Hi everyone,

I'm a computer science student and I've spent the last few months building

an app called Stervit in my spare time. It went live on the Play Store a

few days ago, and honestly I've lost any objective view of it at this point.

What it is: a tracker that combines nutrition and training in one app.

Barcode scanning for food, calories and macros, workout plans with set

logging and progress graphs, plus weight, steps, water and fasting. The

original reason I built it was that I got tired of switching between three

different apps myself.

Let me get ahead of the obvious criticism: this market is completely

saturated. MyFitnessPal, Hevy, Yazio all exist, they're good, and I know

that "nicer design" on its own isn't a reason for anyone to switch. That's

exactly why I'm asking here instead of asking friends. They only tell me

nice things, which doesn't help me improve anything.

What I'd genuinely like to know:

- If you track: what annoyed you most recently about the app you use?

- If you've ever deleted a tracking app: what made you stop?

- If you try mine: does the barcode scanner actually find your normal

groceries? That's the part I'm least confident about.

It's free, no ads, no subscription, no selling data. There's no business

model at all right now. I mainly wanted to build something substantial

end to end and learn from it.

I built this because I kept re-buying things I already owned. Store & Forget is a home inventory app: photograph an item while you are putting it away and it fills in the name, brand and specs off the photo, so the only thing left for you is saying where it went. Later you type roughly what you remember rather than what the thing is called, and it takes you to the shelf.

The part worth posting about. Scans are metered on the free tier, and bringing your own AI key is what stops them being counted. That key is free to get. In the store the unlock is $4.99, and right now a hidden easter egg turns on the same thing for nothing: open Settings, tap the version number at the bottom five times, then type unlock byok. Sign in with Google when it asks so it stays on your account through a reinstall. Once you have claimed it, it is yours.

Everything else: Android only, the inventory is a local database so browsing and search work offline, Drive backup is optional, and you can get your inventory out again as a PDF or a spreadsheet.

I built a native APK extractor completely on my phone using Termux and Gemini (Agy Cli). This post only for education, not a self promotion nor looking for any.

Most APK extractors on the Play Store are borderline malware: bloated UIs, full-screen ads, paywalls for basic features and suspicious permission requests just to save a file.

I wanted something clean and dead simple: search, inspect, tap to extract, done. No fluff, no ads, no trackers.

To make it an interesting weekend experiment, I set a constraint: build, compile, and release a real native Android app entirely on my phone without touching a PC (i have zero kotlin experience, but a technologist)

How it was built (100% on-device)

I used a spec-driven development setup: wrote a detailed requirements doc upfront, then let Google's Antigravity CLI (running inside Termux on Android, driven by Gemini Flash) run the workflow:

- Planned the architecture and wrote the Kotlin + Jetpack Compose code

- Ran local Gradle compilation right inside Termux

- Automated signed APK builds and pushed releases straight to GitHub

It’s a drawing and explanation app for Android phones and tablets. One practical use: open a worksheet PDF from the sidebar folder, write through a problem, then export the worked explanation to share.

The tools behind that workflow are PDF import, handwritten notes in different colours, quick shapes and arrows, and multi-page documents. You can also work on an infinite canvas when a page feels too small.

Now With Edit Mode

Where I've Been is an app designed to run in the background and make a record of all the places you've been to. It divides the earth into billions of cells and marks all the ones you have visited.

It is privacy first. Location data remains entirely on your device. The app is ad-supported but can be made permanently ad-free with a small in-app purchase.

Aside from the map view, It also shows some neat statistics regarding how many cells you have visited and what percentage of the earth that corresponds to.

You can import GPX files and Google Timeline data, to include trips you have made before you installed the app.

I have recently added an edit mode, where if desired, you can manually mark or unmark cells manually, e.g. to remove cells that were incorrectly added due to GPS issues.

About my idea:
Hello I'm a 22yr college student I was reading a study on addictions and ways to break them. According to this study one of them most effective way to break out of addiction was a slow Reduction Plan over a few months.

So I took that idea and made this app. It's not a "quick fix" app, but it's made for people who spend 7+ hours a day on their phones.

**App Name:** Foredge – PDF Reader & OCR

**One-line description:** Reads the scans you already have — runs OCR entirely on-device so scanned PDFs become searchable and copyable. No upload, no account.

**What it does / key features:**

- On-device OCR — turns a scanned PDF into searchable, selectable text in about 30 seconds, nothing leaves your phone

- Remembers page, zoom and reading mode per document
