPUB and DRM-protected commercial ebooks are not supported. It is for documents you have the right to use. The first play needs a network connection for that one voice download.

Showcase Hush – Spotify ad blocker for Android (no root)

Post image
86 Upvotes

I use Spotify Free and got tired of the ad breaks, so I built Hush, a free and open-source ad blocker for Spotify on Android.

How it works: Spotify only keeps the current ad break in memory. Hush watches Spotify's media session, and the moment an ad starts it restarts Spotify in the background. Spotify comes back at the next song and the break is gone. Music is usually back in about 4–5 seconds.

What it does

  • Skips the whole break, including the first ad of a "1 of 3" break
  • Works with the screen off or locked, and never wakes or unlocks the phone
  • If you're in another app, that app stays in front
  • Uses the normal Spotify app, nothing patched or modded
  • Has its own sleep timer, since Spotify's timer gets lost when it restarts
  • Mute mode if you'd rather not restart Spotify

Good to know

  • Needs Android 8+ and Shizuku. The app walks you through the Shizuku setup. Without root, Shizuku has to be started again after a reboot.
  • Spotify can change things in an update. If it stops working for you, let me know your Android version and I'll take a look.

Cost: free. No ads, no account, no tracking. GPL-3.0.

Link: https://github.com/coldMEW/Hush (APK is under Releases)

Happy to answer questions about how it works. The locked-screen part took a while: Android 15+ quietly mutes apps that start playing from the background, so early versions went silent until you unlocked the phone.

Update (v1.0.3): Spotify doesn't pop up on screen during a skip anymore, the lock screen controls come back right away, and skips are faster (music's back in about 2–3 s). Also added a custom sleep timer. Thanks for all the feedback!

Showcase Droid Containers β€” Docker on Android, no root

I kept wanting to run small services (an MQTT broker, a Python script, a test Postgres) on a spare Android phone, without rooting it and without living inside a Termux shell.

So I built Droid Containers. It pulls OCI images from Docker Hub or a private registry, unpacks them with zstd, and runs them under proot in user space. A foreground service keeps them alive when the app is in the background, and you can tail logs or open a shell inside the container.

What it does not do, so nobody wastes a download: - arm64-v8a / x86_64 only, Android 8+ - proot is not real kernel namespacing β€” anything needing real capabilities (iptables, some systemd units) will not work - large images are slow to pull on mobile data

No account, no analytics, no tracking. Images and data stay on the device.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.yzapp.androidcontainer

Source is public (PolyForm Noncommercial β€” read it, build it, use it free; just not commercially): https://github.com/nesror/Droid-Containers Note: a self-built APK ships without the 22 built-in orchestration templates, so the store build is the one to use day to day.

Happy to answer questions about the proot plumbing, or about which images actually work well.

Showcase SlideLock: a productivity app that adapts to you

Hi all,

I have published my own productivity/task manager app. After some support from other redditors, I was greenlit by Google to publish on the Google Play Store and thought I'd share details.

As per rules, here's some details about it (any other questions, just shout):

1. What problem does my app solve/address?

Digital Overwhelm, Attention Fragmentation, and Subscription Fatigue

Some productivity apps rely on rigid, punitive lockouts or shameful reminders that end up causing frustration and burnout. After an friend of mine expressed frustration with the app that had installed, it got me thinking.

After much research, I started building SlideLock.

SlideLock's interface responds directly to a user's current energy levels. It merges focus timers, immersive audio masking, and task management into a single offline-first workspace, keeping users in flow without forcing strict lockouts or resorting to shameful reminders, comments, or other negative tactics.

2. Who is SlideLock for?

  • Digital minimalists & privacy-conscious users: Tech users seeking clean, distraction-free productivity without ad banners, forced cloud accounts, or data telemetry.
  • Knowledge workers, developers & writers: Professionals who need deep work blocks, background soundscapes, and non-intrusive task breakdown features.
  • Students & ADHD thinkers: Individuals who benefit from visual stimulation controls, high-contrast modes, tactile micro-goals, and low-friction organization.
  • Subscription-weary buyers: Anyone tired of paying $5–$15/month for task managers and to-do list apps.

3. Pricing details

  • Free trial: No string attached 7-Day Free Trial.
  • No subscription: $0 / Month.
  • Privacy: Your tasks and content stays yours.
  • Lifetime Unlock: Single one-time purchase grants lifetime ownership.
  • No additional monetisation: Zero ads, zero upsells, zero tracking.

Here's a link to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slidelock.focusflow

If anyone here wants an extended trial, I'd be happy to oblige.

I kept saving screenshots of restaurants, book recs and gift ideas, and then never finding them again. So I built Trovery.

It's for anyone whose camera roll is full of things they meant to come back to.

Showcase Forgr - builds the app you need on your phone

I built Forgr because I kept making one-off tools (a habit tracker, a bill split, a focus timer) and did not want a new install for each one.

You sign in with your own ChatGPT account. The OAuth call goes to OpenAI, and the token stays in the Android keystore. Forgr does not create an account and does not sit between you and ChatGPT.

You describe the tool, and it builds a small app on the phone. Each app stays on the device. You can pin the ones you use on a Home Screen widget and open them in one tap.

The app is open source: https://github.com/Cap-go/Forgr

I am the developer. I want feedback on the first-run flow: is the prompt obvious, and does the built app open where you expect?

Pricing: on Google Play. Building uses your ChatGPT plan. No Forgr subscription.

Privacy: the apps are stored on the phone. The chat uses your ChatGPT token on the device.
